If this is an ongoing issue, it honestly makes booking here feel unreliable no matter how good your therapists are. ------------------------- Previous review: Why have an online booking system that lets clients choose a provider if the assigned therapist isn't actually guaranteed? I specifically booked a one-hour foot reflexology session with Jackson, but was assigned to Trung instead upon arrival. Trung was kind, but he appeared much older and didn't have the strength I was expecting for a reflexology session, so the experience wasn't what I booked for. I still tipped because I felt bad that he was working at his age. When I brought up the provider mismatch to the receptionist afterward, I was told that even if a specific name is assigned during online booking, the actual therapist is not guaranteed. That policy should really be made clear upfront before customers book.

I paid cash for a 60-minute massage, and the masseuse kept touching and jiggling my butt and making comments about it. I came in for lower back pain and clearly told her to focus there. At the time, I brushed it off as harmless appreciation, but it clearly wasn't appropriate. I came back on 3/13 for a 90-minute massage and asked the masseuse for hot stones, same as my first massage. She left the room and never came back. I was left sitting there so long that I fell asleep. To my surprise, I was abruptly woken up by multiple staff members yelling at me because they were locking up, mocking me as I'm getting dressed, after they had forgotten about me. Completely unacceptable. I addressed my confusion at checkout, and they apologized, said they forgot because they were rushing, and told me to come back and they would take care of me I returned 3/15 with my partner. The owner immediately grabbed my hand and apologized, which made it seem like they were trying to fix things. But toward the end of my partner's massage, the masseuse asked him if he wanted a sexual act. This was after they saw us walk in together and paired with my experience just two days ago. At that point, it was beyond disturbing. I was then told to come back on Wednesday, March 18 for a refund. I drove all the way back out to Santa Monica, only for the owner to refuse it. The situation escalated, and he became aggressive and tried to swing at me, which I have on video. I had to call the police, and there is now an active investigation. This place is chaotic, unprofessional, and honestly feels unsafe. I gave them multiple chances and every single time it got worse. Do yourself a favor and stay far away.

I presented my gift certificate, and the staff member called her manager and began yelling in Chinese over the phone. When I expressed discomfort, I was dismissively told "that's just how we speak." That is not a response a paying customer should ever receive. The one bright spot was Suzy, who performed my pedicure with genuine care and professionalism. She is the sole reason this isn't a zero-star review. A note to the owner: Please fix your contact information -- one of your listed phone numbers doesn't work or accept voicemail, and it creates a poor first impression before a customer even walks through the door. More importantly, please invest in training your staff to treat customers with basic respect and warmth. Yelling and arguing are not acceptable in front of guests. If internal conversations need to happen, take them to the back -- out of earshot. If owning a business in the U.S. has been your dream, please don't let customers become casualties of that journey. We should leave feeling relaxed and valued, not stressed and unwelcome. With some changes, this place has real potential -- but right now, the experience does not match that promise.

I went to gym and after working out I felt like I needed to pamper myself (I normally go to the spa at the four seasons) but I was feeling very adventurous I guess So as I drove by and saw the place I placed a phone call and an appointment right on the spot at the Massage place thinking I can walk to Chaya of Venice restaurant (next door) after my massage Lets start with the woman she was very rude, very strong garlic smell coming from her breathing and with very lo enthusiasm to do a massage. Perhaps my fault for scheduling a massage at 8:00 The place very noisy, they have a dancing class next door so they were playing the music very loud jumping and dancing with the beat so my massage was very tense with a mix of disco music haha The Massues started to massage me with her elbows I guess, the more I said please not too hard the harder she did to the point the pain was not tolerable, and I can handle strong massage, but this was more like an angry Asian massage mixed with noise, dancing screaming music coming from next door) and garlic smell. The worst part wast that I was lying there on my stomach hopping the massage would just end soon in retrospect I should just got up and left So needless to say........ My husband and I decided that we would like a massage while on our vacation to the LA area. We were staying in Santa Monica and most of the massage places there were booked in short notice. So we called Massage Place and they were able to get us scheduled for that afternoon at the Venice location. It was only $47 for an hour massage. We each had two totally different massages that day. Mine was more of a theraputic massage - the lady was very nice and it was relaxing and soothing. My husband on the other hand had a lady who put him in all sorts of pretzel-like positions and cracked his whole body. He said she did most of the massage over top of him using her feet, he said it was the best massage ever! read more

I have sent a ton of people here - it is a spa quality massage at a tiny fraction of the price. They have super late appointments and can do same day appointments too! The only downside is that they have signs saying that in order to keep the prices low, they request that you tip a higher percentage than you usually would. I am fine with that, however the signs IN the room suggest a super high percentage, versus the signs at the front counter suggest a lower percentage. Aside from that, I think the place is clean, calming and perfect for an every day type of massage! I really like the deep tissue there =) read more

If you want a deep tissue massage this is the place to go and Katherine is the one to ask for. I carry a lot of tension in my shoulders and back, and am pretty active. Despite all foam rolling and stretching I do, there is always some tightness in my muscles. The masseuse (Katherine) got into the fascia immediately. The process was incredibly painful. But at the end off the day, if you ask for hard pressure and deep tissue, you're asking for that toxin flushing experience you can't get from a relaxing light pressure Swedish. Lighting is dim and you can truly relax and feel like a new person after being rolfed. Despite a plethora of available modalities, the sweet spot is a Swedish-Thai combo. You get the best of both worlds, with the Thai introducing warming oils to the mix. Note: No shower facilities available, so if you are finicky, skip the oil. Although it's recommended. As soon as you enter, you fill in a questionnaire for any focus areas and any other instructions for your masseuse. Within 2 minutes you are let into your private massage and the masseuse works her magic. There's no clock watching and you get the entire time you booked. As the massage progresses and the modalities switch, you can feel the tension and knots disappear. It reminds me of Thailand level massages. There's limited conversation and you simply let your body relax and feel renewed. Tip: Medium firm is a sweet spot for massage intensity.
