Came here on a lunch break. Five stars for a simple, inexpensive, quick, and yummy meal! The woman at the counter was friendly and she was also the one to cook the food. Queen shit. I got a shrimp bowl, which was 3 skewers of 3 shrimp on a bed of white rice with some cabbage. Super simple, but tasty, juicy shrimp at $10 in 2025 is fine with me. You can add a salad and miso soup for $3, or get a plate which comes with other stuff. I also got potstickers, which were crispy and delicious even without a sauce. Ambiance was simple and spare, nobody else in the restaurant. Clearly labeled menus and a clean interior. No bathrooms that I noticed, but maybe I missed it. How have I lived here 5 years and not known this place existed?! It's a cute little hole in the wall Japanese Teriyaki place. I got the house plate which includes chicken, steak, and shrimp. It also comes with a small side of noodles potato salad. The meat lays on top of steamed rice. It's a pretty large portion for $13.50. They were very busy when I arrived on a Saturday at 4pm and my food came out in less than 5 minutes. They also do party platters and serve boba as well. I ordered the chicken and beef combination plate, which comes on top of a bed of rice with noodles, cabbage, potato salad, and an orange slice. The chicken and beef were both excellent. They also give you very little for the chicken plate portion, but it tastes ok. You can get better portion and food taste better at flame broiler or waba grill at a lesser cost. It came with noodles, which I couldn't eat because it smelled strange, so I simply dumped it. The side of potato's also didn't taste fresh- went to trash. Tempura was the only good thing. This is a great small place to just get some casual Japanese food. I got the cutlet plate and it comes with a good amount of cutlet, rice, yakisoba, scoop of mash potatoes, and a salad. Everything tasted good and fresh as I even heard them fry the cutlet as I waited. The only problem with the food was that the cutleg was very thin and thus did not taste as good or was as juicy as other cutlets I've had from other places. The prices are comparable to other Japanese places as of right now but its a shame as this place used to be the most affordable japnese place out of all of them near me. I always support pop and mom shop who is trying to do honest business and hard work. I got the Taro Smoothies with boba. It was $3.50 before tax. Cannot adjust sweetness but it was not too bad. I've been coming here for 28 years now. The only reason it gets a 4 and not a 5 star is when ownership changed 7 years ago, they changed the teriyaki sauce, why??? They have the recipe, I know because I've asked, but they go with the new "healthier" option. Otherwise, the salad dressing is still one of the best I've ever had. I love their yakisoba Noodles. When I'm eating no carbs, I'll get the salad plates with extra cabbage (mmmmmmm). But if your carb indulging, get the chicken plate (teriyaki or cutlet, both rock) with extra noodles instead of the potato salad (I'm not a fan of potato salad) with extra salad dressing. It's delicious and as you can see in the picture you get all that for $5.99. This place is walking distance from my parents' house and they recently discovered this place and order from them frequently. It's not the best, but it's cheap and close by. I usually get the teriyaki chicken and California roll combo. The chicken is ok, the cali roll is ok. My daughter likes their shrimp plate. I love this place. Its super cheap for great food. Their Japanese Chicken Curry dish is almost as good as the curry house in little tokyo. It was only $4 I was shocked. OMG Then my girlfriend got a combo with tempura shrimp. Really Good stuff. Dipping sauce for the tempura, we upgraded to brown rice and it also came with noodles and potatoe salad.
