Momoyama Ramen & Hawaiian BBQ - Short ribs

I've been coming to this location for quite some time, and hadn't been in a while and was in the…read morearea. I'm so happy I stopped back in. I ordered the Akamaru Modern Ramen, the BBQ short rib plate, and the mango shaved ice everything was absolutely delicious. The short ribs were incredibly tender and flavorful, paired perfectly with rice and their macaroni salad, which is surprisingly SO good because I normally don't even like macaroni salad from restaurants. The ramen was rich, comforting, and full of flavor as always. The mango shaved ice was refreshing and came topped with popping mango pearls and mochi, which made it even better. The ambiance is nice bright and decorative. Clean. The service is always great, and Jimmy always remembers me and is so welcoming every time I come in. The ladies in the front are pleasant and everyone teams up to ensure you have a pleasant dining experience. Everybody I've brought here ends up loving this place too. My total was about $55, and since I paid cash, I even got a little discount, which was a nice bonus. Definitely one of my favorite spots! If you go, I hope you enjoy it like I do.

Worth reconsidering this place…read more We just reached out to place a large order because we love the food so much. We frequently order from here but wanted to try something new. When we called in to confirm that the Udon noodles do NOT have egg (as we have a child with an egg allergy), the woman taking our order curtly said "I threw out the box, it's white, you have to look for yourself." When we mentioned we do not know the brand to look, she replied "me neither, I threw out the box." Needless to say - the food is great, but honestly, the family owned business officially sucks. There's a way to respond to things and that just isn't it. Especially as someone taking orders. So thank you for ending this streak for us. The crap service made it easy to make this place a 1 star.

I honestly had a really good experience at Seven Seas Mediterranean Seafood Restaurant. The vibe…read morewas chill and welcoming as soon as I walked in, nothing too fancy but still really nice and comfortable. The staff were super friendly and checked in just enough without being annoying. The food was the best part for sure. Everything tasted fresh and actually well-seasoned, especially the seafood. You can tell it's not just thrown together--it had that real Mediterranean flavor. The portions were good too, I definitely left full. There's also a nice variety on the menu, so it's easy to find something you'll like. Overall, it's a really solid spot. If you're into seafood or just want something different with good flavor, I'd definitely recommend it. I'd go back for sure.

We were looking to try a different restaurant this weekend, and decided to try Seven Seas…read more We started with a yummy roasted eggplant remoulade with tomato. I put it on the fresh pita and it was an excellent starter. We ordered the Caesar Salad - it was very good - fresh, green leafy lettuce - crispy croutons, a sprinkling of grated cheese, and a delicious dressing. Next up, the Crab Bisque. I lived in Maryland for 30 years and had crab bisque many, many times. This was the first crab bisque that wasn't tomato based - it was a brownish, creamy version. It was more like chowder - although when I looked up 'bisque', it most certainly can be creamy. I might have been fine with the 'creamy version', but it lacked any crab flavor and had no crab in it - not one shred. I've never had any fish soup that had no fish in it. I took a few spoonfuls and left it. My partner tried it and came to the same conclusion. The entrees came next - I got the Seared Branzino and my partner got the Shrimp and Scallops. The Seared Branzino was okay - there were bites where I had a very fishy taste - and it was a very small piece of fish. My partner's Shrimp and Scallops came with steamed garlic spinach and mashed potatoes. The Scallops were tender and cooked perfectly - they were in a delicious sauce and had a very nice sear. However, the Shrimp were tough and chewy - we were both very surprised to have one item (scallops) so good, and another (shrimp) on the same plate, that was so bad. The steamed garlic spinach and mashed potatoes were very good. While our Caesar salad, Scallops and side dishes were very good, the rest of the meal was lacking.

On to the food, I went with the Shrimp Scampi, now I must say the shrimp was actually quite delish, you can get it either fried or grilled. The pasta however was confusing, let me explain, this is not my first rodeo ordering Shrimp Scampi and when it came out, I initially thought they served me the wrong meal as I was expecting white garlic sauce, or something more reminiscent of what I am accustomed to when ordering SS. I have included a picture of what it looks like so you can form your own opinion, it was decent, but I would not order it from here if I came back. My gf ordered some sort of tuna that looked like sushi grade sashimi tuna. She said it was good. Now here is the kicker, if I were to come back and order let's say steak for instance, all of their steaks are priced at $50+. I am not running back at those price points. I must comment on their signature drink; it is a take on the Stoli Doli pineapple infused vodka that is normally served at capital grille. I was not a fan as it didn't taste like it was mixed well. I also found it extremely confusing how their "signature" drink" can be an item that is served at an entirely different restaurant, unless they own both restaurants I feel like that could even make them liable in a court, but again what do I know, I know I won't be getting that cocktail again here that much I know. Their other staple is the cornbread appetizer at $20. I did not indulge but if you want the real experience of their signature items that is the other "signature" item. I enjoyed the meal but with so many restaurants close by I do not see myself coming back anytime soon. As always people SYOY!!!

