She says yes but doesn't tell us how long she'll be. We sat around for 15 minutes and left. The receptionist didn't even attempt to keep our business. I'm sure the end result would have been solid but this entire process took 4 weeks. Horrible business operations.

Having hosted the HGTV program "My House is Your House", we've worked with and vetted a lot of…read morecabinet builders around San Diego and Southern California. I cannot stress enough how much of a mistake it was to choose San Diego Custom Cabinets for our kitchen cabinets on an Encinitas project. The workmanship is absolutely appalling (bad). The cabinets started showing signs of wear and tear within just a year. Some panels (dishwasher) corroded and started peeling. The gaps between panels were uneven and unsightly at time of build but especially over time became worse, and to top it all off, the cabinets have actually changed color over time, going from a dark brown (walnut) to a tiger orange. It's obvious all materials were of the cheapest and lowest quality, but beyond that the company's response to these issues was to push back and simply state the warranty period had expired. I should add, it was not only the faces of the cabinets that failed miserably, but the boxes were poorly constructed, including cheap/failing hardware (like the trash pull out which constantly fails (hardware becomes loose and needs to be manually tightened monthly). At this point, we've had no choice but to demolish the entire cabinetry system. We have incurred massive costs (since prices have dramatically changed) and our clients are displaced during this demo period. I'm beyond disappointed with this purchase and this company and would strongly advise anyone considering this company to look elsewhere. As a company and brand, we will not be working with SD Custom Cabinets in the future. We will not be endorsing them. And if actual or prospective clients ask for our vote of confidence or recommendation, we will point them to this review.

Sean did a terrific job designing the cabinet and appliance layout for our kitchen in our rental…read morehouse. Since it was going to be a rental house, we needed cabinets that wouldn't be too expensive but would last well and look good. The cabinets, which arrive on pallets in flat boxes that you or your cabinet installer assemble (and install) yourself, are very solid and quite nice, with soft-close hinges. They turned our nicer than the cabinets in our own house, so now of course my wife wants to redo our kitchen, too. We are very pleased with the cabinets, and our new tenants love them too. The assembly and installation of the cabinets is pretty tricky, so you'll want someone who is skilled and has done it before. Installing kitchen cabinets is not really for the average do-it-yourselfer, as experienced cabinet installers have several tricks to make everything fit and line up perfectly, including liberal use of shims in many locations that are not visible once the cabinets are installed. Highly recommend these guys if you're looking for good quality cabinets at a reasonable price.

A Lifesaver After an IKEA Failure! Exceptional Service & Quality!…read more We were in a desperate situation. Our IKEA contractor artificially delayed the project, failed to install our countertops on time, and we had to cancel our prepaid agreement, leaving us without a kitchen sink for weeks. He understood our urgency and started working on our project within 12 hours! Our beautiful countertops were fabricated and installed in just one week. The quality is excellent. Throughout the process, Jean-Paul and his team were invaluable, guiding us to select the perfect material and were always available to answer any questions. But they didn't stop there! I was looking forward to working with JP on replacing the countertops in both my condo and my new…read morehome. He came highly recommended by my agent, who had recieved the recommendation from his tile guy. I also thought I did my due diligence by reviewing his Yelp feedback. Before the countertop work began, we needed a plumber and asked JP if he had someone. He sent his plumber. The plumber did not speak English, and while he was there we used Google Translate to bring the issues to his attention directly... but it did not work. Unfortunately, the work was unacceptable. The bathroom sink leaked immediately due to improper connections, the sink was installed crooked, the showerhead rod was damaged during installation, a screw was broken into the wall, the wrong type of sealant was used, and the handlebar popped out with minimal pressure (he used the wrong screws, only screwed in 1 instead of 3 and broke one screw in the tile wall) creating a serious safety concern. My agent and I called JP to address the situation. Before I was even able to explain the issues, he immediately stated the plumber was "not his guy," despite having sent him. The conversation quickly became unprofessional, with him yelling AT US and he ultimately hung up on us.... all his without us even stating what the issue was leading me to believe he already knew HIS GUY screwed up. I had to hire another plumber to correct the mistakes, which cost me twice as much, all after already paying JP for a shitty job. I would be very wary of working with someone who is willing to speak to a paying customer that way before even hearing their concerns. Based on this experience, I will not be moving forward with them for my countertop installation.
