Our food was amazing!!! Exactly what my husband and I had been craving and looking for! I had the combination plate with a crispy chicken taco, cheese enchilada, chile relleno, beans and rice. It was so delicious! The chile relleno had the white cheesy sauce on it instead of the red sauce. It is hard to find restaurants that do this. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. We will be back. read more

Las Playas Restaurant - Mexican Near Me - Tulare, California

Everything is great but the Shrimp omelette... it is soooo good!!! Relaxed vibe, waitresses were attentive! Overall, great experience

My girlfriend has been wanting to try this place out for quite sometime now and we figured yesterday was goods time as any to do so. We both shared a wet chili verde burrito. It had good flavor and texture, the meat was flakey and moist. Overall it might have lacked a smidge of salt, but still worthwhile to go back again if were in Tulare and craving some chili verde. The service was good and didn't lack anything, so if your looking for decent service you won't be disappointed. read more

I've been coming here for years. I used to come as a child with my parents and now I take my own children. The shrimp cocktails are really bad, I do not recommend. Some good items are the Camorones rellenos or the Pollo Al Cilantro. Those are our go-to. Now the service here is really bad unless you get the main lady. We went last night for a birthday party and our service was so bad (not the first) we won't be celebrating events here anymore. They can't seem to handle large groups. read more

I read some of the reviews but I still want to go eat there. Haven't been there in quite a while. But the servers were pleasant the food was authentic and I will return. read more

Thank you Las Playas Restaurant cooks and servers for an excellent meal of Chili Verde and Golden Margaritas on August 20, 2019 Tuesday. After a long difficult day I sat with my special lady and relaxed to a delicious margarita and of course chips and good salsa. The chili verde burritos were tasty and generous and filled with pork and rice and beans just right. Thank you all at Las Playas for a happy way for us traveling tourist to finish a rough day. Great service. read more

Service was amazing! She had our refills going out while time there. This is my 3rd time getting the camarones rellenos. It's the best! The red sauce isn't too heavy and rice and beans are always amazing. My husband got a seafood plate with fish, abalone, scallops, shrimp, and crab. He loved it. Definitely worth the $24 for his plate. My go to spot when I want shrimp! read more

Came to visit this place on a Sunday evening. The last time I was here was around 5 years ago, been coming to this place for over 20 years! Gotta say looks the same inside. This place definitely and desperately NEEDS an upgrade/makeover!!!. Menu is GREAT, that needs NO change (foreals), food was delicious and very tasty. Atmosphere is welcoming, cuddos to the service, very cold beer and the jukebox music playing (probably their only upgrade). Would give it five stars but lacking in upgrade and cleanliness. I'll come back and check it out in a few years to see if anything changed lol read more

Finally tried this place out and I won't be returning. The service was bad. When we first arrived it was pretty empty, after a while a few more tables were filled up. This is when the waitress seemed to forget about us and put us to the side. Our food took about an hour to arrive. And we didn't order anything they don't specialize in. Service was extremely slow. I ordered a combination plate with a taco, Chile relleno and tostada. I was second to last to receive my plate. Camarones a la diabla were super sweet and not spicy. Mojará Frita was good. Coctel de camarón was loaded with shrimp. read more

Horrible , the service is very unprofessional, rude rude rude !!! These lady's don't have personality to work here , the food was just horrid .. will never be back !! read more

Shrimp cocktail was horrible never again never LOL the broth was clear and it smelled old

Small restaurant, atmosphere not bad. Waitresses were helpful; not too friendly but not rude either. Food is so-so. Enchilada is good; sauce is mediocre. Chips and salsa is average. Nice place to go to with friends and family. read more

The food is good, but the service not the best, they had actually overcharged me 24 dollars, they did refunded me the overcharge; however, it makes you question if they have done this to other customers. I went during the slowest time of the day - Thursday around 3pm, and there were literally only two guys eating, and they manage to make this mistake. In addition, the sauce that is to be served with the fish I order was not given - it was a to go order and order the sauce on the side. read more

I enjoyed there mojarra, the food was good. I had some oysters. My husband and i will def go back. Well remind the waitress to bring our tortillas sooner because she totally forgot then them. read more

Started out disappointed that they don't make albondiga soup but the cozido (beef soup) made up for it!! The salsa is authentic, the soup was flavorful, tons of meat, veggies and the service was great! Well worth every cent!! read more

Simple, nice restaurant. The servers were very attentive and friendly. Chips and salsa were good, but if you like your salsa spicier, ask them to bring you the salsa used for the tacos. Very spicy and delicious. I had the porkchop dinner, very flavorful, just like a home cooked meal...and it actually looked like the picture in the menu. Will definitely come back whenever in town. read more

i loved this place. i hope you do too. bring your family. your abuela, your hijos. and just to fit in, you better bring your pickup, your cowboy hat and cowboy boots because this is where a lot of dairy workers come to chill, and listen to live ranchero on sunday afternoons (3 - 8 pm!). even the owner gets into it and sings a couple tunes. i had the best shrimp cocktail EVER that i've had in north america. limon, jalapenos, and chopped onions. my shrimp -- about 20 of them!!! -- were swimming in this mixture for maybe 15-20 minutes before it came to the table and cooked while sitting in front of me. see, i don't like the traditional mexican ceviche - my preference is the peruano. oh lord, this stuff was picante but perfect if you love salt, lime, and hotness. i had to ask for a little crema to help it all go down. divine. my companero had a mixed seafood platter. served with a ton of cut-up lime. this was super-good too. and then i saw one waitress making a michelada - a careful mix of beer and tomato juice with other stuff. that sealed the deal: i'm coming back. soon, i hope. read more