We tried 6 apps/small plates instead of ordering meals as we just couldn't decide! The brussels and the kung pao cauliflower are the highlights. Second place would be the patatas bravas and the chicken skewers, with the lamb lollipops and prosciutto wrapped shrimp came in 3rd. It must have just been a me thing - as the lamp lollipops are very popular. Very creative cocktail list, and thoughtful wine options. Service was very good, and we enjoyed our server and her trainee. The acoustics are loud, and the tables feel just a little too close to each other. Creme brulee and a cookie to go, they were good. Very fresh berries on the creme brulee.

However... the steak I had was completely flavorless.. at least try and dust it with a little salt? I dunno... flavorless. The asparagus was like eating toothpicks. Also lacking flavor. The frites were ok.. seasoned well.. actually the best part of the meal, unfortunately. For the amount of money you charge, bring back the flavor. This is strike 2 in the last year ( we started coming here a few years back) and unfortunately I don't think we'll be coming back. It's a shame, because the place was once great.

Dave's Hot Chicken

Dave's Hot Chicken

Why Dave's Hot Chicken in Willow Grove Is So Good…read more There are a lot of restaurants in the world. There are fancy restaurants, fast-food restaurants, pizza places, burger places, sandwich shops, and restaurants that somehow charge twenty dollars for a plate of food that leaves you hungry ten minutes later. But every once in a while, a restaurant comes along that makes you stop and think, "How is this chicken actually this good?" For me, that place is Dave's Hot Chicken in Willow Grove. Located on Park Avenue in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, Dave's Hot Chicken has managed to turn something as simple as fried chicken into an entire experience. From the crispy chicken to the fries, the sauce, the pickles, and the different levels of spice, almost everything about the meal works together perfectly. The First Bite One of the best things about Dave's Hot Chicken is the first bite. You can smell the food before you even start eating it. The chicken looks crispy, seasoned, and ready to destroy any hunger that you had five minutes earlier. When you finally take that first bite, you get the crunch of the outside followed by the juicy chicken inside. That combination is one of the biggest reasons Dave's stands out. Fried chicken can sometimes have a great crust but dry meat, or juicy meat with a boring crust. Dave's manages to make the chicken both crispy and flavorful. The seasoning also gives the chicken its own personality instead of making it taste like ordinary fried chicken. And then there is the heat. The Spice Dave's is not called Dave's Hot Chicken for no reason. One of the coolest parts of the restaurant is that you can choose your spice level. The restaurant offers seven levels, ranging from Not Hot to Reaper. (Dave's Hot Chicken) This makes Dave's different because everyone can have the experience they want. Someone who does not like spicy food can choose something mild, while someone who wants a serious challenge can go much higher. The important thing, though, is that the spice is not the only flavor. Good spicy food should still taste good underneath the heat. Dave's chicken has seasoning and flavor that make the chicken enjoyable even without trying to prove how much spice you can handle. The best part is that eating Dave's does not have to become a competition. You do not have to order the hottest level just because your friends are doing it. You can choose the level that actually tastes best to you. The Sliders Another reason Dave's is so good is the sliders. The sliders combine several different textures and flavors into one sandwich. The chicken goes on a soft potato bun with pickles, kale slaw, and Dave's sauce. (Uber Eats) The potato bun is especially important because it balances out the crispy chicken. You have the crunchy outside of the chicken, the softness of the bread, the crunch of the pickles, and the creaminess of the sauce and slaw. That is what makes the slider more than just "chicken on bread." Every part has a purpose. The pickles add a sharp, sour flavor that cuts through the richness of the chicken. The slaw adds another texture. The sauce brings everything together. Then the chicken provides the main flavor. It is basically a small sandwich that has an entire argument going on inside it about why fried chicken is one of the greatest foods ever invented. The Fries A Dave's meal would not be complete without the fries. Fries might seem like a side dish that does not matter very much, but good fries can make an entire meal better. Dave's fries have seasoning that gives them more flavor than plain fries. The fries also work well with the chicken. You can eat them separately, dip them in sauce, or use them as a break between bites of spicy chicken. Sometimes the fries are even the part of the meal that you unexpectedly start thinking about later. You finish the chicken. You finish the slider. You look down. There are three fries left. And suddenly those three fries are the most important thing in your life. Dave's Sauce Then there is Dave's sauce. A restaurant can have good chicken, but a great sauce can take that chicken to another level. Dave's sauce is creamy, flavorful, and works especially well with the chicken and fries. .
