bait and switch. my friend was gonna pay them $100 as that is what the deal said, but when the guy came, not to mention he was 2 hours late, looked around and said it was gonna be $280. the tech said his carpets were in bad condition and tried to push a more expensive price. DO NOT GIVE MONEY TO THIS COMPANY! read more

Late for arrival (30+ minutes!); had to call to inquire. Then got lost because the address wasn't taken properly by the company when setting up appointment, where $79.99 for five rooms was clarified using Valpak coupon. Quoted $20 PER STAIN on arrival but said "they'd give me a deal", charging only for four rooms (69.99) and stains. Employee didn't even know pricing, trying to do the math using coupon and their invoice, resulting in $ 160.00 charge! It literally JUST DOESN'T ADD UP! Not only do I feel duped, but question Valpak offers now. Remember the Rule of Ten: Ten customers generally share a positive or negative experience with ten people, who in turn share with ten more. Was it worth charging double to lose a return customer and appearing as scheisters. read more

Wasnt impressed with this place. Im not sure they used any cleaning solution. My carpet wasn't that dirty to begin with so I couldn't tell the difference. Also, the truck that the tech arrived in did not have the company name on it. I will never use them again. I'd rather spend a little more for a reputable company. read more

If I could give this place NEGATIVE STARS i would. They have COMPLETELY RUINED MY LAMINATE WOOD 2,000 FLOOR!!!! They guy came out and began to clean my sofa and love seat with a CARPET CLEANER. He completely soaked my laminate floor and sofa to the point beyond repair. He then tried to say the floor was like that before he got there. WHAT THE HECK!!! I call the company and all they said was "SUE ME!" and that is exactly what I plan to do. Please save your time, heartache and money and DO NOT use these people. I have already reported them to the BBB and plan to sue as soon as I can! read more

The person "Mike"who came tried to add a $20/ room for "pre cleaning" which I wasn't told before. That would have been ok if the carpet was clean afterward. Some of the stains were removed but the edges along the walls were not improved at all. The carpet was changed from beige to dirty gray. When I complained and said I would not pay the full amount, he said he'd call the police. I wish he had. He was a very rude man who shouldn't be working wit the public. I payed him a compromised amount to get him to leave. read more

Awful. Stay away at all cost. I had a coupon in Valpak (Chester, VA) and we really needed a dryer vent clean due to birds who were somehow opening the flap cover and building nest inside. When I called the lady quoted $79.99 the same price found on the coupon and was able to schedule me fairly quickly. On the day of when Roman, our technician, called he sounded a bit snarky, but I ignored it. When he arrived to the house, his attitude still stank. He came in did a quick half-a** job and tried to charge us $110. Wait what? We told him when I called the lady said it was $79.99 and he showed me his paper with the prices. I showed him my coupon and he then agreed to that price. We asked if he had change, he said he did, but kept trying to short change us. I handed him $100 and he kept trying to give me back $10. After a bit of confusion we got our change and he was on his way. My husband and I took a look at everything. There was still lint everywhere behind the machine (I can't really expect them to clean that, but I know some companies will be nice enough to do so) and the birds nest was now poking out of the vent outside, but was not removed. I called the company back to complain and she called Roman back to take a look at it. This is where things really took a turn. When he arrived he INSISTED that we were wrong and that was not the dryer vent and the vent was the one on the the other side of the house that was covered with a grate. I kept trying to explain to him that it was not the dryer vent and the one in the back like I said. After 10mins of back and forth...he called someone (I'm guessing the company) and then asked us to turn on the dryer so we can see which vent opens. Sure enough, it was the one I told him and he still kept this smug attitude and was like, "I'll go ahead and clean it, but...." so at this point I just had to walk away because I've had it with him. We have been living in this house for going on 3 years now. So for you to come in with an attitude and try to argue with me how MY house works is ridiculous. Never again will I call these crooks again for ANYTHING! read more

This company is a joke. The Technician was supposed to arrive between 8 and 10 showed up after 10. He came in took a look and said it doesn't look bad at all in here and then he tried to charge me $100 more than my estimate. When I told him I was quoted $49 over the phone he acted like I didn't say anything and just went on to say that chemicals are expensive what do you expect. He continued to be rude and when I went out to the van to talk to him before he brought anything in I told him I can't pay that much and I'm not going to be using their services today he got nasty with me and mumbled something under his breath and practically peeled out of the apartment complex driving recklessly. I called the company to ask about the mix up in prices and why it wasn't what I was previously told on the phone and got yelled at again by another person telling me "how can they give an estimate if they haven't seen the carpet", "did the person you talked on the phone with see the carpet? No" . So save yourself the time and bullsh*t, just call a different company. read more

Technician was on time and cleaned the trouble spots well. Overall very happy with the service. I would recommend them.