In my opinion this is just another average Mexican Restaurant. Its certainly not the best I have ever had and not the worst. The food is pretty average. One dish that I really did enjoy was the Shrimp in garlic sauce. Which really kept me from giving it only 2 stars. The place itself is a little run down. All in all I wouldn't go out of my way just to eat there. read more

Average Mexican Restaurant. We ordered the seafood platter which was just ok, not the freshest we've had. The horchata was good though and servers were friendly. The place has an old 60's diner feel. read more

If this place were in Minnesota (where we moved here from), I would have given it 5 stars. The food is alright, I thought the service could have been better considering that we were practically the only ones in the restaurant. There are so many really good Mexican restaurants around here and many are hard to top. I just felt that the enchilada sauce could have been better and the cheese in the enchiladas could have been melted at least. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't awful... I've just had way better for much less money. If the prices were lower, I would have rated this higher. read more

This place is terrible first of all shrimp enchiladas didn't even have any cheese then other plates the chicken was overly cooked and last the drinks are expensive and all you get is ice I would not recommend this place for anyone read more

Please turn back. This place is by far the worst seafood restaurant I've ever been to. The cocktail I had was the most flavorless thing I've ever had in my life. I had to throw in half a bottle of tapatio ( hot sauce ) to try to bring it to life. Guess what!? No help. Had to leave it half way. Couldn't force myself to eat it, despite the 15 dollars it cost. Please save yourself and turn around. This place sucks. Unless you're from the area and don't know any better. Good luck if you decide to still eat here. Only good thing was the Pacifico I had. read more

This place is great!!! Good food, good service, and fast. Found this place by accident traveling down south, will def. one back.

My absolute favorite place. This is the only restaurant I visit on a regular basis. One day I will try something else other than the Pollo al Cilantro, I can't stop reordering it when I come in! :) I don't really care for rice, but I love theirs. Food is excellent, waitress are nice, prices are good. read more

Pretty good Mexican food place with a focus on seafood. I've been frequenting this place whenever I get a craving for shrimp fajitas since and unpleasant experience with Puerto vallarta in the past. Service is good, prices are alright, food is a slightly above average. I'd recommend it. read more

I've been here once on mother's day I didn't like the rice or what I ordered they took long to bring us our food and it's a pretty penny

We all loved the food. 2 of us had the chili verde compuesta.. It was delicious, large, and the price was very reasonable. My brother had the chili relleno. He loved it. We will definitely return. read more

Food is good, but the waitresses always forget to refill drinks and bring your tortillas.

This Mexican restaurant offers the worst service ever, PERIOD. Either the waiter doesn't know how to right down the order correctly or the cook doesn't know how to read correctly. I ordered a green-chilli pork burrito and got a green-chilli beef burrito. I didn't accept it and then they brought me a red-chilli pork burrito. I also didn't accept it and finally on the 3rd time they got it correctly. What I had ask for a green-chilli pork burrito. After everyone had already eaten I got my food. But on top of that while everyone else from my table needed soda refills the waiter was nowhere to be seen. And when she actually showed up. It took her about 10 minutes to bring 3 refills. I would have some sort of simpathy if it was bissy and there was 1 or 2 waiters. But in this particular occasion there was 4 waiters and only 4 tables with customers. That being said my burrito was a 6 out of 10. Because it had a lot of fatty chunks of meat in it and it lacked flavor of Alpastor. But the sea food plater was great. I would rate it a 9 out of 10. Due to the fact that it had too much sea food juice at the bottom which caused the flavors to mix and again. It had a few fatty meat parts that are uneatable. That being said I would NOT recommend this place to eat unless you want a horrible experience. Then of course be my guest. . . read more

Pretty decent place and food. I can appreciate it. But, I especially took my mother there for her 70th birthday to have the mariachis sing to her and they skipped right over her! It wasn't like we had a weak check. I think it was the band. We asked the waitress to confirm a song with the group but nothing ever came it. read more

Best corn tortillas north of the border. My other fave is chile relleno. Atmosphere is mediocre. Live mariachis on Friday nights although I've not heard them to know how good they are. read more

Make no mistakes,Las Playas ,this is for you..Now usually i dont complain ,but this time ill make an exception.anyways my girl had eaten there today ,she had brought me back two chille rellenos just the rellenos by them selves, and a burrito, total was 30.00$ and if that wasnt enough ,my rellenos were not cooked at all is what it seemed nearly broke a tooth trying to chey through the rellenos ,they didnt peel the chillis or anything but then again when u dont toast the chilles ,they tend to be impossible to peel..also not to mention there little too ..also my burrito ,i got a regular carne asada burrito, with everything ,they even added some hair for free, grossed out ......honestly i feel disrespected and ripped off ,not worth it at all and believe u and me i know food lol, restraunt is over rated and expensive ,i most deffeinitley will never ever eat there again.and i would recoment u didnt either...... Would have been better off with dollar cheese burgers at mcdonalds...seriously no joke read more
