I was pretty sure things had changed a lot there as soon as I walked in, not only because the prices had gone up a lot, but because the owner/waiter spoke Mandarin not Cantonese. But since the noodle shop I used to frequent was closed down and I was craving roast duck that day, I chose to have a roast duck noodle soup there. The roast duck turned out to be an utter disappoinment. It had absolutely no flavour whatsoever. I just could not think of anything I could compliment about the food I was served. Note that I am giving one star based on the only one dish I had there, although I have no faith in any other food on their menu...

Apparently everyone in the area knows the secret. Luckily I was on my own so I got a little table near the counter. immediately I had a menu, a complimentary green tea and a small complimentary soup. After seeing the BBQ ducks hanging in the window I couldn't go past the BBQ Duck Soup. A generous serving of egg noodles and Chinese greens in a big bowl of fairly simple broth, topped off with what must have been almost half a duck! I could hardly get through all the food. It came with a soy dipping sauce and I loaded on the chilli. The food here is simple, delicious and GENEROUS (although I've only tried one dish!). The staff are efficient and friendly. If you're coming with a group I would recommend calling ahead for a table

Actually its the only Ramen place in Westfield Hornsby, and come to think of it, the only Ramen place I know of in Hornsby. The Ramen is pretty good though. Lots of options. I go for the pork one with the chilli soup. They are all good though. There are a few non-ramen options - yakatori sticks, stir fried stuff and the like but for my money, Ramen is the way to go. They also have a sushi stand which is pretty good.

We ordered the cha-siu ramen, beef and vegetables, and combination meat ramen. They cooked the crap out of my egg (dislike), the soup base was delicious (like), the noodles didn't taste completely fresh but it was still yummy (like). I ordered mine with 'extra vegetables' - DO NOT DO THIS! It came laden with a copious amount of .... chopped up cabbage and carrots?? Completely random and in my opinion, not very authentic. I was expecting bean sprouts or bamboo shoots or corn or something. However, my friends had lots of broccoli and bak choy, so i really think it's a random thing. I would definitely not order the same thing (cha siu with extra vegetables) but would return for seconds. Cross fingers for next time!

However when we arrived staff were flustered and took a while to seat customers despite booking a week in advance. Some staff are friendly and others are quite unfriendly. Service is rushed. Dishes come out slowly. First snake beans, then tofu then pork ribs and crispy chicken. Rice and noodles came out last. Best to eat food as it arrives otherwise your first dishes will go cold. Snake beans were delicious with wonderful aroma and flavour. Salt and Pepper Crispy Bean Curd was a favourite -best eaten fresh and hot. Pork ribs had a tasty saucr but pieces were slightly large. Fried pineapple rice was average but interesting flavour combination. Short soup was delicious with 6 wontons per serve. Crispy chicken was succulent and well prepared. Shreaded duck meat noodles were also very tasty with a good balance of ingredients. Overall servings were very generous. We could have fed 6 adults with our order. I recommend booking as it was quite busy on a Wednesday night. I found the air conditioning really cold but other people were fine. It is fairly expensive with each dish being $20 - $30.
