Were they going to wait until after Christmas to tell us? We could have bought the same thing on sale at the time of purchase elsewhere and now I can't even buy it in time for Christmas. Tons of sensory stuff - slime, squishies, glitter wands, a massive selection of Nee-Doh, etc etc. They also sell Schleich figurines, bunch of kits/sets for science, magic, gems, etc, and other "regular" toys. We mainly stayed in the toy section, so we didn't venture over to the hobby side, but it looked like there was tons of stuff. Place was clean and well organized. This is my kind of boutique. It's small and quite specialized, and a little on the pricier side, but they have some great stuff. I was particularly impressed with the selection of diaper bags. I've been finding it really hard to find a great looking, functional diaper bag at all, let alone something that's going to work for both me and my husband. They had several in our allotted diaper bag budget that fit the bill. They also had the cuts selection of wooden soother clips. The girl working was very helpful and willing to answer questions while still giving us space to browse on our own, which I appreciate. Some places find it hard to strike that balance. And, if I find they had something I can't get anywhere else, I will definitely kae the trip back to Summerside to pay them a visit. Well done.

But then I turned around, and a set of giant boobs, at least giant in a miniature sense, were staring me right in the face. It was Japanese sexism in woman characters at its best. These were action figures of various characters--I think some of them might have been from video games--that were hyper-sexualized and wearing very little clothing. In fact, in some cases the figures wore no clothing, and only their hands covered the places that separate this from being pornographic. But before I go too much on a feminist rant, I did find some other really cool stuff here. Everything in this store is imported from Asia. I found all this awesome Nintendo merchandise like Mario, Yoshi, and Princess keychains, key-lights, and wallets. I wanted to buy so many of these things, and I'm already thinking about Christmas presents for people (and myself!). They even had a little stuffed doll of Domokun--you know that cute, brown character from that popular poster that says, "Every time you masturbate... God kills a kitten - Please, think of the kittens." I really wanted to buy him, to always remind me not to masturbate. Since I couldn't find it, I asked the sales associate if they had it. He checked with another associate and yes, they had it. They didn't have a dedicated hanger for it and it was behind another product. The packaging looked worn like it had been there for a year, or years. The last time I went, I bought a model paint rack for my husband as a gift. I asked the associate where it was as I thought this would save time than me trying to find it. They only had one left and the box was dented it but it had plastic covering it. The words on the box were written in Japanese but I hoped it wouldn't require much assembly. There always seems to be enough staff available to ask for help, if needed. The prices seem a little high but being in the mall, I would expect a bit of a mark up. I don't think the return policy is great, but then again, they wouldn't want people opening products or using them and then bringing them back. Decent store for those who like models and needs supplies, board games, and anime products.

I was concerned that I was not in good frame of mind to conduct business with specific and costly art framing services, but I needed to use my day off to get it done... The framing staff member Kianna, was exemplary. She was extremely courteous and used her expertise to help me with my price consciousness and particular aesthetic interests. She was not condescending in any way and explained very clearly what her processes were and listened to what I was saying regarding my needs, hopes and timelines. She paid attention and came with suggestions and guidance in a way which showed me that she had my interests in mind. If I were to show or share to any service people what I would want and expect in really good customer service, I would playback the experience I had. In fact, I left feeling redeemed because she also clued me into the sale/deal which was within my timeline forthcoming and saved me a huge amount (not even kidding). It is hardly ever which I would go out of my way to share positive review of corporate chain stores, but, as they say, it is people which make the business good bad or in this case great. Everything from stationary (I am in love with the journals they sell) to decorative pillows, air plants to jewelry... This has become the go-to stop for all my gifting needs. Staff here are definitely passionate about the locally made movement, and are often makers themselves. I've found they are always willing to help you out, without being pushy about making sales goals; they want you to leave happy and excited about your purchase and possibly even with the story behind how it was made.
