Came here during opening weekend on March 3rd at around 5pm and waited just over an hour to get inside and then probably another 10 mins for our drinks. We heard so much hype and as a matcha enthusiast I was super excited to try them out! We ended up getting two specialty drinks: the cheesecake (two of us got this) and the coco pandan. The drinks were around 7 dollars with an extra charge for milk alternatives. Both of us who got the cheesecake felt the cheesecake taste definitely could have been stronger. The coco pandan was definitely the superior drink, the flavours were strong and mixed with the matcha super well. It was packed inside, but there was adequate seating and I could see this being a great place to study once the hype died down a bit. It's cool to see the drinks being made by hand, though there was some hold up with the cheesecake drinks. After an hour of waiting outside already, it was a bit frustrating having to wait longer inside and have people who ordered after us get their drinks before us. Overall, I'd be open to coming back (probably earlier in the day and on a weekday to avoid crowds) to try some of their other specialty drinks. read more

I've been seeing Matcha Matcha all over Instagram, even before its opening and I'm so happy to say I've finally tried it! PRO TIP: Avoid the long lines and go closer to opening hours! I went after a night shift, just before 8 am (they open at 7 am) and there was absolutely no line. Walking in, the atmosphere is quite chic. There's two kiosk iPads where you help yourself with ordering. Hence, there's very minimal interaction with staff - essentially only the two seconds when you're picking up your order as they call out your name. My drink of choice was the COCO PANDAN for my first visit. It's subtly sweetened by the pandan syrup, allowing the rich and earthy matcha to come through nicely. I liked that it has that hint of bitterness at the end of each sip, yet was not grainy at all. This place is definitely for true matcha lovers! At $7 I did feel it was a bit pricey but was happy that I got the quality I came for. read more

Matcha Matcha, Toronto's newest café, specializes in all things matcha. Located along Church near Carlton, this place offers a variety of matcha and hojicha drinks, soft serve, as well as pastries (crepe cake and basque cheesecake). They recently opened at the beginning of March where they had a few promos which resulted in long line ups. The space is sleek and minimalistic with spots for seating. Ordering your drink is done via 2 self-serve kiosks when you enter the store. I decided to stop by Matcha Matcha on a Tues morning around 7:45am (amazing they open at 7am daily!). Upon entering I ordered from the ipad (so efficient!) and my order was made at a reasonable time. I opted to get the iced Matchacano (matcha and water, like an Americano). Curious to see if they would also make the same drink using Hojicha instead (will have to ask next time). The Matchacano has no sweetness added but you can add syrup if you'd like (which is on the counter where you pick up your drink). I decided to enjoy my beverage for a little bit at the café and found that even at 8am there were customers coming in. Staff were friendly as well as they were busy preparing drinks. Overall, great new place for all things matcha. Will definitely have to return to try more of their beverages as well as soft serve as well! read more

Came here because we saw it a lot on tik Tok and was recommended highly by locals. Kind of disappointed with my drink though. I got the dirty atcha which is coffee + matcha. Cant really taste the matcha, mainly like milky coffee. The pandan matcha was really good but again int really taste the matcha. You mainly taste sweet pandan. Good to try this place out once. read more

Worth waiting in line for in the freezing cold of winter?? I think it was. Definitely one of the best matchas I've ever had in Toronto. I love a strong matcha latte that doesn't clump and actually tastes like matcha and not sugary grass. Matcha matcha had amazing lattes. I got a regular matcha latte less sweet and my friend got a coconut pandan latte. It was my first time trying pandan and it was so yummy. The only reason I give this place 4 stars is because there was close to no seating inside. It would be nice to be able to grab a matcha and sit there for a while but that's not really an option. read more

I have mixed feelings. We ordered the Tokyo and banana latte (both with oat milk). We liked the taste of them and getting to try innovative combinations for matcha. The matcha is really strong. I didn't mix the drink at first and only took a sip of matcha and it shocked me, haha. Mixing it definitely helps. I also think oat milk really adds to the drink by making it creamier and sweeter so it's hard for me to judge if these drinks would taste just as good with regular milk. I just can't justify the price... for 2 drinks with oat milk substitute (extra $1) it came to $19.21 (with tax, not including tip). With tip that's more than $10 per drink. It was nice to try but it's just very pricey. read more

I very much enjoyed the matcha cheesecake drink however the regular matcha was mid in my opinion. For the price you're paying you would expect a higher grade of matcha. Each drink comes out to $8 plus tax plus tip. I have also tried their matcha Mille feuille cake which is from Millie desserts but sold at a much higher price. The thing I would recommend the most is the matcha or hojicha ice cream. Very creamy and delicious All in all a great shop specializing in matcha but the quality and taste would depend on what you order. read more