As other people have said, it is a complete scam. The "Whole House Carpet Cleaning" advertised in the ValPak coupon (currently for $79.99) includes no cleaning chemicals (just steam, apparently), and they want an additional $20/room if you want any actual cleaning chemicals used. When I refused and told him to get lost, the technician offered to do it for $10/room - which I grudgingly accepted, solely because I was having a party that night and knew that there would be no time to find another company with such short notice. I would never, ever use them again. read more

This company is a sham. They charged WAY over price. The employees argue the whole time with you, raise the price inevitably. They are quite unfriendly. They also charged me a week after I paid because of card fees. They did not contact me; I called in and they instantly knew who I was because they charged my card and instantly started raising his voice and arguing. It was not written on my receipt, so I should not randomly be charged. DO NOT use this company under any circumstances, I am absolutely appalled at the actions of this company. read more

False Advertising! Beware! I wish I would've read these reviews before having these con-artists come to my house. I also had the val-pak coupon for air-duct cleanings and the technician came into my house and said that the coupon was for studio apartments only and for houses where there wasn't any dirt in the air vents. I really needed my air ducts cleaned and they ended up going from a $65 coupon to $205. They charged me for a return that they never cleaned as well. The technician was incredibly unprofessional and creepy and was asking me invasive questions like if I live alone. He was touching my belongings and appeared to be scoping out my house. My boyfriend had to call and fight with them to get my money back for the return that they never cleaned because I felt too uncomfortable to have them come back into my house. This company is run by con-artists - buyer beware. read more

We bought new carpet when we moved in, two years later, we finally decided to get the carpets "professionally" cleaned. I saw a Valupak coupon saying 74.99 for 5 rooms. Thought what could it hurt. I called and said I had 3 rooms, a rug and stairwell. I asked the price, the lady on the phone, who was very hard to understand, told me 75 plus 2 dollars per stair. Boras arrived on time the day of my appointment, came in to see the carpet, said that I should have it pretreated, shampooed and cleaned. He said that was 147 dollars plus the steam clean of 100. I was going to tell him never mind, but I had already stacked the bathrooms with furniture to get everything off the floor and didn't want to have to redo it all. I hesitantly agreed. He said it would take about an hour. We went outside to play and 20 minutes later he was done. I couldn't believe that he was done so quickly. I can't even vacuum my carpet they quick. I don't know how you "pretreat" the carpet and are gone 20 minutes later. He said it would take 5 hours to dry and could take up to 24. The carpet was so wet that after 20 hours I still couldn't wear socks around and my stairs were wet for over 30 hours. I had fans on the three bedrooms and a standup fan in the hall. It was 70 degrees in the house. My house now smells like wet dog all the time and there are brown rust-like stains on my stairs. I will never ever use this company again and I would not recommend them to anyone. They are a scam and they will ruin your carpet. Now I have to call another company to do the job properly. Do not use this company. Read the reviews before you decide to use them. read more

Seems like normal business to prey on those who are at need of their service. They go by different names, all tied to the same people, returning calls from different numbers tied to those other companies. We scheduled with Nazar, the manager well in advance time for Sunday, Jan 31. They called last minute on Sunday to reschedule and we could not. We told them it was our move out day, so they showed up early and with a newer higher price. The technician said it is only 20 more, so they knew they were changing it. We then called and again spoke with Nazar. He did not want to honor our agreement. He asked about the space again and the price raised even more now. He finally said he would not have the cleaner return till the next day for the original price, but for today would be the higher price. He hung up when we did not agree to higher price. Nazar was rude. He said, You are just trying to get it for free, which is not the case, we had an agreement. They were hoping we would be okay with them scamming us because it was last minute and we were in need. read more

BAIT AND SWITCH TACTICS. Whatever deal or coupon that you might see for them, don't even bother. They'll have some kind of excuse as to why they need to boost the charge from 40 or 50 to 140 or 150. "Carpet was too dirty." Yes. The carpet had some problem areas. That is why I wanted your services. read more

