In short, you get what you pay for. This parlor is not for those seeking professional therapeutic massages.
I called up at 7 pm after a long workday resulting significant back and shoulder pain. I needed a good massage and most everywhere else was either closed or booked. Thankfully this establishment was open and had an immediate opening. Aesthetics aside, I immediately got an odd vibe from the place, completely aside of course from the significant language barrier with the one employee I met. It just seemed like a cheap-construction spa. But hey! Maybe it was going to be a low-price hidden gem with sacrifices on decorations to afford excellent employees. This was not the case.
The massage started off with some unorthodox rythmic pelvic body-shoving followed by a much-needed dive into my neck and upper back. Over the 60 minutes there was focus on my back, shoulders, arms, and legs. But one thing that made me incredibly uncomfortable was a recurring focus on my hips and upper thigh. By any standards of therapeutic massage, there was some unnacceptably innapropriate contact. No bueno.
After not massaging my feet or head, and with only about 5 minutes left in the appointment, the masseuse began rubbing my lower stomach. By this point it was already quite clear what the intent of this action was. I politely requested that she work on my feet for a few minutes, at which point the alarm went off. Although my scapula felt great, I was much more stressed than when I entered.
