    Taco de chorizo!!!

OK so here I go with another one of my reviews. I've been trying a lot of different places lately, so let's get to it with my review on Matilda's. So I ordered some tacos de al pastor and a queso taco and a burrito de asada. So my tacos were alright, but the burrito was really good!!! I asked if Jose who is the owner by the way if he could grill my burrito and of course he did,and was that much better well to me eneways. It wasn't busy so I got my comida pretty fast. The owner Jose was really polite and very professional also. I would definitely recommend this place to try out!!!

Street tacos. Lots of fluff but not very good.

They came by one evening at Kaweah Health and I've heard nothing but good things from my co-workers about this food truck. Then again when compared to the cafeteria food, anything is better. Menu is pretty easy to understand. Majority of tacos are $2.50 with burritos around $10. With some of the other meats such as lengua, it's an additional dollar for their tacos and like 3 bucks for their burritos. The tacos are really small. They are like the street tacos you would find in L.A. about 3 to 4 inches in diameter. Flavors though were so so. Kind of bland. I ordered their lengua and al pastor tacos. And it tasted all the same to me. Even with their green sauce and their red sauce. It all tasted the same. I wondered if I had covid because even squeezing all the lemon on top, it was just so so. Yea it's better than the cafeteria food, but not by much. And $2.50 for a small street taco with bland flavors I might just goto the cafeteria next time, at least it's cheaper there, which is saying a lot.

Tacos were good, but not the best. I tried the adobada & tinga by mistake because they gave me the wrong tacos. Great customer service.

Matilda's is moving locations on May 1st to Mooney and Visalia Rd, where Big Bubba's use to be! Being the first customer in line is not always the greatest. I had to wait 40mins + to get my food. I ordered one asada burrito and 6 al pastor tacos. Using your debit or credit costs a fee -- so bring CASH. The owners are super nice and down-to-earth so be nice!

I found this truck searching for good tacos on yelp and I'm glad I found one I really liked. So far I've only been going for their al pastor and tinga tacos.....do not leave without the hot sauce....Its sooooo good. I drench one taco with their red sauce and holy smokes I'm just immediately addicted. Like I said, do not leave without the sauce. It is the fire that lights up those bomb ass tacos. Also the owners are really kind. I haven't had any bad experiences when I go there. I had 10 frikin tacos from there today and now I need to take a nap. I'm obviously going back tomorrow.

We ordered a veggie burrito (which isn't listed on the menu) and a chicken burrito @ $8 each - plus a cheese/jalapeño tamale and chicken tamale @ $2 each. Everything was DELICIOUS. Prices are super fair. Doused everything in their green salsa which is to die for. Best taco truck around. Also, scope the attached photo to see just how massive the burritos are.

OMG! Really wish i would've took a picture of this monster wet burrito before killing it lol. So damn good i wiped the plate clean and believe me it was so massive i just could not stop. Best spot to grab some genuine mexican food, literally the best in the 559! Anything you want they got, and their staff is super friendly !! Consider me a regular now

For 1 burrito and 1 taco with tip, came out to around $33. Don't do delivery from here. The Burrito was not very good. The meat was almost like ground beef in texture but also non existent at the same time. I tasted more beans than rice but even then, it was more of a soupy burrito with a tortilla that you had to rip at and hope each bite wouldn't undo the whole burrito. There was some kind of salsa inside it that wasn't apart of the description. It gave it an off flavor. Al Pastor taco was meh. The corn tortillas tasted homemade, which was nice. But the meat was stringy, kind of fatty and an off color almost a light orange. It tasted better than the asada but still wasn't very good. I do appreciate they followed my request for extra salsa, but these packs look like they come from a frozen dinner you get at the store. Absolutely off putting. The flavor was "ok" but nothing special. Overall, not worth it. $33 and I was left with an upset stomach. I had such high hopes! I haven't been in a long time and was hoping it would have been an amazing experience. I was wrong. I gave 3 stars cause I do appreciate them following the special instructions most other restaurants don't. But that still can't justify the food.

Even after circling downtown Visalia for a solid 10 minutes trying to find parking (absolute chaos), this place delivered. Right when you walk in, you notice the ordering kiosk--which, honestly, is necessary given how busy they are. That alone told me I made the right call. While waiting, I saw a cook putting together a big order of quesabirrias, and that sealed it--I added one to my usual single-tortilla carne asada tacos. Let me be clear: they do NOT skimp on the meat. Easily a 10/10 in that department. The flavor is on point, the salsa hits, and portions are legit. If anything, I over-ordered because the tacos are more filling than they look. This place is operating at a level where they either need a bigger location or to start franchising--seriously. Only minor knock: the music was a bit loud for my personal preference. But that's it. Bottom line--well worth the stop. I'd go back without hesitation.

We didn't see anyone at the register just 2 people cooking so we ordered there. We ordered a bunch of different tacos and a quesadilla, the tacos were really good but I think a little overpriced for what they are , there really is no interaction just walk in order and eat, they do have a salsa bar and it is good. Overall I would give this place 3 1/2 to 4 stars, the no interaction thing threw me off, overall good spot if your craving some tacos.