I'm a matcha girlie and it's my go-to order pretty much everywhere I go. I finally had the chance to stop by Matcha Matcha, Toronto's new matcha cafe that opened earlier this year. I went in on a weekday morning so it was quite empty but started to fill up as the day went on. There is seating, but the tables are definitely on the smaller side. You order on an iPad and there is even a cool message board that you can interact with. What I got: - Tokyo Fog (early grey, vanilla, lemon zest, matcha) Final Thoughts: I think the cool thing about this cafe is definitely its cool flavor combinations (ex. Coco Pandan, Cheesecake latte, Blueberry lavender ube, etc). I enjoyed my Tokyo Fog but I also like a sweeter matcha so this may not be to everyone's taste. The drinks are also on the pricier side with an additional cost for alternative milk so you can easily pay close to $10 for a single drink. The cafe is pretty central so I'd stop by to treat myself to one of the cool drinks, but you can probably get a good quality matcha elsewhere for less. read more

So yummy!! I loved all the drinks I tried. The matcha crepe cake was probably one of the best I ever had. The interior has a nice aesthetic. This place is so good we had to come back before we flew back home. This is my go to spot to mention when people ask me for Toronto recs! read more

Overrated matcha place. I don't taste the scent and flavour of matcha. Too much ice (unable to choose the amount of ice) As a slow drinker, the matcha latte became watery and tasteless by the time I finished half the cup. Tables are too small, I couldn't put my MacBook while having a drink next to me. I don't think they do matcha right. They don't even whisk the right way. read more

Finally got to try this very hyped and new matcha spot! For all the matcha lovers, it is a must try because they have so many matcha drinks to choose from. I ended up getting the matcha cheesecake and my boyfriend got the coconut pandan to try. I personally enjoyed their matcha, it tasted very rich and the drinks were good and refreshing too! We did wait a bit in line (maybe 20 min) but I would say it was worth it. The drinks are a little pricey though just to note, the total for both drinks costed us $18 so it is more like a treat rather than an everyday type of spot in my opinion! read more

Matcha & hojicha twist was rich & creamy. It was the best & most tea-ish Japanese tea ice cream I've ever had, even including Japan. Both flavours were excellent, though matcha was a bit heavier. Hot matcha latte was basically what it said. Blu (blueberry lavender ube) matcha latte was an unusual blend but fragrant. London fog was simpler: lavender on matcha. The hot matcha drinks are quite unsweet & you can taste the high quality matcha. Matcha matcha crepe cake & earl grey crepe cake were both very light, rich & creamy. There was a great tea taste & very fresh cream. Cold hojicha latte was good. Milky, with a rich tea flavour. read more

I LOVE the no contact order method. It's makes things so much easier when deciding what you'd want and workers can efficiently make the drinks instead of spending time talking to the customers. This made things so much faster than the average matcha shop. The drinks were beautifully made, whisked well with no chunks. The flavours were very good. I've had the Tokyo Fog (Personal Favourite), the Banana Brûlée, and the Cheesecake Matcha. ALL were so good! read more

I'm not a huge fan of matcha, but Matcha Matcha has definitely changed my mind. The place is modern and simple. The service quick. The matcha is definitely fresh. You can taste the potency of the matcha as well as be able to watch it be grinded right in front of you. I also really enjoyed the different varieties of milk you could choose. For my drink, I got a coconut milk, which I loved. This was my first time here and won't be my last. read more

This is a wildly popular café (due to TikTok / social media) on Church / College in downtown Toronto. I came here on a Sunday and surprisingly didn't have to wait. You order through machines (there are 2) in the front of the store. I ordered a classic matcha latte with no sugar. They do have soft serves and mille crepes but they are most known for their lattes. Overall, the matcha latte was good - it was smooth, not too strong and not bitter. However, I will say and suggest that you get a little sugar as the no sugar version can be a bit hard to drink. Another thing to keep in mind is that there is only 1 size available, it is a bit expensive (cost around $8-9) and they give a LOT of ice (there also isn't the option to reduce the ice level). Service was quick and the interior is nice (although busy). It seems that after 7 they serve cocktails. I saw this on the poster in the store although I'm not sure if this is a new thing and for how long this will be available. read more

I've come here twice now-- though I wouldn't consider them comparable to a Matcha latte (i wouldn't really consider this to be a spot I would go to for matcha) the flavour combinations are so interesting and so enjoyable! I need to try their soft serve and regular matcha latte some day, but I keep returning to their specialty drinks and am definitely a returning customer. The shop is well located, the interior has a modern underground kind of vibe and seating is similar to most other Toronto cafes (maybe 10-15 spots). They typically make your drinks quick, as there's only 2-3 baristas, and ordering is done via Self Service on their tablet at the front-- makes it easy to go through the menu options and I love that there are pictures! read more

Busy but has great tasting matcha lattes. Different variety and unique flavours like white chocolate pistachio, pandan and ube. Too much ice in the drink. Not my favourite matcha ice cream in the city but still great. Ambiance is lively. Highly recommend and will come here again. read more

