McDougal Realty is a huge nightmare to deal with!!! We rented duplex from them. Carrie Broadus was our landlord. She was constantly harassing and bullying me about everything, especially our rent. I've been unemployed since July of 2023 and she has done nothing but harass me, bully me and talk down to me. And because I do NOT like that, NO ONE LIKES BEING TREATED THAT WAY, she refuses to allow us to renew our lease. She has been an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE TO DEAL WITH!! Her rental properties sit vacant for a very long time. You'd think that she'd be grateful to have people wanting to live here and pay rent. But she's obsessed with being controlling and being a major bully. I feel bad for the idiots who are ignorantly paying this bully to rent their properties for them because she does a horrible job!!! And now she's lying, saying that she refused to renew our lease because of too many late payments. She had to come up with something so that I can't sue her. I'm going to anyway because even I passed out and had to go to the ER 2 days before we had to move out, she only let us go back to the duplex to get one more carload of things. Then while we were putting that stuff into a nearby storage unit and getting me some Gatorade at the nearby Circle K to make sure that I didn't pass out again, she changed the locks on the door. I was unable to get the broken Dyson vacuum cleaner that was my mom's before my former brother and his 2nd wife went behind my back and moved my mom halfway across Texas and now halfway across the country from us and we'll probably never see her alive again. And we were unable to get some things that were my dad's. He passed away from leukemia in September of 2020. I'm just waiting for her to try to collect money for us not cleaning the duplex well enough, even though she's the one who changed the locks on the door. Yes, I sent her proof of when I passed out and had to go to the ER, paperwork that I received when I left the ER, as well as pictures of my injuries, which included a black right eye, a busted bottom lip and a scrape on my head that I got when I faceplanted onto the carpet in front of my wooden dresser. She allowed us to access the duplex 1 more time before she changed the locks on the door. That's extremely evil, cruel and unprofessional. Now we are homeless and are having to pay to stay at a hotel temporarily. That's an extremely evil person to do that to us, especially after I passed out and spent all day at the ER a couple of days before we were supposed to be out of that duplex. I sent her pictures of some of the paperwork from the ER as well as pictures of my black and bruised right eye, my busted lip and the scrape on my head from my head hitting and sliding down my wooden dresser as I passed out. This has been the worst experience I have ever had renting a home. My room had no A/C no heating, I had pests like mice and cats wander through my home. Still I stayed and fixed all of those issues myself. At one point they brought me steel wool, but that was the extent of their help. It's really saddens me to say that Mcdougal does not care for people who are renting homes at all. They called me a liar for saying that I tried contacting them even though I have phone records proving other wise. Please go somewhere else. Location rentals will treat you much better. read more

Our McDougal associate, Randall Zamora, is pushy, unprofessional, and rude to prospective buyers. After speaking to such a buyer after the deal soured, we learned that the deal only fell through because Zamora was rude and disrespectful. He followed his own agenda without really listening to his customer's needs. I do not recommend him, at all. read more

We found this company - particularly the property management department - to be rude, unprofessional, and lacking in integrity. Communication was incredibly poor, there were many administrative errors (magical accounting errors in their favor) that took far too long to resolve - in part due to the aforementioned communication problems. We were charged for work we never authorized and tenants made changes to our properties - some of them structural - for which they were never charged. We only discovered the changes after removing our properties from under their purview. I absolutely would not recommend doing business with this company.
