I needed a tree trimming service. I called MAS because our aged Jacaranda tree was looking wild and ugly in an unglamorous fashion. Our King Palms looked desolate. We also had big surface tree roots zig zagging disrespectfully far beyond the trim line. Spoiler alert, this is a 5-Star review! But,! I almost don't want to submit it because when the word gets out that Miguel and his crew are straight up Arborists and gifted artists, he's going to get blooming' busy. Do you know what they say? Communication is key! I had reached out to this company because I had used them in the past years, But I can't describe how poorly the communication is with this business owner. I reached out to him for a quote and availability. I agreed to his price and he never responded to the availability on multiple occasions. I finally reached out one last time telling them that I was moving forward with someone else and then he decides to respond quickly. Not sure how any business plans to generate more business or keep existing customer especially when they can't even communicate properly. This guy is an absolute angel! My cat was stuck on a tall tree for 5 days straight and decided go seek help from yelp. He responded in a matter of seconds! He came geared up and made his way up. Mind you it was not an easy climb because the tree was riddled with branches! To make matter worse, my cat did not know him. He kept inching in closer, and just stayed at it until finally my cat walked toward him. It was such a relief to have my cat rescued! I was so grateful and was about to pay him but he refused! I was taking a bet with Master Arbor Service since there were no Yelp reviews to go off from but I am so glad I went with them! I probably sent quotes to 10 tree trimming/removal companies through Yelp and Master Arbor Service was the lowest and quickest to reply and come out for a visual consult. I wanted my Jacaranda tree removed and had some pretty big roots unleveling my front yard. During the visual consult, we agreed on a price, signed the contract (this is a legit certified contractor and licensed), and then the work started immediately! The full removal of the tree and roots was spread over two days and probably took 5ish hours total? It was split over two days because the stump grinder needed to be rented. I contacted my local waste company provider and got my two free yardwaste certificates to provide as well to reduce my overall cost. Miguel came all the way to alpine to look at the job, he wasn't phased. Few days leter this guy came and with his bear hands literally chopped a 70ft pine with his hand! He asked "are you not entertained?!" I said i have 40 more. Chuck norris has nothing on miguel. The trees suicided faster than hilarys friends. Miguel was pretty hungry and decided to finely chip 200+ yards of branches and ate them. He then proceeded to motor boat every stump i had and nothing was left! He was professional about his opinions and explained how he would bring the tree down. I'm addition, he is license and asked us to fill a contract. We used Miguel first to remove our huge fire stick tree that had started to lean into a shared wall and he did an absolutely immaculate job! We then had him return to remove a weird cactus tree and our bougainvillea that was unmanageable. Lastly, he just came to remove the stump to our loquat tree that had fallen over during one of the recent storms. I hired Master Arbor Service in Nov after searched the different companies and talked to Miguel several times. He gave me very good impression for his arboriculture knowledge, and his enthusiasm of the job. His company is very official with license and insurance, etc. and his quote was very competitive. I believed this was the one that I would trust and rely on. They came on time and worked so hard for several days for my full of old and new trees at front and backyard (the previous owner is a master gardener who planed a lot of things). Some trees were very tall, some were very old and broken by yearly harsh weather exposure. They got everything done well at the time frame as they promised. I have been so happy each time when I see the clean yards, and felt so grateful for found them and had their service. I definitely recommend them to my friends and coworkers and do my tree service with them again. My very best wishes to Miguel and his crews. If you are looking to have any landscaping done on your property or place of business, whatever you do, do not call on this company. Miguel Salazar was given a job of completely removing 10 trees, stump and all. First he showed up 2 hours late on the date of starting the job. Second he showed up with no gas for his equipment. He was the one that gave us the quote of the job. He started the job by dropping the six trees and allowing the branches to come down on our neighbors fence which he was supposed to repair. We had to leave but he was going to continue the job and we asked for a quote of four more trees which we accepted. His Job was to drop the trees, remove all 10 stumps, haul away the branches, cut up the logs and stack them in a certain area. All he did was drop the first 6 trees then the next day went to the other 4 trees and dropped them. Miguel was paid in full for the bottom 6 trees. His saw broke and needed to go purchase a new saw. We put our trust in this person to return and get the full job finished. The next day he called and asked for more money, but in the mean time the first 6 trees were not completed. He had only dropped the trees but had not removed the stumps or hauled any of the branches away, or cut the logs and stack them in the designated area. Nor did he fix the fence of the neighbor that he allowed the branches to come down on. He said he could fix it but did not. We received a call from him the next day to ask for more money up front. He was refused especially since the job of the 6 trees were not finished and he was fully paid on that part of the job. We have called several times all week on both of his numbers that were given to us and each call was ignored. I will never recommend this company to anyone. His license should be pulled. Very very poor business. Not to be trusted in any way shape or form. read more
