I came in as a walk in toward the end of the day and i was told the wait would be a hour or so, to my surprise the staff worked fast and efficiently and squeezed me in faster then expected. I came in for a anual eye exam and i was pleased with the staffs customer service they were very kind and informative about any information i needed. I've been coming to this optometrist since my boy was 5 years old. He is now 9 and I typically take photos of him when his outfit is cute. The blonde lady at the front desk was incredibly off-putting and insisted that I was taking photos of her. Once I advised her that I only want photos of my child she continued that I had media of her in my phone. The actual doctor then tried to address it and I elaborated for the THIRD time that I have no need to have them recorded or photoed in my device, Very rude and very unprofessional. I have been a patient here for years for both routine glasses exams and medical related care, and until now I have never had an issue. I received a call from Brandy in the appointment call center and it was one of the rudest customer service interactions I have ever experienced. She called to confirm an appointment and I asked which type it was since I am seen here for more than one reason. I explained this clearly. Instead of listening, she immediately replied with attitude asking if I wanted to confirm it or cancel it. I said I wanted to confirm the appointment and also schedule the second one. She then asked what the second visit was for even though I had already explained it two minutes earlier. At that point I asked if she could see my previous visits in the system since it seemed like she may not be familiar with the terms. Instead of answering, she raised her voice and said, "Ma'am I can't see anything. This is the appointment center." There was absolutely no need to speak to me like that. I calmly asked why she was talking to me with an attitude. She immediately denied it while continuing with the same rude tone. I hung up and called back hoping someone else could help. She answered again and became defensive and short with me instantly. When I asked to speak with someone else she said no. When I asked for a manager she said there was not one. I said I would call corporate and she yelled that there was not one and hung up on me. I called back again and she told me no one would speak to me, even though I never raised my voice and never disrespected anyone. My only issue was the way she was speaking to me. At this point I started recording the call and she then started to deny the series of events and hung up in my face again. I called again and Michelle answered the phone. I said "hello, how are you" and instead of even attempting to help she also hung up in my face. I called the final time and got Maria who said she was put me in contact with their manager Joseph. I'm still waiting on this call. This level of behavior is completely unacceptable. I have been loyal to this clinic for years and have never been treated like this. If this is the type of customer service being allowed, then something needs to change. Patients deserve professionalism, respect, and a basic level of courtesy. I had a terrible experience here. When I came in, the receptionist said I would have a $40 copay instead of my normal $10 because they are specialists. I didn't know that, but agreed to pay the $40. But when I went to pay after, they wanted to charge me $135 because apparently the doctor had given me a more advanced exam and a referral to a different specialist, which I never asked for. When I refused to pay more than $40, the nurse got very upset with me and gave me a speech about how the doctor deserves to get paid because he went to school for this. I was willing to forgo the referral because I didn't know it was extra and just pay for my prescription, but the nurse kept getting angrier that I received an exam I wasn't going to pay for. Eventually the doctor had to come out and talk her down. Look out! They will try to upcharge you with treatment and exams you didn't even ask for. I will never go back here. read more

Buyer beware! I took my daughter to their Round Rock location to get a basic eye exam for her eyeglasses prescription. Everything at check-in was going well... until they quoted me a $49 fee, much higher than the $10 copay quoted by my insurance company. When I questioned this, the person at the front desk stated that there was a $39 fee for a "retinal screening" that is done in lieu of dilation. I then stated that I did not wish for this screening to be performed and that dilation would be acceptable; however, the person at the front desk stated that it was "company policy" to do the screening and that dilation was only done if medically necessary. I reiterated my opposition to the screening, only to be told that if I really wanted dilation, the appointment would have to be rescheduled as "it's a longer appointment." Unfortunately, my daughter really needed to get new glasses, so I had no choice but to pay the fee and get it over with. I find it completely unacceptable that this practice forces this type of screening on their customers and that their staff does everything possible to prevent customers from opting out of it. I hope they feel getting the extra money was worth it, because we will never use their services again. read more

