But to be frank, I thought it looked and tasted better on my first visit. As for the shaved ice, the Black Sesame presentation was downright ugly (must deduct a point for this!)...but luckily, this dessert tasted refreshingly good! I just felt that this should have been presented better. Despite some disappointments with the presentations, we thoroughly enjoyed both desserts. I'm sure I'll be returning in the future.

I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Matcha Maiko in Duluth, GA this evening, and I can't stop raving about it! I took my niece there for a pre-dinner treat, and it turned out to be the highlight of our day. The moment we walked in, we were struck by the clean, swanky decor, a perfect blend of modern vibes and authentic Japanese charm. Some folks were even kicking off their shoes to sit at the traditional low tables on the floor, which added such a cool, cozy touch to the experience. I opted for the matcha vanilla swirl soft serve, and my niece went with the matcha latte float. Oh my goodness, both were pure perfection! My soft serve was creamy, rich, and had just the right balance of earthy matcha and sweet vanilla, while her float was a dreamy mix of bold matcha and fizzy goodness. We couldn't stop gushing about how delicious they were. And can we talk about the service? The cute guy at the register was an absolute gem, attentive, friendly, and so polite. Service-When I am at the counter, I am alway lost on the pretty menu. I am curious what are Hojicha, and how about the sesame drinks? is that taste good or overload of sweets? The staff explains menu out to me clearly and even let me samples some of them. Drinks- variety, and topping are extra cost.For me, the drinks is best without topping. This really let me experience the deep in flavor of the drinks it self. Soft serve- cannot forget about them. They are extremely soft and tasty. Especially, matcha soft serve. After having an amazing experience at Matcha Cafe Maiko in San Francisco, I was excited to try the one here, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. I ordered the Matcha Latte Float, and it was a bit of a disappointment. It had a grainy texture, almost like there were bits of matcha powder or clumps that didn't fully dissolve, or possibly ice particles from the ice cream. Regardless, when drinking the float, it made the latte feel grainy. The texture was off, and it really disrupted the experience. I also opted for almond milk, which totally ruined the flavor of the latte - it just didn't pair well. Another downside was the dango. Please stay away from this location! Rude owners trying to rip people off! I been to Buford and many other locations all over the US and they all give you the soft serve in a medium glass cup but here no you get a kid cup and they charge the same price! Blame it on inflation? More like rip off! To get the original amount they the owner tells you to pay $2.50 more lmao... super sad as this place is one if my dessert spots ever!
