The company caused mold damage to my house and ignores me after reporting the issue. Mastercraft Roofing replaced my roof a couple years ago and forgot to install the bathroom ventilation. I did not discover this until a contractor was doing some work on my house. It appears that Mastercraft Roofing just left the bathroom ventilating to the attic and caused some serious mold damage. I reached out to Jaime in a professional manner to report the issue and he said he would get back to me. It has been 5 days since my initial conversation and he ignoring my phone call, text, and email. It appears the company is not taking responsibility for their actions and at this point, if feels as if their warranty has no value. read more

Got a recommendation through a friend and contacted Jaime back in August 2024 regarding a nonurgent, but needing repair issue. He had come over to assess the problem, gave me a rundown of what needed to be done and said he'd provide a quote in the coming days. Got a good sense about him initially, but days became months. Texted back and forth over a few months and each time he said that he may have some time in the next week. After a few months of this back and forth, I called the company line and spoke with a receptionist who mentioned that she'll forward the message on to Jaime. Never heard back again. Writing this at the end of February 2025. He may have been good to others, but I've so far had a very poor experience in communication and follow-up. read more

Well...they did it again! MASTERCRAFT is did a great job at our house about 5 years ago and is currently wrapping up a great job at a friend's house. Jaime is a really solid-to the best of my knowledge-person...personable...takes times to explain and also to answer any questions, is someone who cares about his customers and worked with us (and our friend who has MASTERCRAFT currently hired) to provide the products and service we were looking for...he is extremely knowledgeable and does not do the hard sales press, rather works to his customers' satisfaction. Now, a caveat on the 5 stars...I was tempted to go to 4, but understand... this is a small company and I believe Jaime personally is involved in every project he and his crew take on...that means, he might forget about something, he might call and let you know he's running late because he got tied up longer than expected...or will need to reschedule...but that is the only reason I'd knock it back...and I did not, because... ...in the end, if you're looking for someone who is solid, fair, understanding, and ready to serve his customers, it's my experience that you'll find anyone better...we ended up having ten (10) contractors meet with us and provide estimates for our roof replacement, prior to getting the work done...I never expected to get that many estimates and didn't really want to either, but the "static" we got from some contractors kept me pushing to try others that were not on my original "shortlist"...Mastercraft was neither the least expensive nor the most expensive, but they seemed by far the most even-minded, level in listening to our needs, providing exactly what we asked for...and doing a great job in the process... read more

When water started dripping out of the can light above my kitchen counter, I knew it was time for a new roof. I interviewed 5 different companies and selected the best: MasterCraft Roofing based in Maple Valley. Owner Jaime Hernandez and his crew just finished my brand new, beautiful roof. They are real craftsmen. They were professional, capable, fastidious, courteous and respectful. They were mindful of every little detail. AND they're nice guys! It's been a very rainy season, and Jaime and I were waiting for two straight days without rain. Jaime sent one of his crew over to cover half my house with a tarp. I could then relax hearing the downpours knowing that the house wouldn't have further damage before the new roof could go on. With a couple of known leaks, I figured there would be some repair necessary. As it turned out, there was much more repair needed than we had realized. Jaime's crew was able to do the structural repairs, and then keep right on working. Jaime has his own metal shop, so the flashing and vents are all made in-house. After day one, they realized they needed a custom piece, so they were able to make it that night and bring it the next day for installation. (During this pandemic time with supply chain shortages, there would have been quite a wait if they had had to special-order this piece.) At the end of each day, the crew used their magnet to pick up stray nails, and cleaned away the roofing debris. At the very end of the job, one crew member stayed to do a thorough cleaning of gutters, walkways, parking area and driveway, complete with using a blower, leaving the place pristine. I now have a new Malarkey-brand roof with a long warranty on materials and workmanship. I won't have to think about my roof ever again. I'm so happy with my decision to work with Jaime and MasterCraft Roofing. When choosing a roofing company, it's about so much more than just price! Jaime delivers the "so much more". Once we decided to go with their company they were able to start working within a week. The roof removal was quick (one day). The installation of the new roof including fixing fascia was approximately three days. They brought their own portable restroom and cleaned up the debris from their work. We had MasterCraft Roofing install our roof and a couple of skylights on April 2018. A month after they were done, we tried contacting them because we had a concern with our skylight, but we couldn't get a hold of Jamie Hernandez, the owner. We called, we texted, we emailed, and left numerous messages about our concern. There is something visually wrong with the skylight, and the company says they guarantee their work, which sounds like a lie, because today, March 2019, we finally got to talk to him and he told us that if he sends someone to take a look at our skylight and nothing is wrong with it, then he will charge us $250. That is such bad customer service that I would NEVER recommend them to my family and friends. We're very disappointed with MasterCraft Roofing. read more

MasterCraft just this week installed a new Certentied TL roof. Their workmanship and methods amaze. The tabs are in line, the felt fasteners are sealed, new flashing installed and clean up wonderful. I never had to pick up anything a nail, shingles, and removed roofing. They took good care of our plants and shrubs. Jamie sent Juan out an hour after we talked to take a look. Juan spent three hours to replace the flashing and any shingles that were affected. Hi Everyone, I have never been more pleased with the service MasterCraft roofing has provided. We on a small single level rambler in Renton Highlands. The roof was changed just before we moved there, and was about 20 year old. My insurance co required the roof to be repaired or replaced. MasteCraft roofing replaced the weakened plywood and installed the proper vapor barrier and new shingles. I did not have to replace the entire roof. I never knew there was such a thing as an honest and competent roofing contractor until I worked with Jaime and his team. All other builders wanted to replace our whole roof for one little leak. Jaime was the only one who would find the leak, repair it and then guarantee his work for 10 years. This cost us a fraction of what the other guys were quoting and we are more than satisfied with the results. When we had a smaller leak on another roof Jaime came out during one of his busiest times of the year to look at it. These guys will leave you for better opportunities. I paid for a minor repair plus roof assessment and pics and they said they'd get back to me with a quote for further work. After 2 weeks of no contact, I called and emailed to find out when I'd get the promised quote. Was promised a reply by the next day, but nothing for a week. I tried multiple emails and phone calls and no reply. Not impressed in the least. I created a Yelp account just to write this it was so frustrating. read more
