After some research, we decided on Young & Sons, and from our first meeting with Ron, who was a joy to work with, everything about the company and people who are a part of it was five star. Pleasant to work with. Work done on time, and on budget, and the wonderful part of it all - the work they did is amazing, making the repairs seamless, and the refinishing perfect. Our floors look great. I would recommend Young & Sons without hesitation.

It can be complicated dealing with contractors but i felt truly safe with Jack there. He and his team are honest, loyal and truly great craftsmen. His guys are all total professionals, and also extremely nice people. Howard painted the entire exterior of our house, as well as most of the interior. He also completely renovated and painted our kitchen. He refinished our existing 90 year old original hardwood floors in our dining room, and patched in new hardwood in the kitchen to match the dining room. He re-did our living room fireplace with stone, which had been a bad 80's style blue tile. He replaced well over a dozen ceiling fans or light fixtures. He also replaced our upstairs balcony that had dry rotted, as well as our back deck that had the same problem. He also built a gate, trellis and covered patio/ grill area in our backyard. Overall, the quality of the work done was amazing. Unlike our neighbors, who's renovation has stopped and started multiple times over the last year or so (and is still not done despite starting earlier than ours and being less overall work), Howard and his guys told us the plan, got in, executed it quickly and perfectly, and got out. Despite the amount of work done, we were able to comfortably live in our house while it was happening, largely due to the care the workers took in making our space as liveable as possible at the end of every day. When we initially sought bids for the work on our house, we did our diligence and received three quotes. Howard's was the most expensive of the three, but the details he spelled out, the questions he asked, and the top-notch professionalism he displayed made picking him easy despite the price. In the end, it was the correct choice and I'm incredibly happy we hired McKenzie Finishes for our house. In addition to Howard, a great deal of credit is due to the employees and sub-contractors he works with. Ramiro, Javier, Abraham, Peter, Jose (x2), Julio, Brizio, and the other guys who's names I'm forgetting are all dedicated professionals and were a pleasure to work with.

They were under budget and on schedule until 2 (TWO!) shelter-in-place forced shutdowns (one that lasted more than a month). Bryan and his crew worked closely with us to make sure we had a functioning kitchen during the monthlong stoppage. And after work was allowed to resume, they quickly and efficiently completed the project. There were roughly 6 crew members who worked on our house at different stages and they--along with the office support (Carolyn and Renee)--were extremely skilled, courteous, and helpful. What was perhaps most impressive was how they worked out any issues that arose during construction. Bryan and his crew always offered options or suggestions. Special thanks to the expertly skilled workers including Eladio, Luis, Jose, Roma,n and Ivan for their pleasant nature and their fine work. Their communication throughout the pandemic -- and the entire process -- was crucial as we navigated all the protocols and changes, and as a result of their fine efforts they created a much larger, functional, and beautiful kitchen and dining area. The only issue that arose was the selection of Absolute Flooring, which ended up charging far more than envisioned for work that was only "fair." But the rest of Bodas Construction's work exceeded all expectations, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone planning a remodel.

From demolition to final walkthrough, the experience was seamless, professional, and stress-free thanks to their exceptional attention to detail. Communication was excellent throughout the entire process. Every update, change, and decision was clearly and promptly communicated, making it easy for us to stay informed about the progress. We always felt that our concerns were heard and addressed even when we decided to add a separate bathroom upgrade that wasn't in the original scope. Our project was impressively organized from coordinating trades to managing the timing of materials and appliance deliveries. The timeline we were given was realistic and well managed, and they stayed on schedule without ever compromising on quality. When we started planning, many of our friends related horror stories about overruns with their remodeling projects. However, we never faced this issue (much to their envy). What really stood out was Bryan's responsiveness to the few (minor) issues that did arise nearer the end, which is to be expected in any remodel. Each one was handled quickly and professionally, often before we even had to bring it up. Our new kitchen is not only beautiful, but also highly functional, thanks to the expert planning and execution of Bryan and his crew. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bryan Bodas and his team to anyone considering a remodel or new construction project.

