I had always went here but Never again. This last Thursday my car was towed over for bad breaks they fixed the rear side Only. I called at 830am to let them know the girl who'd initially answered was borederline rude but the real problem is when I got the car back the entire front side of my crv was lowered suspension must've been replaced and they definitely messed with the front side of it switched out the parts It was confirmed by someone who does know about cars since I don't. Impossible to have deteriorated and downright shrunk in size when my car was all stock! I cannot prove bc as clients we come in trusting a legitimate business to be ethical but they just gaslit saying they didn't touch it of course if they hold themselves accountable they'll have to admit someone replaced with older parts! My car battery was about to die this morning. Was lucky to barely get my car started. Drove to Costco to buy a new battery then searched for the nearest decent mechanic shop since Im a dummy when it comes to cars and dodnt want to risk getting myself injured if I messed up. Brought my car to this place and they were super nice in being willing to switch out my dying battery with the new battery completely free of charge on a hot day. Beyond decent people. Well, where to begin... Well, i took my 2016 Fiat 500L in for a routine oil change and shortly after getting my vehicle and driving it the engine shut off... Was able to get the car back to Master Tech. They were able to get the car running and sent me to the Fiat dealer because they were not sure what the issue was. The Fiat dealership found a work glove in the oil pan after taking the oil pan off to see what they could find... Now i have been without a car for quite a while and almost lost my job. Master tech has not said how they will resolve this issue. I will never go back and DO NOT ADVISE ANYONE TO GO THERE... They have never offered any assistance for a rental car or anything just leaving stranded because of one of their employees negligence... COMPLETELY IRRESPONSIBLE.... read more

I had the misfortune of having my car completely die on me while driving down the highway. This was one of the closest shops that the tow truck recommended. I'm so glad he did. They took care of me in a very timely manner. I thought that I was going to need a whole new engine but it turned out it was a simple fix with a different oil filter than what I had been using. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I was "referred" to this business from a local muffler mechanic. I will be writing to him of my experience as well ! Customers shoukd never be "referred" to go here! Front desk clerks no Nothing about cars! Yet they are the only ones who speak to you!! THEY'LL their eyes and act like you are "bothering" them! You Never get to speak to a mechanic! They move at a snails pace when it comes to diagnosing a car! Then have the nerve to have the little girl at front desk call me to, yet Again, explain what was wrong with my car!!! It sat there for 2 days! Nothing was done! I asked for my car back so I can take it to another mechanic who actually appreciates, my time and my vehicle! This place has one of the worst customer service i have ever seen. I went to the shop to get a smog. They could not serve me the same so I made an appointment for 2 Days later. I went there on scheduled date.There was a long wait until i reached the customer service counter. The representative did not seem to care whether someone is waiting. Then the representative went to shop to talk to the mechanic. I was told that machine is not working and they cannot do smog. My concern here is that they did not bother notifying ahead of time. Why waste someone's time when you cannot do the job. It was very easy for them to wash hands with simple "sorry". Never going back even its the last shop in town. read more

Master tech takes the time to fix things right. Recently, I had my 2000 dodge caravan ( I know it is old, but being a wheelchair van conversion, in to replace the fuel pump). Originally, I had a friend do the job, but the pump I purchased did not register the fuel level properly. Mastertech got the replacement part from the parts store I had used and fixed it quickly. Master Tech has been my go to mechanic shop since they opened many years ago. Rich, the owner, has always treated me professionally and honestly. I have always owned old cars, so there are times when my current road warrior has needed a fix. Have appreciated the service that he and his mechanics provide and the straight forward manner in which he lets me know of the current problem with my car, the cost and the timetable when I can expect it to be repaired. Also appreciated is the free lift home and then back to the shop to pick up the car when it is finished. The office staff have been helpful and efficient. OK, don't read any of these reviews. Just walk into their waiting room and read all the love letters to Master Tech that they have posted on their wall. They couldn't have faked all of them, really! There's too many. Seriously, they are honest, and understand the customer who's on a budget, and they always check in with you. If you get multiple estimates, their quote will always be right in there, but they're less expensive because they ONLY REPAIR WHAT'S NECESSARY. Recently I was attempting to smog my vehicle but had a check engine light. Took it in to master tech and was quoted $1,900 for a catalytic converter! I am no mechanic but I'm no moron either. I did some shopping around and found the catalytic converter (a CA carb approved Flowmaster) for $169 on Ebay and the guy at DMC Garage (Kentucky st. Woodland) quoted me SIXTY BUCKS to weld it in! Well before I did this I thought I should go ahead and change my plugs myself and while doing so found a cracked vacuum line which I replaced for 17 cents at O'reilly's. So I reset the engine light drove it to tahoe and back and the light didn't come back on. Went and smogged it today and it passed. Grand total of repairs? $65.17 read more

