For 1 burrito and 1 taco with tip, came out to around $33. Don't do delivery from here. The Burrito was not very good. The meat was almost like ground beef in texture but also non existent at the same time. I tasted more beans than rice but even then, it was more of a soupy burrito with a tortilla that you had to rip at and hope each bite wouldn't undo the whole burrito. There was some kind of salsa inside it that wasn't apart of the description. It gave it an off flavor. Al Pastor taco was meh. The corn tortillas tasted homemade, which was nice. But the meat was stringy, kind of fatty and an off color almost a light orange. It tasted better than the asada but still wasn't very good. I do appreciate they followed my request for extra salsa, but these packs look like they come from a frozen dinner you get at the store. Absolutely off putting. The flavor was "ok" but nothing special. Overall, not worth it. $33 and I was left with an upset stomach. I had such high hopes! I haven't been in a long time and was hoping it would have been an amazing experience. I was wrong. I gave 3 stars cause I do appreciate them following the special instructions most other restaurants don't. But that still can't justify the food.

The staff is patient, even when you're staring down the menu like it's a test you didn't study for. The place fills fast. By the time I was halfway through my meal, the room was packed, heavy wooden tables, yellow walls, colorful figures scattered around, ranchero music cutting through the chatter. It's the kind of noise that tells you people actually want to be here. I went with the chile relleno. The rice? Basic, nothing to write about. The beans? Solid, especially with cheese melted over the top, the kind of detail that makes you nod mid‑bite. The relleno itself was the star: tender chile stuffed with cheese, soft breading, and a sauce that carried real flavor. Every forkful reminded me why this dish is a staple. Drinks come in to‑go cups, which threw me at first, but it fits the vibe, practical, no nonsense. El Tapatio feels like a place you can drop into for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and know you'll walk out fed, satisfied, and maybe humming along to the music. It's not trying to reinvent Mexican food. It's just serving it straight, and serving it well.

Driving past, the building almost waved me down, like it knew I owed it a revisit. Locals know this spot for one thing above all: tamales. Holiday season turns this place into a waiting‑list destination. People tell me they sell out fast, and every year there's a sign posted for tamale orders. If Farmersville has a tamale headquarters, this is it. Walking in hit me with childhood memories. The wooden tables and chairs looked exactly like the ones my grandma used to have, and of course the laminated translucent table covers, a staple in every Hispanic household. It felt like stepping into a time capsule. I ordered huevos rancheros from the breakfast menu. While waiting, they brought out chips and salsa. I always think of chips and salsa as a lunch thing, but honestly, I'll take them any time of day. The chips were average, but the salsa was the star, flavorful with a hint of spice, the kind that makes you keep dipping even when you know you should save room for your meal. The plate itself was alright. The rice and beans were standard, nothing to write home about. The sauce smothering the eggs started off just okay, but it grew on me as I kept eating. By the end, I appreciated it more than I expected. This place has potential, and maybe that's why I felt a little conflicted. They've been around forever, yet sometimes when I drive by, the lot looks empty. Maybe I'm passing through during slow hours, maybe it's just the rhythm of the town. Either way, I hoped for a bit more but I also can't deny the nostalgia and charm that still live here. Ana Maria's is a gem in Farmersville, even if it's a quiet one. The tamales are clearly the main attraction, and I'll definitely be ordering some during the holidays. And honestly, I might come back just for that salsa, it's worth the stop on its own.

The fried rice was so good. My toddler and son devoured their serving plus we had so much extra to take home. Definitely worth your money. My oldest son had the smash burger and he loved it. He said the cheesiness of it along with the freshness of the meat made it a great combo. And the potato wedges were original. The tacos... I cannot say it enough...worth every penny.!! She shrimp taco was on the pricier side as well as the ribeye taco. BUT it was authentic and so much flavor. The ribeye was cooked just right! So tender along with the homemade tortillas, such a skill. The sauces were just the final toping that it needed. The food here tastes so authentic and special. The ambiance was good, there was plenty of seating and they did have a bathroom. Which is such a lifesaver if you go with kids. Our bill did come out to a bit over $100, considering we also got a Jarritos, a Coca Cola bottle and a regular drink. However it was worth it.! Specially when you still have food to take home for dinner. We did get lucky with parking and we were able to get a spot right out front, however if you go on a busy day, it'll be quite the walk. But that's the whole point of eating down town, to enjoy with area and have good food.

The fish is light and flaky in a crispy golden batter with pickled red onions, aguacate salsa and crema. I got one of each taco tonight to solidify my statement and after eating all 5 tacos, I can say without hesitation the crispy fish taco on flour is the best thing in the menu.
