TLDR: good food, but extremely overpriced…read more Bedford Gourmet is centrally located and has plenty of parking. There is a wide variety of options for food, including different sandwiches, soups, noodles, and hot and cold drinks. One issue here is that everything is wildly overpriced. It costs almost $7 per half sandwich, so almost $14 for a full sandwich that's made with regular sandwich bread. I'm sorry, but the quality does not match the prices. Don't get me wrong, they're tasty, but so were the sandwiches at the now closed village green deli. What makes these sandwiches deserving of such a hefty price tag? Additionally, the staff members are cold and often rude. Several other Bedford residents have commented to me on separate occasions that they felt like the employees act like they either don't have time for you or are doing you a favor by handing you the premade food you are paying for. That pretty much sums it up. I also heard recently that they got rid of the discount they had for first responders, "because too many people were using it." I did not confirm this with the BG team, myself, but isn't that what a discount is for? For a particular group to use it? Anyways -- bought 3 chicken curry sandwiches recently and paid $45 after tax. That'll be the last time I shop here, unfortunately.

Can't wait. Arrived Saturday mid morning to find this nook of a place at the north end of Main Street Katonah packed. Line is about a 10 minute wait. Worth it.

What a CUTE, adorable, perfect little bakery in the heart of Katonah!…read more Located right across from the Katonah train stop, it's the perfect little destination no matter where you're traveling from. Not only is this place so cute, simple, quaint and filled with locals - the bakery items are absolutely delicious and drool worthy. Though everything here is pretty minimal, they know what they're doing displaying all their delicious baked goods through that glass window. It makes the choices SO hard. I loved how kind and nice the cashier was, despite there being such a long line and it being so busy on a Sunday, she greeted us with a smile and kindness while helping us make the perfect choice for our afternoon treats. We ended up going for the orange zest and blood orange icing loaf slice (I wish I remembered the exact name) and the monkey bread. Wow. The monkey bread was out of this world and a pretty decent size! This isn't normally my go to, but my hubby loves cinnamon and soft - it was exactly that. Crispy, flaky, soft and pillowy when you bite into it. SO fresh and delish! We ended up ordering an unsweetened matcha latte but next time will for sure try their coffee! Limited seating and space is available, so I wouldn't say it's a good spot for large groups but the line moves pretty fast and it's totally worth it. Also, they're now open on Sundays, woohoOo!

When I say, we found the perfect spot, we found the perfect spot. They were playing music, but not at that stupid loud volume that everybody seems to think they need to play music in a venue where you want to have a meal with friends or a cup of coffee and chat. It was there, but not intrusive. It was a great combination of eclectic without that mainstream pablum that you hear in every Starbucks, every elevator, every doctors office, everywhere. They had a wonderful selection of coffee and all of it was very reasonably priced. The staff was lovely; greeted me immediately and went out of their way to be kind. We found a great table and we were able to play and never felt like we were taking up too much space. Other people found their tables and everybody was very friendly. The decor was funky and just what I want from a café. They had food and pastries that I didn't get a chance to try, but my mocha with oat milk was fantastic. We live in Connecticut, but we might travel to go here, just because. Just because.
