I explained that I had booked using a gift card and I understood I would need to pay for the additional service that I requested. They insisted that my gift card was expired and that I wasn't able to use it. This is INSANE as I just received the gift card a few months ago. After arguing with me for about 10 minutes, they insisted I pay via Venmo and did not allow me to use my credit card. They then stopped me and insisted that I send an additional tip. I will never be returning to Ocean Spa.

After the session, there was no follow up or check in at all, which has never happened in any of my previous experiences here. I was tired of bouncing around, so I gave it time to see if things might improve. In the end, she agreed it was not the right fit. What was most disappointing was how it was handled. It took several calls, emails, and texts from me to learn that my sessions had been canceled less than 24 hours before my next appointment. The front desk told me the owner was supposed to call me about the cancellations and to suggest an alternative therapist, but that call never happened, and there was no follow up afterward. There was also a brief moment that stood out. I had left more than 20 percent, though less than the week before because the experience felt different. When I shared that, it was suggested that the front desk might not have passed the full amount along. That surprised me, as the front desk team has always been consistently kind, professional, and trustworthy. I want to be clear that the front desk staff are excellent. They make scheduling seamless, communicate thoughtfully, and create a welcoming environment every time you walk in. I am writing this because I cared about this place. I used to genuinely look forward to coming here. Moving on feels like losing something familiar, almost like losing a friend. I would still welcome a one on one conversation with the owner, as I would have appreciated that before. I hope the practice finds its way back to what once made it so special.

A 24 hour cancellation notice would have allowed to make alternate plans somewhere else.
