I immediately flipped the laptop over, shut it down, and left it upside down while I ran to the store for rubbing alcohol. I carefully wiped down the keyboard and called this place as soon as they reopened on the 26th. For context, Apple told me the computer would likely never work again and tried to sell me a new one. This shop was reassuring on the phone and accepted the drop-off right after the holiday break. The employee we spoke with (may have been the owner considering how competent and dedicated he was) was extremely kind at drop off. I had my computer back within 48 hours, before New Year's Eve, after a deep internal clean. They confirmed the cleaning was successful, that there was no risk of corrosion over time, and no expected shortening of the computer's lifespan. I paid under $100 and walked away with a perfectly functioning MacBook. Nearly two weeks later, there's no sign at all that anything was ever spilled. So grateful to everyone at Quick Fix!

It was a much higher-touch and more helpful interaction than I've come to expect from most retail stores. While this is the experience that motivated me to write this review, it's by no means my only positive experience shopping there. I brought my fully working laptop here for a simple battery replacement. After their "repair," the…read morelaptop stopped turning on completely -- they essentially rendered it unusable. Instead of fixing the issue or offering a real solution, they only offered to remove the memory for free and give me a $200 in-store credit. The problem is that there is practically nothing of real value you can buy in their store for that amount. Even the cheapest replacement laptop (which the manager showed me himself) costs about $186, yet they refused to order it for me or provide an equivalent replacement. They also refused to refund anything in cash or compensate the value of the damaged device. I was told that when you drop off your device, you sign a paper that supposedly frees them from almost any responsibility -- something they never clearly explain, and something most people understandably don't read in detail. In other words, even if they break your working device, they claim they're not liable. I'm sharing this so others are aware: read everything before signing, and think twice before bringing your device here. My laptop was fully functional before their service, and completely dead afterward -- and they took no responsibility for it.

It seems like somehow the corporate and store are not aligned on what customer service they are providing. I have to spend 30 with Amazon to re-print label to UPS and find another time to return. It's ok if you don't want to operate Amazon returns. It's not great to sign a deal and not honor it and impact customers.
