Amazing customer service. I emailed them at zero dark thirty regarding a painting project, and had a response by early morning. Jerry came out ASAP and gave me a reasonable quote, and was thorough with the plan of attack. He sent out one of his painters and we had the project completed *the right way* within a week. They did the work in a timely fashion. However; the workmanship was poor. Stained painting was one coat and the Fireplace mantel was built but left rough with one coat of stain. He left one inch trimming too short. Stain paint was on my carpet because he did not put a cover down to protect it. read more

The Target Group sucked. The only reason they get 2 stars instead of 1 is that the house did get painted - including the windows, railings, downspouts and sidewalk. Four phone calls to get them to come back and paint sections they missed, and to paint over splotches left here there and everywhere. Even then, there were still things I just finally painted over myself. Calls were met with promises to "make it right" with no follow through. It's a contractor, who has a sub-contractor, who then hires another subcontractor (and his friends) - and communication and responsibility gets lost in the shuffle. The sub- sub-contractor apparently did not get paid, which is surprising, because I paid an exorbitant amount (easily the highest bid), and I know that check got cashed, so someone left with $ in their pockets! I contacted the target group for a quote to repair and paint my rental property so that it could be placed on the market. There was extensive work to be done. I was told to call in a day or two if I hadn't heard from Jerry. It took me several calls and emails over several days to finally obtain my quote. I was pleasantly surprised with the estimated timeframe of one week to complete the work. It's took approximately 19 days to paint approximately 1900 ft.². There was also a small amount of drywall to repair as well. The work was subcontracted out to Major-league construction. I called the Jerry and Joe on several occasions throughout this 19 days and promise that the work would be done shortly. Joe ended up firing some of his workers and completed the job in approximately 25 days. If I had it to do over again I would have selected a different company to do the repairs. Pros of the target group were two employees: Harley and the secretary at the office. They were both very helpful and always very receptive. read more

The Target Group is without a doubt the best general contractor in the Hampton Roads area. I have used them several times because their work is completed correctly and on time. Once we had a pipe burst and they were there within an hour to start the repairs and then followed through to complete the job. Afterward, the repaired work looked better than the original. You know how with most contractors you immediately get ready to argue because they didn't do what they were asked to do, left a mess or didn't complete the job, not with The Target Group they complete the job above and beyond what is required of them and leave it clean and completed. I would recommend them to anyone and often do recommend them to friends, family, and co-workers. read more

Would not recommend to anyone, I don't know if it was because I was a female, he had more customer than he could handle or my job wasn't worth his time but the man that I spoke to after the estimate was done and I called him back to let him know that I was ready to have the job done couldn't deal with me at that time and said that he would call me back later, he did not call me back later, so I called him back and he told me that he had me scheduled without even confirming the date with me first, sorry it doesn't work that way. So I said something to him about it and he copped an attitude. He didn't act the least bit professional. read more

Crew was on time, courteous and professional. I was disappointed that so many of the nail holes were not patched, as that was part of the contract. I'd recommend them, with the caveat that you watch for that. They did come back out to fix it, but it's always nice to have work done right the first time. First, I used Yelp to request services and Jerry responded to my message, this was the first time I ever used Yelp in this respect- awesome! Jerry, the owner of Target Group and his team were more than professional, punctual, and perfect at what they did in making improvements on our home. Jerry called me back within an hour, came out gave us a quote for a roof repair, drywall/ceiling repair and a huge paint job. James and Will showed up the next morning, got right to work and both jobs were complete within two days. All work has exceeded our expectations. James and Will were professional, cleaned up after the jobs, gave great input and suggestions with respect to paint color. I'm just so impressed with the whole company and the quality of their work. I immediately called and cancelled an upcoming scheduled visit with another company, for a different project, and Jerry will be out soon to set up that job! read more

He would call when fixed and on the way. 9:30 became 10:30 then became noon. Finally he asks if he can meet at 1. The worst, absolute worst people I have ever done business with. I was promised a fixed roof and the interior fixed. The left all the shingles on the side of my house, they came out 3 times to fix it and it leaks all over. I was told they were roofers, well they suck. They never show up on time, they leave a mess, they sweet talk you and then they never call back. I am shocked they are in business. They have done work for my daughters jobs and they never fixed their business either. I have talked to other roofers and most say they have never heard of them, others say they have a big drug problem. I believe it. I am shocked my landlord paid them. They promised the world, but never wrote anything down. When I asked about the inside and well the roof is still leaking, that ran a freaking hose on my roof. It didn't work!! It still leaks. We paid thousands of dollars to have our interior painted, walls that were painted and not trim either had wall color on parts of trim or the wall that was painted had uneven lines that didn't cover up to the trim. Half the caulking was not done around trim that was painted. Had species of wall paint on chair rails because they didn't use tape to cover. Asked multiple times to have doors painted which the owner that did the estimate never wrote down but later told me that any door that was in a wall that was getting painted the door would too but then told his paint crew not to do it. We were told there would be a final walk through to make sure everything was done satisfactory and that never happened! Three times they said they would call me or be at the house to do and on those days no show and would not answer their phones. I DO NOT recommend them!