We built this house ten years ago and the surface that was put on these overhang patios had become brittle and lost most of its water resistance. Pam's team messed up our kitchen plumbing during the installation, likely due to the fact that after disconnecting the dishwasher they left the switch to slowly drip and damage a large area nearby. The savings I got from picking them is not even closed to to the money I need to spend to fix the problem. And even worse, Pam refused to take the responsibility and started blaming me for possible existing water damage and possibly the painter knocked over a bucket of water during the renovation. Oh my god. Own it. If this is not your team's doing, how do you explain the fact that your team changed only ONE out of three switches under the sink, that is not part of the scope of work? And in the scope of work, only your team touched the plumbing. In short, stone price and quality is 5-star but their installation and integrity are -3 stars

They ruined the sink, then said it was damaged so they told us to get a new one through them (added cost of $250). We had a wine fridge, when plugged back in, it wouldn't turn on. We had a repairman come to fix it, he said something happened to the circuitry of the range, which he said was super rare and most likely happened due to the renovation. They also just left my kitchen after demo and my real estate agent didn't hear from them for a week so she was ready to go find someone else as we had a deadline for our open house. I'm incredibly unhappy with these people and want to put this review out there as a warning for others. Don't use them.

When the realtor invited "the neighbors" for a sneak-peek on opening weekend, were we able to walk through the updated space, evaluate craftsmanship, and speak to Jason who project managed for Genuine Kitchen. We called for an estimate, and Brian saw us within a week from initial call. Our main goal was to renovate the kitchen (the exact floor plan as next door!) and update floors throughout. We also had additional requests but wasn't sure about overall budget, so we asked for these to be line itemed: adding can lights in the living room, add an overhead fan in master bedroom, change interior doors throughout. We ended up agreeing to everything except the doors. But the best thing about this consultation--we were able to talk through timing. We had vacation planned for 2 weeks in June, and it would be perfect timing if demo + floor installation could be completed while we were on vacation. Brian suggested renting a PODS unit for our driveway and that's where most of our furniture lived while renovations occurred. Talking through the workflow helped settle my nerves about the project. We signed our deposit over March 18, which was 3.5-4months from when initial work was scheduled to take place. This ended up being perfect timing for us. Flat front cabinets = 8week lead time, and another couple months to select countertop and kitchen fixtures. We were given a list of items to purchase, and I was eager to select all the fixtures to fit our style and price. I emailed my selection list to Genuine Kitchen, and they were helpful in pointing out some corrections (buy the certified outlets!) and suggestions (cabinet handles are better than edge pulls!). 48hrs before we were scheduled to leave for vacation, we had to cancel (health reasons). Since we had planned to be out of the house during renovation of the floors we secured hotel + airBnB for 12nights. We asked Genuine Kitchen if we could move back into the bedrooms on day 12 of what was supposed to be 14 days. We were so thankful everything worked out and Genuine Kitchen completed the bedrooms so that we could move back in earlier than scheduled. The bulk of the kitchen renovation occurred while we were simultaneously living in the house--they setup a zip wall between the spaces. The work crews were organized, courteous, and tidied-up after themselves every day. We expect dust during construction, but they tried to keep it to a minimum. Overall, Genuine Kitchen had great communication for us; both email + phone, and I wouldn't hesitate to reach out to them for future projects!

After quite a while of trying to find someone to redo our kitchen who would do the design as well…read moreas the work, we discovered Genuine Kitchen and Bath. Brian met with us to understand what we were looking for and then began creating potential re-designs of our kitchen and dining room space. We went back and forth a bit before settling on the design that we really loved, but we got there. Brian also connected us with a great cabinet designer, Martha at Danmar Cabinets, and during the cabinet design process the three of us communicated via email to ensure we were all on the same page, which was super helpful. From the beginning, Brian was up front about the process, timeline and what to expect during this job. There were, as typically happens, things that came up that we hadn't originally expected. Whenever that happened, we got clear answers on which things were included in the original job cost and anything that would be extra if we wanted to have them do it. Brian's crew was great. His main guy, Junior, was there almost every day and was hard working, friendly, and great at communicating with us. Junior did a great job of cleaning up the job site each day to ensure it was safe both in the backyard and the front yard. We even had neighbors comment on the cleanliness of the job! Junior was on-site working hard every day and managed the other subcontractors as they came and went. Most of the subs were great, though we did have an issue with one of them. But we were very pleased with how Brian, Dianna and their crew handled the problems with that sub. Dianna was a big help with all design-related questions that came up along the way. She gave me clear instructions about where to get things (like the grout for the tile) and helped me decide on the color. It was great to have her expertise readily available to me. Brian and Dianna were very responsive to any concerns we had along the way. They were eager to make us happy and uphold their reputation. In the end, the project extended just a couple weeks past the original estimate of 2 months - mostly due to the subcontractor we had trouble with and a couple extra things we had them do (like add lighting in our living room area). I've heard horror stories from people having their contractors string them along for months not finishing the project. That was not our experience at all, just as Brian had promised, they finished the job completely and efficiently. I highly recommend Genuine Kitchen and Bath for any home project you have. If we decide to do another project down the road, we'll definitely hire them again!
