It is in Norwalk, close to the Riverwalk, and the space had a cool, relaxing feel. Even though it was hot outside, the outdoor seating was not too bad. There was plenty of seating, and since it was not too crowded when we went, we got service quickly. The staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered a variety of items from the menu. The fries were especially good, and the corn off the cob was a standout as well. I had the pan-seared salmon, which was an interesting dish, but good. I would not say they had a huge variety of gluten-free options, but there were enough choices that I did not feel completely limited. Overall, it was a nice spot for a relaxed meal with friends.

The food at Oak + Almond is consistently excellent, with large portions providing good value, and this visit was no exception. Appetizer highlights included Brussels sprouts and octopus. My first meal was the Caesar salad, which was outstanding. The poached egg was cooked perfectly with that soft, medium‑boiled center I love. The Parmesan was fresh, the dressing was balanced, and the grilled chicken was a generous, well‑seasoned portion. Simple, clean, and delicious. The ambience is a huge part of the charm -- a cozy, wood‑cabin feel with a great bar setup. You can get full service at the bar, enjoy top‑shelf drinks, and watch the TVs without it feeling like a sports bar. It's a comfortable mix of locals and travelers, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. Benny behind the bar was great, and he made the experience even better with fun conversation and excellent service. For dinner, I tried the pasta with sausage, which was flavorful without being overly salty. You can tell they use quality ingredients. The mussels were a standout -- the broth was clean and delicious, with a white‑wine base, a touch of tomato, fresh herbs, and just the right kick from jalapeño. One of the best mussel dishes I've had in a while. The wine selection was also very good and paired nicely with the dishes I tried. After several meals back‑to‑back, I can confidently say this place delivers every time. Great food, great service, great vibe. I'll definitely keep coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a consistently excellent dining experience

There was street parking when we got there but they also have valet and some self parking in the back. As we walked in, the ladies at the host stand were so warm and inviting. They were also the cutest ever. They encouraged us to sit out on the patio versus the bar so we headed upstairs. Our waitress came over with menus and it went downhill from there. She was so inattentive that we had to ask the other waiter for things we needed. He was engaging, checked on us and we even chatted about his Jordanian heritage and my trip there back in December. Our actual waitress, however, checked on the table next to us 6 times (yes I counted) in between her checking on us. Even when I ordered a mocktail, I guess they didn't have the one I wanted so she brought me an entirely different drink without asking me. Then got upset when I didn't want it. The absolute audacity. As far as the food, we got the crab cake, lamb, whipped mashed potatoes and the bread. The food was good but the bread took it to another level. It should have been complimentary though but that's neither here nor there. Overall, loved the experience but wish we had another waitress. She didn't even acknowledge my friend's birthday. Sigh.

It also gives off a vibrant and relaxed vibe on the outdoor patio overlooking the waterfront. Ambiance rate: 8/10. The food my friends and I ordered: 1. R.I. Style Calamari: These were delicious! The sauce made it extremely flavorful! However, I wish it was a bigger portion and less amount of banana peppers. Rate 7/10. 2. Lobster Roll: This dish was yummy! The lobster tasted fresh and the bread was soft and but. However, I would've preferred for the roll to be warm, instead of cold. Plus, the fries on the side were mediocre. Rate 7/10. 3. Roasted Branzino: This entrée was tasty, especially the sauce it was doused in. A major dislike about this dish is how it's completely filled with bones in every bite. That part made it very difficult to eat. Rate 6/10. 4. Seared Sea Scallops: This dish was very scrumptious! The scallops were soft and the sauce was delectable! Rate 8.5/10. The staff were friendly, and the service was moderately quick. Staff/service rate 6.5/10. Overall, this is a nice place to enjoy a nice dinner for any occasion if you're in the area!
