Wow. Few things. Theme is nice-fun. The kiddos will love it! Family owned. Roots from Guadalajara. Keep that in mind as flavors and plates differ depending on region. Example: their mole is going to be different than traditional mole from Oaxaca (and other regions). Food: Authentic. I married a Tapatia. It's like my mother-in-law jumped in the kitchen. Out-of-bounds! Service: Amazing. Friendly and helpful. Frequently checking in. Standout: Sunday brunch buffet. They serve you so it's not a bunch of grubby hands-type of buffet. Sample many of their plate offerings and can add menudo or pozole. Cafe de Olla. Free refills. All for a generous price (IMO). My 4th favorite Mexican Brunch place other than home, my mother-in law's or my mom's. It's good. Cons: Spoons. Too flat. Need deeper spoons to fit more food into a bite. No bibs. Cute theming but alright tacos. I've had Flying Tacos at their home location and visiting venues. Strangely the shrimp tacos were very different although I had them weeks apart. The service was friendly at all locations. The tacos were on the smaller side so I would order a decent number to be full. *Al Pastor: better at the home location. The meat was fattier and juicier. The first time I had it, the marinade was overly salty and the meat was dry. *Shrimp: the shrimp were tiny and bland. The first time I had them, the included peppers were cooked and seasoned well. The included chipotle sauce was perfectly smokey and spiced. However when I ordered them again, there wasn't any cooked vegetables and they were topped with simple lettuce and lemon. We hadn't been here since the Tulare landmark (real) plane location had changed hands and become Flying Taco, and it was fun to check it out. The enchilada and taco plate and the fajitas were quite good, though portions were small. The place could use a little Improvement for quicker food prep and other minor improvements, as well as either lower prices or more generous portions, but it was worth the visit. We'll probably go back for the fun factor, especially if our grandchildren are visiting - where else can you eat inside an airplane? One thing I did not appreciate was the higher credit card price - I know that's becoming a more common practice, but IMO it should be treated as a cost of doing business with prices that cover it. And the prices are high enough for the portion sizes that they should. That part of town doesn't see a lot of evening traffic, so I hope they can continue to stay open for dinner. Every time I come here I always forget to take a picture of my food. I come here on the weekends to get the Brunch buffet that's from 9-3pm. The food is as authentic as you can get for Mexican food here in the valley. Amazing taste and they have a variety of things. Without a doubt the most disgusting Mexican "food" I've EVER tasted and we were unable to eat! We seriously threw everything away and have nothing good to say after wasting $40. All the meat is diced up into smaller than 0.25" inch pieces and are so overcooked they're inedible. The carne asada was as tough as jerky and was all cartilage and fat. It was so greasy it seemed as though it was thrown into a deep fat fryer to reheat it. The refried beans bland, runny, no salt, no flavor; didn't even try the rice. Chips in the nachos were stale and overcooked. Fake bright lime green slime that was supposed to represent guacamole. Salad nothing as advertised. All cheese and dry chicken. Hardly any greens and none of the vegetables as listed on the menu. Also, absolutely no dressing was on the salad nor given on the side. This wasn't the place I had in mind to eta at for lunch today. Ended up here because my first choice was closed. I've been here several times under different names. People are very attentive and nice when you walk up and they take your order. Ample room to sit and eat or of course take out. I ended up having a carne asada torta and a Mexican coke in a bottle. Drink was ice cold and they open it for if you like. The torta came out nice and warm. The bread was nicely grilled and had all the fixing you expect for a torta. I had taken my son when it was a bbq place and it was such a cool experience that I decided to take my husband and daughter now that it's Mexican food. The food was barely warm when we got it, they forgot my taco and I got it once we were all done eating. It was raining the day we went and instead of them taking our orders at our tables, they still had everyone ordering outside in the pouring rain. Also, they have no system in place to know who's order is who's. I saw them taking food to the wrong table and they yelled out our order to find us. They should have orders # or something.