I and my family had our eye exam at this location and it was a very good experience. Micah at the front desk was very professional, relatable, friendly , and very informative about all the questions we had. Dr Dang was very nice and also was very informative with all the questions I had about my aging eyes as well as making me feel comfortable about wearing bifocals now. I can't remember the guy that does the first step to the exam before the doctor but my son really liked him and even asked if we could come to this location from now on to get our glasses every year and I think this will be our location from now on. read more

Horrible experience 12/01/2023 at Round Rock with Dr. Kindla. Had made appt. to have eyes checked (refraction) to get new glasses next door at Visionworks. Instead she became agitated and did other tests over my objections. I kept insisting that I only wanted a prescription for new eye-glasses. Finally she gave me one, but when I went to get it filled she had left off the bifocal info. Took Visionworks another day to get that info and another trip for us. Now I'm getting billed for tests I did not authorize, and which payment has been denied by my insurance co. They should have been up-front about their procedures and additional fees at the time the appt. was made. If they had, I would never have gone there. read more

I would like to give less stars than this but I can't. I came with my children back in January and we were greeted with a smile and the African American lady that was helping me was so kind and helpful. She explained my insurance to me in a way that I could understand why my medical insurance was being used and and not my vision insurance. She also explained how my vision insurance could most like be used for my family at the Vision Works next door. She even took the time to go with me next door to make sure that I could take advantage of any sales they may have. Well Saturday my husband went to the same office and this was a disaster. The "New Office Manager" as she called herself is disrespectful and seems very racist by the way he was treated and by the way she talked down to him. She also forced my husband to pay for services that he did not request, or he was not told about. I called and talked to her today about the situation and asked for her name and she refused to give her name to me. So, I asked for her bosses name and contact information and she told me that I could look it up. If this is the kind of management this company now has, they can keep their business we can take our business elsewhere. I don't understand how an office can go from being organized and professional to just a disaster and a "New Manager" that doesn't know anything. WON'T EVER BE BACK. I WILL SHARE WITH ALL OF MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EITHER. I will also call my insurance company and the HIPPA compliance board about the operations of this clinic. read more

Over the last three weeks I have been to this office 4 times for new glasses and contacts. Every visit was a miserable experience and off the mark to include the most recent follow-up visit upon which I showed up 10 minutes early for a scheduled appointment and I was not acknowledged in any way. Those that arrived after me were acknowledged. I will not go into any detail. However, this practice is one of the poorest run medical practices I have ever experienced in my 69 years. It's refreshing to know you can trust your optometrist implicitly. Dr. Daniel Brinchman was prompt, professional, and pleasant. The real kicker is he warned me about the dangers of over-prescribing, and my new prescription for 20/15 vision was actually slightly less strong than it had been before! (I'm blind as a bat) He even had some cool new technology that took a crazy close-up picture of my eye and then he immediately airdropped it to my phone. Somebody from the Round Rock office did call me the day before my appointment clearly saying that they do not accept my insurance. It was not a misunderstanding. It was wrong information given that should have been cleared up WAY before the day before my appointment. It is not relevant if you take my insurance or not. The problem is waiting until the day before to contact me. My job requires me to have my phone off, so I did not receive your later phone call in time. (which is why this needs to be solved BEFORE the day before). You are not taking responsibility for your mistake or not understanding the real problem (which is waiting until the day before). read more

I highly recommend this practice, and here's why. It's more than just a place to get a prescription for glasses or contacts. It's a practice with a commitment to your eye health and your overall health. As we know, the eyes are an organ and just like any other organ, its function (or lack of proper function) can indicate that there may be other health problems going on. The burden of the physician is to try and communicate that to his patients, who may or may not completely understand. The business owner response to one of these reviews was top notch and informative. I have terrible eyes, and I've been going to annual eye exams my whole life. We found some things in my eye that I didn't know was even possible to see with current technology. I am thankful for the physicians at this location for firstly, finding the things in my eyes, and secondly explaining to me whether or not I needed to worry about them. To Dr. Brinchman, I give him all the kudos. This is a guy that cares so much about his patients. It was very evident in my discussion with him. This is a guy that mounted his own hand sanitizers in each room to ensure that it met the standards of a healthcare facility. And it is a healthcare facility, not just a conveyor belt for prescriptions. Keep that in mind when visiting, and when being offered these optional tests. They need to get an overall picture of your health, thus why they even take your blood pressure. So, please give them a break. They care, that's why they offer other tests. It's not always just about the money. It might be for some other places, but not for Dr. Brinchman. He really has a heart. read more