Poor company. I was scheduled for a cleaning this past tuesday. I got a call asking to reschedule for Thursday due to the truck breaking down. I agreed though upset. They offered discount for the inconvenience. Hete it is Thursday and they never called and never showed. I have been calling all day and they wont answer my calls or return my voicemails. Disappointed with services. They did not honor the price quoted over the phone or the coupon. My walls were accidentally sprayed with the cleaning solution and it took the paint right off the walls. Carpet looks unchanged but the chair I had done does look great. read more

Very deceptive pricing. Price quote is for WATER only. Soap of any kind is extra. Everything is extra. I would avoid this company unless you have time to play games. read more

They call themselves Master Cleaning...but it should be master manipulators. At the beginning of May 2019, I came across their coupon for $79.99 in the Value Pack, for a whole house carpet cleaning. I know it sounded too good to be true and it was. When the guy arrived, he immediately started complaining and being very unprofessional when I told him he could not drive up on the grass. When he came in he started aggressively looking around and tallying up all these additional charges that were never discussed when I made the appointment, nor were they reflected in the coupon. My carpet had ONE stain, which he tried to charge an additional $80.00 to treat. I asked him to just honor the coupon and not to worry if the stain didn't come out. He started quoting different prices and became argumentative and threatening and tried to make me pay in advance and pay the inflated charges. He was a big guy with a thick accent so I was becoming concerned. He even became confrontational with a friend who was there with me. I told him to leave! To get out of my house! He did not leave immediately and then, stood outside on the sidewalk yelling at us and threatening to call the police. Keep in mind that he had NOT done any cleaning. I told him to go ahead and call the police... cause if you don't...I will! He jumped in the truck and took off. The nerve of this guy! So, long-story-short, DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! There are a lot of reputable cleaning services out there. read more

Yes, the arrived early. Really early. I paid them to clean my carpet and air ducts. Should have been everything you'd imagine, but it was much less. I could have done just a good a job spraying condensed air into my registers. Which is what he did. So that was $40. Then he cleaned a carpet. They actually did a good job, but OH I had to pay extra for a stain cleaner. You'd think that would be part of the definition of "clean" but no no it's $20 extra. read more

The technician, who introduced himself as Tony, was on time and did a great job. He also called ahead to let me know he was on the way. I showed him the couple of spots I was most concerned about and told me he'd do his best. He got everything out! Also, when he was finished, he asked me to look around the carpet and asked if everything looked okay before he packed up his cleaning equipment. Very polite technician and a great bargain. I would definitely call this service again. read more

CHEAP, FAST, RELIABLE, EXCELLENT WORK, GREAT TECHS. Called them due to some pet odors and getting ready to move from my complex. Needed the bare minimum. Tony, the tech, was too amazing to dedcribe. Never use MASTEr CLEAN !! They advertise in REACH magazine!! They charged more than they advertised. They said my sofa would be damp for 7 to 8 hours. Now 27 hours later sofa is still wet. The chemical they use made my hands sticky when I touched it while wet. They used so much water that it took the manufacture tags off the base of sofa and left stains. There was also a sticker that said have sofa dry cleaned or use mild soap and damp cloth. I know I should have read that but when I called who I thought was professionals they should have told me they couldn't clean. I called to complain , he told me he was located at the beach and they do not give refunds. They advertise that they were bonded , I asked for repair person to come back and look at sofa , I was told he is not doing that. The fabric on the sofa looks as though it stretched. He sent the guy back out to look at sofa , he said he could get water stains off sofa but it would be wet another 7 to 8 hours. Then the man that cleaned the sofa called a third time and said he would bring my money back !!! I'm still reporting them. If you value you future do not use them!! read more

I have used Master Cleaning at least four times for carpeting, upholstery, and rugs. They are always on time, calling a half hour before arrival. They do a superb job at a VERY good price. I was looking for someone to clean my ducts and found a coupon for Master Cleaning in the ValPak. The lady over the phone told me that because I had two units it would cost me $130 (instead of the $64.99 that the coupon stated). I was OK with that. The gentleman shows up, looks at the system and tells me that it is going to cost $850. These people know exactly what they are doing. When I called there was no questions asked about my system, no disclaimer that there will be additional per duct and/or return. The communication was poor and the language barrier definitely did not help. I will NEVER use this company or recommend them. read more

