But we weren't able to pay for our utilities and a couple of extra things that Minnex charges all of their tenants for whether you want them or not. They lied to the owner of the duplex that we're renting, and told them that we weren't paying our rent to get us evicted. Thankfully we had some help that prevented that from happening. They are frequently overcharging me every month but they refuse to tell me what the extra charges are for. The last time I emailed them asking what the extra are for, they lied to me about what the charges are for and then they added almost $100 of charges for utilities that I've already paid for and have proof that I've already paid for those utilities. They're trying to charge me for the past 5 months for utilities that I've already paid for. We can't afford all of these extra random charges in the first place but not knowing what the charges are even for is extremely suspicious. If you submit a maintenance request, they'll charge you around $100 for sending someone there, even if they don't do anything at all. I had no clue that I'm supposed to change the filter for my a/c and heater unit. Our heater stopped working in December so I submitted a maintenance request for it. They sent a guy here who told me that I need to replace the filter. That's all he did. They charged me $100 for that. In June, after we've lived here for a year and a half, we didn't have hot water anymore. They sent a guy here to tell me that our gas was turned off. Minnex turned it off but still sent someone here to tell me our gas was turned off. Another $100. They lied and said that I was supposed to set up an account with Atmos to pay our gas bill when we first moved in. They never told me that. We paid Minnex for our gas for a year and a half. It was never turned off until that time. If we were supposed to set up an account with Atmos and pay them all along, our gas would've been turned off a long time ago instead of after a year and a half. They said it's in my lease, but it's not. Then they sent someone with Atmos here the next day to turn our gas back on. Another $100. Now that I've set up an account with Atmos, I have to pay Atmos about $150 for the new account. We don't want to submit maintenance requests anymore because of how much extra they charge for sending someone here, even if they don't do anything. They also charge us $25 a month for a discount program that we don't want but we have to pay for it. And we don't use it. One time a next door neighbor left a mattress leaning up against our gate. They tried to charge us $75 twice for it. I provided proof twice that it wasn't ours and explained that the neighbors left it leaning up against the fence next to our duplex. They still tried to charge us twice for it. I thought I prevented it from happening but since they're constantly overcharging us random things and refuse to explain what extra charges are for, they probably ended up charging us for it anyway. When I've requested a breakdown of how much I've paid on my utilities in the past, they refused to provide it, saying that they can't because it's allocated. I'm a outpatient with Star Care and when my caseworker there asked for a breakdown of what we've paid for our utilities, they still refused to provide what we've paid every month, saying again they can't provide it because our utilities are allocate because we live in a duplex. There's absolutely no reason to refuse to provide how much I've already paid for our utilities. They do this so that they can charge whatever they want to charge and get away with it. Minnex also adds late fees to my bill before it's even the first of the month, before late charges are supposed to be added to my bill. I think late charges are suppose to be added on the 3rd of each month but they've always added late fees before the 1st of the month. Before I was able to use a payment system called Flex, I'd pay half of my rent with one paycheck and the rest with the next paycheck, they'd add excessive late fees and they were always threatening to evict us at least once a month. I don't recommend anyone renting from Minnex. At the time, we didn't have a choice but we do now. Even when we moved in to this duplex, they were unfair to us. Apparently the previous tenants didn't turn in their mailbox keys so I had to pay $30 to get new mailbox keys because they had to change the lock. I had nothing to do with the previous tenants not turning in their keys. Minnex refused to pay for it and they said that if I wanted to get our mail, I had to pay for the new keys.

