I've been a loyal Massage Envy client for about two years and usually enjoy my facials, but my recent visit with Natalia was disappointing. I typically get a microdermabrasion, extractions with dermaplaning, and she didn't even bring it up or ask about my usual routine. Instead, the session felt focused on sales rather than my actual skincare needs. At one point, she even told me I looked older than my age, which came across as a sales tactic and felt unnecessary and rude. She kept pushing for the chemical peel, even though I let her know I have an event coming up and didn't want my skin to peel. I said I've never done a chemical and continued pushing for it. It honestly felt like cotton balls being passed over my face with lotions and products, not a typical facial with neck massage :/ I've been getting facials since I was a teen, and have never had an experience like that before. I left feeling uncomfortable and not cared for, which was really disheartening given my past positive visits. I had a terrible experience during my facial, Instead of relaxing and enjoying my facial, I felt lectured and pressured to buy products and add ons I didn't ask for. It was disappointing and not the experience I was hoping for. Definitely won't be returning to her. I only come because I have hours from paying the membership over a year. I canceled it and now using up my credit, but hey it is money I paid so I should come out feeling relaxed and clean skin per past visits. She even talked during the WHOLE thing and did some weird elbow thing into my shoulder blades/back that made me want to scream in pain. Overall, I came here because I was gifted a gift Card. They're really close to my house but I have heard more bad than good about how this place is run, so I was concerned. I made an appointment in July but I had to cancel because I got sick. I rescheduled for August and arrived early. My appointment was 12:30 and I was there closer to noon. I purposely asked the girl behind the counter costs and had her check my GC as well for balance. I didn't want to pay for anything out of pocket and was desperately trying to make sure that would not happen before service. My appointment was with Carlos. He arrived to the quiet room after 12:30 and then I went to the bathroom and hanged out of my clothes- so I was robbed of the actual 90 minute massage and he ended before 2pm as well. But overall it was nice. One thing stuck- he left the room saying "drink plenty of water" and usually they're waiting outside the room with a cup. He was simply gone. Then I get to the counter and the same girl says that it will be $188 and she is lucky that I was chill from my massage, but how completely stupid is she and how desperate is management? It felt shady and annoying. I asked again, I have an email that was sent from your office that my introduction rate was $113- why are you not honoring that? Very disappointed in Manager Gloria. I've been going to Massage Envy Orangecrest for a year now and everyone at the front desk and the technicians have all been above average. My first encounter with their manager Gloria left me almost speechless. I found her to be extremely rude and very rushed like I was putting her out for asking questions. She spoke over me several times just confirming my suspicions that I was bothering her even though she phoned me 5 days after leaving her a message. She goes beyond and above the call of duty to make sure everyone is happy and gets what's they want and need. Thank you Massage Envy for taking care of her she is the best! Juan is absolutely amazing and I have been seeing him once a week for a 2 hour session since 2014, when Juan is on vacation I see Carlos who is also amazing! In fact I seen him today! I have being a customer here for many years, I had my up and downs (years ago) but at the end I love this place, why? because I have found the best massage therapist in the area that helps me to reduce my chronic back pain. Month to month I visit massage envy to keep my body with less pain and if I go in bearly walking I get out feeling like new for days or weeks. I highly recommend you stay away from this particular ME. They don't respond to customer complaints and they have kept my back account hostage for 2 years. I am an RN that has paid for an ME membership for over 6 years. When Covid hit, they continued to take money from my account. I called to ask them to freeze until they reopened and they wouldn't. They continued to take my money, even when they were not open for appointments. I have sent over 20 e-mails and made 18 calls. The 2 girls that play tag team with my calls. Are very unprofessional. They REFUSE to allow me to speak with the owner or anyone else who can or will help me. I can't freeze my account or I will lose the over 30 hours of my money they have. Avoid this branch of ME. Do not buy their membership. You do not get any benefits. Let me give you a little context on the BULLSHIT CUSTOMER SERVICE Massage Envy really provides. I am honestly surprised they have 4 1/2 stars on here. Their massages aren't that great, all of their massage therapists are underpaid and often times unprofessional. I prepaid $720 for a membership that actually doesn't have any benefits. On their site, it says that you get lower rates for massages...well after doing the math, you are still paying about $60 per massage/facial/wellness service. When I would go,I would ask how many hours she had left. They would