Due to the construction at the hotel next-door, business fell slow, the family that owns it is very friendly, if you come by, get yourself a gordita with Asada and an Horchata. Had a hard time finding this place due to construction in the area. The big blue building was slapping me in the face. Can't miss the big blue building. The ambiance reminded me of a few wholes in the wall in Mexico. The staff was so friendly and kind. Very attentive to our needs and made sure our waters were always full. Being our first time we order a few different items off the menu. Shredded beef taquitos, wet verde beef burrito, super burrito, as well as some tacos. The food came out quickly and hit the spot. We decided to eat here after seeing it on our way to another place the other day. It looks so festive and like it would have some great food. So the very next day we made it a point to give it a try. It's got some great reviews so it should be amazing. As I said it is very bright and festive on the outside and it flows on into the inside. It's a very open space type establishment. With table seating and a few booths. There is a huge menu behind the counter so you can order food to go. We chose to sit at one of the booths. We only saw one person working the counter and she brought us our menus. As I said it wasn't busy so I could understand not many servers working the floor. We looked over the menus as the young lady brought us chips. But no salsa. I thought that was strange. Most place bring chips and salsa together. I'm saying this because this type of thing continued throughout the visit. We had to ask for the salsa and it seemed like she forgot. Ok no problem. It happens. We looked over the menu which was really nice. With plenty of great choices. My wife opted for the enchiladas with beans and rice. But wanted green sauce on the side. Not on the enchiladas. I mean she had to repeat this several times before the young lady understood. Not sure why. But she just wasn't getting it. I ordered carnitas tacos with beans and rice and a Modelo Cerveza with lime. The Cerveza arrived promptly. No lime. I'm like wow really. Our food arrived before the lime. Which did get to me by the way. The food looked delicious. However my wife asked for green sauce on the side. She was brought red sauce. After repeating herself two or three times. It still didn't register with the server. I told my wife to say something. But she was like no it's ok and soldiered on with her food. Which she found to be bland. Void of any kind of flavor. I felt bad bcz she really wanted to try this place. My food tasted pretty good. The carnitas looked to be precooked like they got it from Grocery Outlet and just warmed it up. But it did taste good. The beans and rice were pretty mediocre at best. It wasn't horrible. But just had a weird taste. Maybe it was a bad day. Idk. But we won't be back. I hate to say that. Bcz this is just our experience. I'm sure other have had a great experience. I won't ever tell someone "don't eat there". Bcz they may like it. But again we won't be coming here again. read more

This place is a diamond in the rough. Quite literally. We were struggling to find a restaurant and came across this one from Yelp. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in. It is extremely spacious, colorful with a TON of personality. PLEASE DONT BE PUT OFF BY THE LOCATION, they deserve a shot. Trust me. The beer was cold (for my guy) I got a pina'nada and it was so delicious! We got the sope, Taco combo, ceviche, and my guy got a torta meal. Everything was amazing. The salsas were delicious, the meat was very good. The tacos were very small but we didn't go for the tacos. We will definitely be back The ONLY reason they get 4 stars is bc unfortunately the area has some bad passerby's that could definitely deter people with young children but give it a shot! I couldn't find them. I placed an phone order for pickup, and according to the Yelp map, it was right around the corner from where I was staying. I opened the address in Apple maps, which tried to direct me to a hotel that was under construction and fenced off. I then parked, checked my map, which was now directing me to make a big loop to pull in from a one-way road around the corner. Tried that, took me to the same fenced-off under construction hotel. I drove to the shopping center next door, called the restaurant, and they said they were near Chuck-E-Cheese, but across the street from 7-11. I found Chuck-E-Cheese, but never found a 7-11. There was a Valero that according to Apple Maps used to be a 7-11, but there was no restaurant nearby, other than New Star Chinese. After spending at least 30 minutes driving around, I gave up. Without proper signage or directions, good luck finding this place. read more

I recently tried this place on a visit to the area and found their crispy hard shell tacos to be outstanding...and quite different from the standard taco. I asked for them "ground beef" (which was an option), expecting a kind of ground hamburger beef. But this was not what came. Instead, it was a finely chopped steak-type beef, minced almost. But the curious thing is that it had a phenomenal taste that I have not encountered before and encourage all to try. It was almost tangy, and I had no idea how they achieved this or what was in it - but it was delicious. It was so good, I came back the next day and ordered the same thing-- and it came exactly the same way. With exactly the same tang to the beef that made every bite like an explosion of flavor to my palette. I can't wait to come back to this place when I visit the area next year. Me and my wife were staying in town a couple days to visit Sequoia National Park. We looked through the reviews of local restaurants and found this place. We have been all over the us and tried some amazing food along the way which have set our standards up there as far as taste, service and price. It's not until you travel you realize in how to find Great little spots. Let me just start with finding the place... vasalia has an odd routing of off ramps and service roads if your from out of town you'll probably get frustrated in just trying to get some where without having to do a mile turn back due to the one ways and confusing roads. To get to this shop you need to get off at the exit about 1/2 before the actual exit that Apple Maps said. The shop is on a corner but does not have an entrance you actually have to loop around 1/2 west on the service road and come back an access it from the service road and not the Main Street. on the side only entrance is to a gated apartment complex behind the shop. The sevice was slow but we did get there 1hr before close. The restaurant was decorated nicely which is an indicator that the food is good, if they take time In decorating the food is good. We ordered some asada, and pastor tacos And a Asada Torta. My wife got 4 asada tacos I got 2 pastor tacos and the torta. Tacos had good amount of meat I would say above average for tacos. The torta bad big again with a lot of meat in it. The taste of both the asada and pastor meat was delicious. I was stuffed after I ate my food and probably shouldn't have not of got the tacos. And the price for what they give is honestly low compared to other places that give you less and charge way more. I was extremely satisfied with our food and would highly recommend this place. Second day we went back and had breakfast there we had the potato, egg and chorizo breakfast tacos and were also pleased with the size of them. It's too bad we were in town a couple of days but could only imagine how good the rest of the plates are that they offer. First time eating Mexican here. We've been to this location many times before when it was an Indian restaurant. I like the decor it was very nice they seemed to make the huge open room more comfortable. The food was amazing I especially enjoyed the homemade tortilla and the beans and rice! The pork ribs were spot on and had a great flavors with the chile verde sauce! The fall off the bone ribs were perfectly cooked and delicious to pick up with a piece of tortilla! So this time he was so proud of him self for finding this hidden gem. They have plenty of choices on the menu. From breakfast to dinner. We order: Red chilaquiles. Came with rice and beans. I prefer potatoes but it was ok. Chile Relleno came with red spicy sauce, rice and beans. Menudo this one my daughter was not to happy with it. She didn't finish it. She always finished her menudo. Quesadilla it came with fries. 2 carne asada sopes. The flavor of every dish was great!! The sauce For the chilaquiles was on point. The Chile relleno my mother in Law loved it.