I have been living in a rental from RPMS for about 4 years now and I have to say, they are some of…read morethe best "landlords" I have ever had. My previous rentals were kind of nightmarish, and so having a very professional staff is a nice change. Anytime I have a maintenance request, the turnaround is QUICK, like 24 hours quick. I could put in a request on Monday and someone is either out that same day or the next, without fail. My AC unit was on its last leg and was not cooling properly. Outside temps were 100+ They sent techs out quickly and they did all they could, but the AC unit had to be replaced. AC company submitted their proposal and it was approved right away. They came out and swapped out the unit 2 days later. Done and Done. I also love that they when they do an inspection, they give you ample notice (like weeks out) and let you pick a block of times that are convenient for you, if you choose to be there. The inspections are also less than 10 minutes! Quick like a bunny! Love it! I honestly have never had such great service renting a property, EVER. Paying rent is absolutely hassle free, and any questions I have are answered FAST. As long as I am in Lubbock, and renting, I will def try to stay with them as I have had nothing but a positive experience, on many different facets.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE i lived in one of their properties in wolfforth with my husband and my infant…read moreit was not a safe place to live for my 4 month old or me being a stay at home mother first thing we had to deal with when we moved in was them trying to charge me for plumbing issues that we didn't cause when we had lived there for 1 week. Then shortly after our heater would go out every month for about 4 months it once went out at night and there so called emergency number that we called was not in service. Upon moving in i contacted garret about mold spots in the bathrooms keep in mind they were in my INFANTS bathroom and he was very dismissive and told me to clean them myself. Another situation at this property happened when i was walking to my unit form my car and a elderly man from the assisted living behind me followed me and my infant to my unit and started banging on my doors and windows trying to get to us I called the police and called garret to tell him we were not safe in this unit and if there was a way that we could exit our lease and he was very dismissive again and told me it was not allowed because it wasn't considered a reason to break our lease. The last situation i went through was when wolfforth had a huge storm and my window along with several other tenants windows were shattered allowing bugs and water to enter. The whole time we were here the unit was invested with bugs i would have to sweep multiple dead bugs everyday. We did break our lease in order to have a safe living space for my infant this was never acceptable and will never be acceptable. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. i've never written a review before but i am writing this to hopefully help new parents and families so they don't put themselves or children in danger. The pictures i have included are screenshots of videos i have taken.

Take pics before and after your move, so you can have proof. After you move out, take your contract, pics and go see your Small Claims Court judge. From previous tenants, they say they were all scammed out of their deposit and the apartments were filthy when they moved in, so they werent sure what the professional cleaning crew did to earn the Tenants deposit $. Unfair business practices need to be stopped. Remember your college business law classes. If its not in the contract, it doesn't matter and have proof (hence the pics) of what you are saying. Granted her apartments are cheap, so that may make up for you losing your $250 deposit. It is almost impossible to study with the thin walls and their location so next to a major interstate. It is definitely hard to sleep. My kids ended up sleeping over at one of their buddies house most of the time...

At the time I worked at the police department, called a PD friend of mine at the time to get her removed from my living room. She threatened to call the mayor and file a formal complant until my officer friend got in her face and told her something that I didn't hear... needless to say she never messed with me again. She is a horrible landlord and I would never recommend anyone to either rent from her or to purchase a house from her. She is NOT the business woman she claims to be!

Because she refused to renew our lease, we ended up homeless from April 2024 to February 2025. The weekend that we were supposed to move out, I was so extremely stressed out that I passed out and called 911 so that an ambulance could take me to the ER. When I passed out, I scraped my head on some wooden furniture as I fell to the floor so I was concerned about having a concussion. So we were unable to move out that day. That was a Friday. We move all of our furniture out the next day, a Saturday. We spent the rest of Saturday moving our stuff out. On Sunday, we were able to get 1 load of stuff out of our duplex. After dropping that stuff off at a storage unit, we stopped at a convenience store to get me some Power Aid to make sure I was hydrated because that was one of the reasons that I passed out. When we got back to the duplex to finish gathering the rest of our things, sentimental belongings from my parents, including a Dyson vacuum cleaner that I got from my mom and stuff that my dad had given me before he passed away. But Carrie had changed the locks on the door to the duplex so we were unable to get the rest of our belongings, even though I provided her proof that I was in the ER on Friday when we were supposed to be moving out. We're victims of domestic violence that's still happening today. As I said before, we lost my daddy very unexpectedly a few years before. My former "brother" is a major narcissist. I'm always comparing him to David Koresh because of his brainwashing capabilities and his ginormous fake persona. He moved my mom halfway across the country from us, to South Carolina. We haven't been able to talk to her in over 2 years now. She has dementia and his plan was for her to forget us and it's working. So losing things that she gave us before she was moved so far away from us is heartbreaking as well. But Carrie and McDougal don't care!!!!! I seriously do NOT recommend renting from them!!!!! We won't be notified when my mom passes and we can't go to her memorial service for our safety. We seriously need to move from Lubbock for our safety but we can't afford to move and all organizations that claim they help victims of domestic violence refuse to help us. We won't even get my inheritance. David Koresh Jr. is using it to pay for her extremely expensive assisted living facility in Myrtle Beach. He's lied to everyone who works there about me and they refuse to let me talk to my mom. But as typical with narcissists, he changes everything to make me out to be the villain and to make him out to be the victim. And no, we can't afford a lawyer to help us.
