We were coming home from Disneyland and had a craving for tacos. We pulled into a gas station and asked the clerk where is a good spot for tacos, and he recommended Tacos Tequila because it is not too far away from the 99 and had good food. We got there and the dining area is simple but clean. It even has two restrooms inside the restaurant. Our order was taken and the food came out quickly. We ordered burritos, quesadillas, and tacos. Portions are decent sized, including the bean burritos. The salsa bar had some very tasty and spicy accompaniments. Refills for drinks, including horchata, was a nominal charge. Once you walk inside, the clean, nondescript space seems as though it could have been a multitude of different establishments over the years, with its latest incarnation being a taqueria. The counter service during my visit was exceptionally helpful and friendly which is always nice. Counter personnel was appropriately masked. Since it was Taco Tuesday, I ordered two Carne Asada and two Carnitas tacos which comes with onions and cilantro. I asked for easy cilantro. My order may have been taken incorrectly. Perhaps, grill personnel, who shot me a dirty look, did not like the fact that I was wearing a mask. She was not. Nonetheless, I received almost no onions and heavy cilantro. 4 tacos for eight bucks is a deal, to me. Other reviewers have mentioned of the high cost of $1.85 for a taco, which to me, is not high. I ordered a wet carne asada burrito. The burrito was very good it had meat, rice and whole beans. They have a salsa bar everything was fresh. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. I will definitely return again, next time I will try the menudo, oh by the way they only have it on the weekends. My boyfriend had the carne asada Torta, taco de tripas and horchata. He said horchata and tripas was very good, now as far as the carne asada he thinks it needs more flavor. Over all we will return and try something else in the menu. read more

Got to this place thinking it was Taqueria Guadalajara #2 to order an asada torta. Turns out it was Tacos Tequila. I'm assuming it's called that cus you need a few shots of tequila to enjoy the food. I hope I just picked an off day with a new cook or something because the service was really good and the girl that took my order was really nice. Meat was dry and old. Theres not really any type of salsa in the torta besides a little sour cream. I'll probably drive by again in the future just to glance over and tell whoever's with me, "Hey, you see that place? Update 02/13/2019... always a great experience with trying different items and I have to say it's been all good!!!! The Chili Verde wet burrito is soooooo good. With that nice heat in the sauce and the marinated pork inside with rice and beans was delicious!!!! The jalapeño and cheese tamales are great!!!!! The mini tacos are great. But the Carne Asada wet burrito with the red sauce and refried beans is the BEST!!!! My niece knows how to order lol. I have to admit this place was pretty darn good. Nice selection of tacos, burritos, sopes, tamales etc ... must be a central Cali thing where they put lettuce on a fish taco but I'm used to So Cal and cabbage. Either way, my sister said the mini fish taco was good and my mom liked that she added cabbage to her's. The salsa bar was on point!!!! The carnitas wet burrito was great. I asked for both sauces to try which I like best and the cashiers was like both? Yup, both!!!! The presentation was nice and both res and green sauce were delicious!!! Awesome food and great service! Get the Quesabirria!! My friend and I were traveling through Tulare and decided to find tacos to eat, and luckily found Tacos Tequila! As we were ordering, the owner suggested we try the Quesabirria, and I'm so glad we did. They were amazing and I wish we ordered more. We also ordered tamales and tacos with asada, pastor and cabeza which we're all great! Salsa bar had 5 or 6 salsas and all the extras you'd expect. We decided to stop by this spot after our movie and we were not disappointed. I have to say the Asada wasn't bad but the Al Pastor stole the show. The shrimp was absolutely delicious. The only negative for me was they don't serve alcohol. I know that sounds terrible but there's something about beer and tacos they had a couple delicious salsa. I've been living in Tulare for a bit over a year now and man do I regret not trying this place out sooner. It's a very small building so it can be easily missed. But don't let just the appearance of this place fool you. I tried three kind of tacos: asada, chorizo, and Birria. They already come with cilantro and onion. And they are served on a white corn tortilla. The tortilla was perfect because it is cooked in oil and it was a bit crunchy. I enjoyed the chorizo and Birria tacos the most. So much so that after I finished I ordered two more tacos of chorizo! Yummy! They have a small bar of salsas and other extras for your tacos. I chose the guacamole salsa and red. By far the guacamole one was delicious. My husband had a torta de jamón and he liked it so much he got another one! The service was good. They bring out your order to you when it's ready. Overall, this place is a great taco spot. It will definitely become one of my taco spots to come to now! Try it! read more

I'm from Visalia and don't ever really eat in Tulare. I was in town shopping last night and decided to stop and get something to eat. We found this place and had to try it. We told the employee it was our first time and she told us about their specials and was very friendly. Their salsa bar was completely stocked and everything was fresh. When we got our food I was surprised at how big my burrito was for being so inexpensive. Their green sauce is some of the best I have ever had. After finding Taqueria Sin Frontera down the street closed, I gave this place a shot and instantly was happy I did. The tacos here were some of my favorite in Tulare. It's your typical Taqueria in many ways. The service is no nonsense. No "Hi, how are you" or small talk, just straight to the order. The food came out as quickly and efficiently as possible, which I also expected. My carne asada and pollo tacos were very tasty - juicy meat, warm tortillas, fresh cilantro. And muy authentico! It's easy to drive by this place. My dad found it because he ate and the Mexican food place next door and didn't like it. Looovvvee this place. We were there on taco Wednesday and got fish and shrimp tacos for $1. Yes, they are street tacos but we're very very good. Between the 2 of us, we got 2 fish tacos, 1 shrimp taco and an order of rice and beans for $7.50. We were full. Great salsa bar. Avocado salsa plus other varieties. This is a good fast friendly place to go. Has a salsa and condiment bar which I love to pick my own salsas. Very clean and I also love that they have what each meat is in English for those that don't know really what they are ordering. This place had no customers in the middle of the day on a Saturday. We were looking for some good quick tacos in Tulare on 4th of July, but we bit into gristle instead. Ordered five tacos-one wasn't even filled just shared toppings with 4 other tacos all laid out flat like a flower shape. Meat was chewy and tasted old.