tell her and then she would ask "Ok so I can use these hours any time right?" Every single time Massage Envy employees would tell her. "Yes, the "benefits" never expire" I was super excited to book our facials since they've told her she had 4 hours left on my account, came to find out she cannot redeem the hours because the agreement expired. Nowhere in the contract states that my benefits hours (hours I prepaid for) expires. Please look at the contract terms below. My agreement started on 02/25/18 - 02/25/19. Anyways stop supporting a business like this that takes advantage of their customers' trust. Their therapists do a very good job and am never disappointed. However it is misleading when they say 60 minute massage, it's basically a 45 minute massage as you are taken back usually a few minutes after your start time. Then they have questions about how you want your massage and leave the room for you to get undressed and then finish roughly 5 minutes before the top of the hour. I've checked the clock, massage start at 6:10 or 6:15 and finish at 6:55. read more

I cancelled same day due to a traffic accident and I called an hour before while on my way but my phone died. I then told them at the time of my appointment when my phone finally turned on that I was still on traffic and since I cancelled the same day I was charged 62.5 even though I was going to become a member and felt like I should of at least been charged a member late fee. Because of this experience, I will never walk into another massage envy again in my life. Our actual massage therapists and treatments were EXCELLENT and EXCEPTIONAL and EXCEEDED my expectations. The front desk staff is the issue. We were gifted a $100 gift card to go to massage envy. I decided to make a last minute couples massage for my husband and I. All locations were understandably booked so we ended up at this horrid location. Unfortunately I could not locate that gift card; my husband wanted to cancel but I told them about their stringent cancellation policy so we went anyways. I mistakenly went to the other riverside location 15 minutes before my appointment. This office seemed great, front desk staff were great, greeted us instantly, the office was gorgeously decorated, and they called the other location to let us know that we're on our way. They stated they should be able to help us as this was an innocent mistake, and even gave us the address to Orangecrest. It took about 15 minutes to get to Orangecrest. From outside, the location is not half as attractive as the other riverside location. We walked in, there were about 4 women standing behind the front desk. It took about a minute for one of them to RUDELY acknowledge our presence, "hi??!" I told her we had an appointment but were late because we went to the wrong location. She said k and started looking through the computer. My husband then asked if the other location called. She said ohh yes. I then said would it be possible to get a 30-minute massage versus an hour so we do lose our money. Another front desk staff decided to jump in acknowledge our presence and said Ohhh they're booked right after. I said ok but can we do 30 minutes versus one hour? She said oh well we can't. I said why not can't you just change it 30 minutes? She then said well we don't offer 30 minute sessions. I then said can you go over time to get us the few minutes of lateness back? My husband started reexplaining the situation assuming the lady was not understanding our plight. Another front staff jumped in and decided to suddenly get us regjstered because "this was wasting more time". I assumed her cutting off the conversation meant that she would somehow accommodate us at the end with a discount or a gift card. As the front staff checked me in and another one checked my husband in, mines asked me for my address, when I told her my city (Rancho Cucamonga) she said "oh! Ok!" I don't know what that meant, as if she were surprised because I'm a very young black woman living in a nice city and maybe that's why they ignored us when we walked in initially. Anyways, like I said our sessions were AMAZING. I wish when I booked my total stretch over the phone the front desk would have TOLD me I was supposed to wear gym clothes. Fortunately, my clothes were stretchy enough so my INCREDIBLE therapist made it work. But checking out with the front staff was annoying as well. Front staff was still incredibly rude and short and did not offer a discount or gift card or free product or service for the issues and unprofessionalism. The lady who cut off the conversation was gossiping with two other women about services and my VERY generous husband looked angrier than when we came in and refused to tip a penny. When my husband refused to tip one of the front desk staff said to the other, "ok! I'm leaving!" And walked from behind the desk. My husband, obviously irritated by the whole ordeal, stood at the door facing the door until we were done checking out. We both said as little as possible and ran out as soon as we were done. It's not even about the money; it's about customer service! Yes, you make money off of your cancellation policy and not offering discounts. But you ruin your relationship with that customer and lose THOUSANDS that you could have gained from that customer over a lifetime. My husband and I are execs and we travel a lot so we get massages monthly to ease the back pain. They lost two customers they could've had for a lifetime.