Alright, let's start with the AM setting: We came on their opening day, looong line up but it was worth it for matcha lovers I'd say. Out of the 3 types that we ordered, Chestnut and Strawberry from their classic list and Blu from their specialty list, my favorite is the Chestnut. The earthiness of the chestnut was not overpowering nor overshadowing the matcha. The strawberry was okay, but the Blu I am a little disappointed with, the matcha was burried by the blueberry lavender taro mixture. Moving on to the PM setting: Came on a different day, or should I say night, and they had their door opened so you can hear the live DJ playing inside. The four things ordered were: Apple pandan Pistachio Sencha Cream Oolong Spiced Jasmine The best out of them would be the Cream Oolong, it's like drinking a well made dessert. The Apple Pandan was fruity and fresh while the Spiced Jasmine was sweet and more tea forward. The most confusing / unmatched with name was Pistachio Sencha, I couldn't figure out what I was tasting. I even re-confirmed the order with the server and I did get the right item apparently. On both AM and PM seatings were limited, they do take waitlist for the PM. And if there are standing room available, they'd offer that as you wait for your seats. read more

Walked into such an aesthetically beautiful shop. Would love to come back and sit in to do some work. The line wasn't too long around 10 am. My friends and I ordered strawberry, coconut and the lemonade. My favourite was the strawberry, it was the perfect amount of sweetness and matcha flavour. I also believe the regular milk they use may be lactose free? The coconut pandan one was also amazing. Will def be back! read more

THE BEST matcha in the city. Great quality with tasty options! We got the Tokyo fog, matcha strawberry, matcha oat latte. Next time we'll be back to try the BLU - blueberry, lavender, ube! The atmosphere is definitely cafe vibes, come here for a nice matcha drink and do some work or catch up with friends! Service was pretty quick considering it was for grand opening. Worth the hype! I've seen this place all over Tiktok so had to check it out. My friend is an iced matcha aficionado, and it got her stamp of approval. I really liked my coconut pandan matcha - the pandan powder or syrup was soooo good. Need to go back! We only waited in line for ~10 minutes, and service was quick inside. I liked watching the baristas whisk the matcha and make the drinks. With soy milk, mine came out to $9. Definitely not an every day café, but you need to check it out to taste quality matcha. read more

New cafe specializing in matcha drinks. There were long lineups outside this place most afternoons for the past week since it just opened but the wait was basically nonexistent in the morning. The ordering system was a tablet which was a bit confusing because it wasn't opened to the main menu when I got to it and it was hard to ask for help since the 2 people working were really busy making the drinks. But once I ordered I got my order probably under 15min. The inside has a handful of coffee tables with a long bench on the far wall. It's a pretty bright and airy space given how little place it takes. I ordered the cheese foam matcha latte with oat milk. It was delicious, creamy, and made very well. I don't think it's worth lining up for more than 15min for a latte here but it's definitely a cute cafe worth checking out! read more

I got here on Saturday around 4pm so I was in line for about 30-45min. Not too bad. They have a tablet that you place your order on and the drinks come in about 10-15min. I love love love that they have alternative milk options cause your girl is lactose intolerant af. I tried the pandan matcha and my friend tried the Strawberry matcha The Pandan Matcha was a perfect balance of nutty light sweetness and matcha bitterness. I loved it personally as I got a millie matcha crepe. Therefore, It paired pretty well. Didn't feel sweet overall. 5/5 pandan matcha 5/5 millie crepe matcha Strawberry matcha was on the sweeter side but not artificial in flavor. Loved the taste of it. If you wanted something with the right balance of sweetness and matcha bitterness. Highly recommend the Strawberry matcha on its own. No need for any desserts 5/5 Deffo will be back to try the cheesecake matcha. I heard some people order it saying they can taste a bit of a cheesecake essence got me interested. read more

For this place only being open for a little bit, it was so good! The matcha was top quality and there were so many options to choose from! My personal favourite was the ube matcha latte. A must try! I saw this place prior to it opening on my Instagram story. The atmosphere and decor is very modern with a Japanese twist. I came on a Sunday around 10am with no line. I've seen in the past weeks that they do get long lines but if you visit early you can completely avoid it. Ordering is all self serve through their iPad - which they have two of. The iPad is slightly confusing but you can customize all of the drinks to your liking based on your ice, sweetness and milk alternative. I tried their classic match latte iced with coconut milk. The coconut milk they used was very good quality, they give you a good nice scoop of matcha and mix it with your classic matcha whisk attached to a tool to automatically whisk it for you. The ratio and preparation was on point and your first sip hits! The location is a bit out of the way but it's close to a subway station! Lots of great Japanese eats near there as well. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE. CAME HERE 4 TIMES WHILE I WAS VISITING TORONTO. As a matcha enthusiast who recently visited Japan, I was thrilled to find Matcha Matcha in Toronto. My sister, brother, and I all loved it--this place truly captures the authentic matcha experience. Coming from LA, where I've tried numerous matcha spots, I can confidently say that Matcha Matcha surpasses them all. The matcha here has a robust, authentic flavor that is hard to find outside of Japan. The ambiance is also delightful, making it a perfect spot to catch up with friends. The matcha latte here comes unsweetened, which I loved as it allowed the pure matcha flavor to shine through. For those who prefer a bit of sweetness, the other drinks are slightly sweetened, and you can adjust the sugar to your liking. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, answering all my questions and providing great recommendations tailored to my preference for a strong matcha taste that isn't too sweet. If you're a matcha lover looking for an authentic experience, Matcha Matcha is a must-visit. I can't recommend it enough! read more