I recently moved to Miami Florida, but I always went to this office for eye appointments. I didn't have my prescription and also needed them to switch around my prescription to a previous prescription. They arranged this for me with no hesitation and they even remembered my name and situation. It's so important for a business to make the customer feel at home. I visited Feb 18th and my doctor was Dr. Brinchman. The assistant that helped me with the pre-tests was also named Brittany(unsure if spelling) and she was very funny and helpful. Dr. Brinchman was professional and was the first doctor to tell me that apparently I have a tiny thin spot in my right eye and was a candidate for retinal detachment. I went to Master Eye a couple of months ago for a regular check-up, since I was running low on my order of contacts and needed a new prescription. Dr. Brinchman was very helpful and provided me with information regarding my astigmatism. Up until visiting Master Eye, I had been wearing regular contacts. Dr. Brinchman explained that I could continue to wear regular contacts, however, if I were to switch to contacts specific for an astigmatism, my vision would be better. He helped to explain what my options were and let me try a pair of new contacts to see if I liked them. Ultimately, he was right, my vision was better, and I continue wearing the brand of contacts he suggested. When I told him I didn't want the extra check he seemed offended and kept asking why over and over. As he was entering my prescription, he seemed irritated and stated that he was noting in the comments that I did not want the exam and if I refuse this "optional" health check my next visit, he could no longer be my doctor. This was hands down the best experience we have ever had. We were on vacation at a nearby resort when my son broke his glasses and lost the lenses in the water. We had only been at the resort for an hour and he can not see at ALL, his has a stigma and same day glasses would of been a no go. But I decided to try call and give it a shot. I explained the situation and they took us right in. The staff was so friendly a s understanding. I explained that we would have to go try and get glass somewhere after the doc gave him a script. When my son came out the doctor gave him a 5 day supply of contacts. She knew we would never get his script made anywhere in under 3 days no matter what the same day places advertise. She did not charge us for a contact exam only for he glasses. We were able to go back to the resort instead of trying to find a same day glasses place. Master Eye literally saved our family vacation. My son is near blind and our 4 day trip would of been ruined. I can't say enough good things about every employee and optometrist at Master Eye. You should definitely give them your business if you are local. Leaving one star because the Yelp system won't let me leave "zero." We requested a basic eye exam, and clearly indicated that we wanted no "extra" services that were not covered by our exam co-pay. Despite our wishes, we were charged $39 for an additional procedure. The clerk, Holly, was quite rude and dismissive; she offered to refund half of the fee, as the service was provided. I explained that their act was tantamount to theft, and that nothing short of a refund of the full $39 was acceptable. The optometrist agreed to refund the full $39. Five days later...no refund. Just makes you think...if they are stealing $39 from 10 customers a day, that's over $2000/week...they readily admitted that their forms were confusing, and that this was a common mistake....sounds like it might be a way to pad their sales figures by $100K/year!! You've been warned...don't go. Maybe they won't try to rip you off, but Holly's attitude alone is enough to put this place in your rearview mirror. read more

I was quoted $139 to receive an exam for glasses and contacts. When I went to pay my bill, I was charged an extra $80 because I was fitted for multifocal contacts. I was not told upfront about this extra charge and would not have been fitted for the lenses had I known. The way the office manager remedied the situation was to take away my trial lenses, take away my prescription for the multifolcal lenses and make me wait for another exam to get regualr contact lenses. Only after I relinquished the prescription was the quoted price honoured. BAIT and SWITCH! read more