I'm going to be objective here. My radiator blew out recently and I needed a new one. I brought my vehicle to this auto shop and they wanted to charge me more than $450 to do the repair. Instead, I bought the parts I needed from Napa Auto Parts in Woodland and my father-in-law repaired it for me using the parts I purchased. Altogether the parts from Napa Auto Parts cost me about $220. Every part (radiator cap, the radiator, upper and lower hose) I purchased from Napa Auto Parts was approximately half the cost for the quoted prices I received from Master Tech. I know they're trying to make a profit, but no need to rip off your customers so much and simultaneously try to say you're being honest. Anyone who continues coming here, I feel sorry for them. 12/4/15 I initially came here because one of my clients suggested this place and spoke well about it so I gave it a shot because I'm not from around here and I don't really trust auto shops if I'm not aware of it. My car was overheating at such an alarming rate that I decided to just get it fixed. So I called first. The girl in the front that takes calls was rude but whatever, I got past that. Made my appointment, took my car at 3pm same day and Rich (the owner) seemed very nice. He had a calm demeanor and seemed honest so I trusted him with my car. Turned out that my head gasket wasn't working which caused the car to overheat. Price quote was $1280. Keep in mind, I'm a college student and my parents ain't rich so $1280 was pretty steep but my car needed to get fixed so we went ahead and got it done. Got back the car within a week. I asked for the old parts but I guess they forgot and I didn't receive it. 2 days after I got the car back, I went back home with my parents in southern california for 2 1/2 weeks. Never used my car until I got back in Northern Cali January 2. January 4, 2016 - drove my car to school. My car started stalling and shut down completely. Keep in mind I haven't used the car since I got it back from the shop since it was Christmas Break and I flew home. I was so confused. I literally just got the car back and shit is already happening. Called Rich panicking and said they can't really help me much unless I tow the car and take it to them. So I did. Another problem caused the car to stall and broke down. This time it was the distributor assembly. And in my head I'm just like I literally drove this car twice since I got it back and this is happening? How do I know it wasn't caused by their first repair? The car problems I've had since I took it to master tech was a total domino effect that I had all these questions in my head. The warranty didn't cover anything because apparently it was a separate issue. Cool whatever. I got it done anyway. Threw out another $490 within a few weeks of getting it done the first time around. 3 days later after the repair, my check engine light was on. Took it to the shop infuriated. Offered to look at it for free like it's a gift or something. Another problem suggested. Supposedly my catalytic distributor needs to be replaced which is caused by putting lower quality gas whatever whatever. Quoted me $850 for a new one or a $680 for an aftermarket. Didn't even bother doing anything to my car at this point because I feel like they are fucking my car over and me financially. Definitely not taking my business here again. TOTAL RIP OFF. I will be taking my complaint to the California Business Bureau of Automotive Repair. I'm not the only one on Yelp that has had similar problems. THEY DON'T TAKE THEIR JOB SERIOUSLY. This has been the greatest shop to bring our vehicles to. Our Honda Civic and Toyota Highlander have both had great service here for maintenance or minor repairs. I really appreciate when they told us a couple times when things were not yet needed. We would have paid without question but now we trust them entirely. We went to these guys for a couple of years after moving to Davis. Very reasonably priced and friendly. We felt like "regular customers" and had been there probably 12 times or so. The last time, however, made us look elsewhere. We took the car in for an oil change, and they broke the hood release handle. They initially refused to fix/pay for it, saying that it was old and it was going to break anyway(??). It seemed ridiculous for them to lose loyal customers over something so small. After some heated exchanges, they eventually fixed it for us, but their initial response, coupled with the fact that it's twenty minutes away from our house, made us look for a different mechanic. I do like the pricing of their work, but trying to get an appointment over the phone is non existent. I get put on hold every time for no less than 6 to 8 minutes. If you've ever been on hold for that long, it's an eternity! Especially when there are twenty other oil changing shops in Woodland. I get it, people are busy, but come on! I have been going to Master Tech for about 5 years with all my cars. They are quick, reasonably priced and do good work. There has been a time or two I needed to bring the car back in after a repair and the quickly fixed the problem at no cost. Richard the owner is a good guy, he will tell you straight up whether or not a repair can wait or if it is needed now and most importantly he is HONEST. I could write a bad review for these guys, but I could also write a good one, too. I came back here to get my Acura fixed because it was randomly bogging down and it felt like the fuel was cutting out. It was really intermittent so it really was a pain to diagnose. First time I took it here they had it for 3 days and it was not bogging down for them. I get it back and don't have to pay a penny (woot!!!). When I get home and start it up the next day it ends up doing the same thing, it dies whenever it feels like. ANNOYING So I bring the car back there and leave it with them for a couple more days. They ended up supposedly finding out what it was. They said it was some electrical short in main harness to efi relay circuit. Unfortunately since my car breaking down was an intermittent affair, it was ok for a few days and after I sold the car it started having problems. Good for me, bad for new seller. Would have been bad for me if I kept the car. Anyways, other than them not really fixing my car they were able to inspect my new car I bought since I had some concerns and they had excellent customer service and went over everything with me. 5 stars for customer service, minus 2 for not actually fixing my problem read more

My neighbor had recommended this shop so I thought I would bring my car in for a 90,000 mile service. They accomplished the work in addition to replacing a leaking radiator. The pricing was reasonable and the staff friendly. I got a call that the car was ready so we picked it up and once we pulled it in the garage I noticed a large amount of fluid leaking out from under the car. I opened the hood and to my surprise noticed that the lower radiator hose was partially installed and NOT CLAMPED! Owner, Richard was very apologetic and arranged a tow back to the shop for repair.
