NOT A FAMILY RESORT. Walked into room as a single mom with her 4 year old daughter as I thought it would be safe. Instead Later after midnight when I tapped on neighbors door and asked nicely for them to keep it down and I was greeted with a puff of weed all over me. I walked back to my room and had 2 women kick my door in, break our lock. Called security and police, and guess what...they wanted me to pack all my stuff up, pack it up in my car, wake my daughter up, put her in her car seat, then unload her and drag all my stuff into another room at 130 in morning all without a security escort? While the women who kicked my door in got to stay warm and continue to party the rest of the night. Let me not forget that some other random guest came out and told security and police that after the incident, she heard people thru her wall laughing and making comments that she was going to kill me after everything appeared calm again. THEN the lock that was kicked out wasn't even attempted to be fixed til 10am next day.

This was my first time ever skiing and visiting Massanutten, I was really pleased. Let's start by the lodging which we got a two modern rooms with half kitchen and it was 5 of us and plenty of room . The ski resort as a first time was nice. I signed up for the beginner ski lesson which costed about $115 included all the ski gears. Tall Jon was our instructor and I must say he was great and had a lot of patience!! Now let's complain about the food at the ski resort that to me was a pit pricey and really had no flavor! I would assume after skiing for many hours people would be hungry and would want real food? Will I go back? Definitely! I would love to check it out during spring/summer for other activities such as kayaking, zip lining and horseback riding.

Great ski patrol here. They can spot a fracture at 10 paces!

They've done a lot of updates to the lodge at Massanutten, these updates were much needed. I'm not the worlds biggest skier or snowboarder, but I can drink hot chocolate like nobody's business. They've updated the lodge in many ways, paint, carpet, sound system, seating, heat...All things that are very important for those waiting for friends and family to return from the slopes. Last winter my kids had a great time snowboarding, but waiting around in the lodge for them was not fun- not at all. It needed to be painted, the concessions were poor quality and there wasn't even a fire in the fireplace or outside in the propane fire pits. But this year there was a big difference. All the fire pits were blazing, it looked like new chairs and tables inside and out were procured and it looks like they just decided to finally put some money into the lodge. It was needed. I actually got a chance to see the ski patrol area as well because my son broke his wrist while snowboarding, and that even looked to be in great shape. Granted you may never have to get there and I hope that you don't, but it looks like Massanutten finally sunk some money into the lodge and all the other areas around it. Maybe it was all the poor reviews, who knows, but there are many other areas and attractions around Massanutten that really need attention, some paint, and someone to make it look like they care about more than just taking your money. I'm glad whoever it is that's in charge of the ski lodge finally decided to take some of the money they've been taking from us and put it to good use. Three stars is better than I would have given the lodge last year- but still not to the level I expect from a "resort" like this. No where near the level of the lodges I've been to in Germany or even in Ohio.

Valley Fest 2021 Beer & Wine fest, Massanutten! Very poor fest this year only 14 beer tents, no samples.

My family has been coming to this resort for 10 plus years and have enjoyed the facilities and activities. The Valley Feast is one we really enjoy. However, this year it was a big let down. Not sure if it was covid or what but no samples of beer but you can sample wine.

Terrible resort and piss poor customer service We went to the go carts and bungie jump and waited for an hour while 2 teenagers managed the ride After waiting 30 minutes one of the ride attendants decided to go on break. After another 30 min wait it rained All of this and they wanted to sell me on a time share for $30000

Here is the ski school starting 30 minutes late; no explanation or apology was given.

The kids ski school started 30 minutes late this morning; no apology or explanation was given. Watching 30 kids shiver and shuffle wasn't fun. The ski school is a good program, but the service is lacking. Massanutten faces this challenge throughout; they charge premium pricing and provide sub-par service.

Great room design and very practical. Wish they had a stove to cook in. I can do without a dishwasher and wash everything by hand.

Once we were seated, I was shocked that they didn't offer or ask if a high chair was needed for my 2 year old. I am used to most places asking when they see small children. I saw the high chairs and just grabbed one myself. The waitress did acknowledge us once we sat down and let us know she would be back shortly. No problem, gave us some extra time to finalize what we wanted. We had 2 kids, 2 adults in our party. I ordered the caramel latte with cold foam, mom ordered a coffee, kids got a lemonade and also a strawberry lemonade. The strawberry lemonade is really good. The latte I ordered itself was pretty good but the cold foam threw me off because it wasn't sweet, it tasted like pure heavy whipping cream thickened. I added Splenda to the top to make that taste like something. I wasn't sure if that was on purpose. For food we had Sticky Chicken which is fried chicken between French toast and it's supposed to have sriracha on the chicken and maple glaze on top, mom ordered steakhouse omelette and the kids did eggs & bacon; French toast and bacon. My mom didn't enjoy her food at all, the filling was not much and she said it tasted very bland. The scrambled eggs for one of the kids also wasn't enjoyable. I didn't try the eggs but can only go off of their word and barely eaten plates. The chicken in my meal was pretty good, the French toast is on thick slices of bread. It was overall okay. I also had grits and they're made mill grits style in case you're a fan or not of that texture of grits. We had to ask for silverware, as did the table next to us I noticed. The waitress was nice nasty in way. Where she tried to be nice with a hint of rudeness, but she could've been just having an off day. We asked for more splenda for my mom's coffee. She never bought it. I got up and grabbed some from another table because we figured she wasn't going to do it. When it was time to pay, she did go over the items first to confirm if everything was good to go, but her delivery and rushing of it was off putting. Like she walked up and didn't ask if we were ready for the check, she just said okay who's taking care of the bill or is it split or together with her card reader. I felt like I had to rush to go ahead and grab my wallet to pay and it was a little intimidating how she stared during the tipping part of it, which I was going to tip regardless of the lackluster service. Overall it seems like this could be a hit or miss place. I probably wouldn't go back but definitely think others should form their own opinions from their own experience

Really if you are able and willing to drive a little further out to Harrisonburg 20-30 min away where all of the shops and restaurants are, I am sure you will have a better dining experience. Here, it just gets you cause of convenience and I am a little disappointed that for a resort their food isn't that great. Some standouts I would order again: Sweet tea & their spinach dip appetizer. Burger is just ok, kinda small and the beef a little dry.

The hotel is clean, modern, and reasonably priced, but honestly, the real highlight is the Ridge Room. After a long day on the road, I really don't want to get back in the car to find dinner, so having a rooftop restaurant just steps from the room is perfect. The mountain views are great, and the farm-to-table menu is always interesting. We've eaten here several times, and it has never disappointed. I have found the front staff and the wait staff to be lacking in their consideration towards restaurant guests. It seems that they are picking and choosing whom they choose to grant a great experience to. Service: The front staff and waitress we had carried an air of attitude when dealing with me and my family. It seemed like they were not keen to accommodate a few of our basic requests which essentially boiled down to laziness. To be honest, they are very petty when it comes to getting a table on their rooftop...when my family (of 5) came in, they told us it was first come first serve and sat us inside. Another family came in with 3-4 adults and 2 kids after we were seated, to which they promptly moved them outside even though they were inside as well when a spot opened up. I'm not truly understanding the mentality of service here and frankly thought for a nice establishment there would be better decorum and attitude towards guests. Food: overall pretty good. I found the food and drink to be solid. In summary, the food is good here but doesn't surpass the service we received.