I found a ValPak coupon for $49.99 for 5 rooms and a hallway which is the equivalent of 1000 sq/ft. I called to set an appointment. I told the lady on the phone that this was for the office and hallway at my place of business and that the total area was 1000 sq/ft. I and wanted to be sure that this coupon would apply. She said yes. The guy that showed up said my total would be $150. HE TRIPLED THE QUOTED PRICE. He said the other price was for residential only, that my quote was invalid, that the lady on the phone didn't know what she was talking about and that I should have scheduled an inspection instead of a service. Basically, they pulled a classic bait and switch and when I refused to pay triple the quoted rate, they left me high and dry. My office was completely disassembled and they had no regard for me, my business, my customers, or their own integrity. What a scam. read more

Too many hidden charges after arrival. No one could understand their language not be mean, but if I only speak English it presented a big problem. Also have to have them come back due to dark area in the carpet in which they did not want to come and spoke very harshly to me. They did in the end come back and correct the problem so that is why I am rating them a one. read more

I made an appointment for carpet cleaning with MasterCLEAN. I had a coupon for $44.99 "Whole House Carpet Cleaning". I was not at the property but the contractor was. The tech called and said the carpet was very dirty, which was true (it was a rental property) and that it would cost $170. I told him it wasn't worth it because in actuality the carpet needed replacing. He called back with an offer of $100. I said I had to call the contractor but he was paying. Meanwhile a tech was on premise and told the contractor that it wouldn't come clean enough for $100 (premium) he would do it for coupon rate plus $20 for stairs totaling $65. I got the credit card receipt for $105. I had to call four times only to be argued with about what was said/agreed upon by contractor. MasterCLEAN was so rude talking over me and refusing to honor the quoted price. BE SURE TO GET AN ONSITE RECEIPT IF YOU USE THEM. read more

Made an appointment weeks prior, no call before called at 11 (appt window was 10-12) found out they didn't have appt on the books. Said they would send someone they did. Price was confirmed at appt scheduling of $170 based on a coupon that stated deep steam cleaning. That was for 4 rooms, a sofa and love seat. Tech gets here states stream cleaning won't take out any spots pretreat extra (probably why he laughed when I handed him the check for $170 as quoted.) He said $40 extra per room and piece of furniture for pretreat but said he would do for $20 each. I explained that's not what I was under the impression I was getting. I called the business the woman there's first response was well you can just cancel. Then I explained that at no point in time was I told it would be extra to have the carpet pretreated as the coupon didn't state this. She said that wasn't what was asked for at scheduling (so she remembered what was asked for but not to schedule the appt that sounds sketch). I explained to her that an average person who doesn't work with carpets would think that by paying a professional that at stains would be part of what they remove when cleaning carpets. She hung up on me with her tech still in my house. I sent him on his way moral of the story don't let them or their coupon waste your time. Terrible customer service!! read more

I contracted with Master Cleaning to clean my carpets, and had a coupon from a mailer. Their ad with this coupon clearly states "satisfaction guaranteed - no hidden costs" and "free deodorizer", and that they accept all major credit cards. When the technician arrived, he immediately stated that he would need to add cleaning agents and deodorizer and would have to charge extra for both. My carpets were not so dirty as to require more than normal cleaning, so I was shocked that there would be any extra charges. He then told me that I would need to pay by check or cash; if I wanted to pay by credit card, they would charge me a transaction fee. When I showed him a copy of the advertisement stating "no hidden costs", he stated that this was the mistake of the office, and that I would have to call them. When I called, I got no answer. At that point, feeling very frustrated, I told him that I would not be needing his services. Luckily, we had several people cleaning our house for a move-in the next day. We were able to rent a machine and clean the carpets ourselves. Others who are a tight schedule may not be so lucky. BEWARE AND DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! read more

I called Master Cleaning in Virginia Beach yesterday. They quoted me a price of $70 - $80 to clean my sectional. And they said they could come between 7:00 am and 8:00 am. After they arrived at 8:35 am, the man quoted me a different price $110. I told him no thanks either they can do it for the price I was quoted or not at all. He got on the phone and came back and agreed to $80. Then he goes to his truck and keeps me waiting for about 30 minutes and returns to tell me that his machine is not working and he would return at 2:00 pm. This is absolutely ridiculous. I told him no thank you and I would call another company but thanks anyway. I called the main office to report the problem and a man answers the phone sounding half way sleep. I informed the guy in the office about what happened and he said he will be right back to clean the sectional and began yelling at me. After I calming told him that he was being very rude and he should not treat customers like that. He told me that I need to go to church because I am rude. I replied in shock and let him know that they were very unprofessional and I was going to report them to the Better Business Bureau. I do not recommend my worse enemy to go to this company.
