Joined many, many years ago due to availability, now there is a 1-2 week wait. Finally signed up with "G", obvious now why she was only one available. When I asked for repositioning due to injured shoulder she got me a pillow and informed me "maybe you should see someone else bc we don't get along...even though Im part done". Umm?I hadn't spoke a word except to ask for more concentration on my extremities. Was told she wasn't a 'mind reader' and that maybe we should cancel the session. I was soft and polite. I made a 10am Saturday morning facial appointment with Emma of which Massage Envy confirmed. I arrived 10 minutes before the appointment as instructed, completed the paperwork, then waited. 15 minutes after the appointment should have begun, the front desk let me Emma was not there yet and that she would instead stay late so I could come back at 6pm same day to get my service. I agreed to this. At 5pm I call to confirm my appointment before driving back over there yet again, they tell me Emma has left for the day and I have no 6pm appointment... wildly disappointing experience. So glad I called before letting them waste more of my time. If you're interested in actually having services rendered and some semblance of management- look elsewhere. read more

Don't go there not only is the massage bad but the service also. The girls don't give refunds if they don't advise you on the top. 2 machines one for the service and another one just for the top. The stupid girl told me to use the one with the tip and I ended up spending $51.93 for a tip for a $41 rotten massage. Thank goodness my bank is going to refund me for everything. And if Massage Envy tries to take my $$ back, I will take them to small claims court for mis advertising. They even admitted that the website is screw up on the pricing. This place has has gone downhill severely over the last year. I'm not sure how they stay in business with only a few therapists available. It seems as though it must be a management issue if all of your therapists leave and you can not keep any new staff. It's sad because I live within walking distance of this place but now I drive to the palm harbor location which is amazing and always has lots of availability. Don't waste your time coming here. Just had the worst facial here yesterday. Jill started to cleanse my face but her touch was so soft and technique of applying the product so haphazard she missed some spots completely... The parts directly in the lower center between (1) lip/nose and (2) chin were never touched during the service! I mentioned both issues to her early on but there was no adjustment. Felt like a series of poor product applications and ineffective removal (and not all removed properly) She gave a weak attempt at extractions on my nose and none on my chin. Everything she did felt tentative - like the first time she was doing it. There was no sense of competence or confidence. Waste of an hour After the service I asked to speak to the woman at the front desk privately so as not to embarrass anyone. I told her the truth and suggested the owner / manager have the service performed by her to see the problems first hand. If I were an owner I'd appreciate the feedback She listened and asked me to wait to relay information to the manager. Comes back and discounted the service since I wasn't pleased. But goes on to say their facials are intended to be more for relaxation and it's their practice not to really touch the areas I mentioned around the mouth since they don't really use product in those areas?? Seriously, you can't make this up! The chin and nose are the target areas for cleansing and extractions ... but they don't bother w/ them during a facial? I wasn't asking for a therapeutic massage but a basic facial. I've had many facials over decades - some great, others just ok. But never have I felt the need to go home to wash my face to feel clean after one. read more

Rubbed the wrong way, simply awful front desk experience with the business manager ruining a truly great massage. This is my first public negative review. Unfortunate there is not a way to give 0 stars because that is what this experience deserves. I had been gifted a 3 massage membership for Father's Day and time was ticking to use the membership. I arrived on time for my appointment with Denise who is a wonderfully talented and intuitive massage therapist who I had previously seen. After a short wait in the tranquil area to rev down Denise provided to find every sore spot I knew I had and a few others. She is a hidden gem who works a very limited schedule. When it was time to check out the fireworks began. The business manger could not find me in the system, she could not find my wife in the system and she could not find the prepaid contract in the system despite my having a copy with me and a contract number. After protracted haggling Dabney the Business Manager insisted I pay (again) which I did to prevent a very ugly scene. The 2 or 3 others at the font desk where no better, they observed the whole process and smirked. Needless to say this took any tranquility and relaxation away the massage had provided. I told Dabney to keep the rest of the pre-paid contract when she pressed hard to get me to book another session. Does she get it at all? I went out to my car, called home where my wife told me she had purchased the gift at another location and I should go back in and tell them. By the time I returned they had figured it out, despite having a contract with a receipt number etc they were clueless. No apology or make good of any type was offered. Now I am not crazy so I will use the rest of my gift and unless something I can't conceive of happens, never, ever go back. Too bad they are so clueless. read more

Massage Envy is great. This is a very nice, modern, comfortable facility. There are a number of very good therapists. Like anywhere else, you may have to experiment a bit to find the one(s) you love. They will try to sell you a membership, which is not a scam. Basically you agree to buy a one hour massage each month at a reduced rate. They roll over and you don't ever lose them so long as you stay a member. You can give them away, combine them into longer sessions, or whatever. We joined on a six month plan and have stayed on for over two years now. They may try to sell you a 12 month membership, but we were able to talk them into a six month membership when we first started. It didn't matter because we were hooked and have stayed on (month to month, we can cancel anytime) ever since. The customer service is great, and they will take care of any complaints or issues you may have. I recommend this place highly. read more

When I arrived there were 2 staff at the front desk and one guy in a small office off reception doing something on his cell phone. On the day my grandmother passed away I had to reschedule- they charged me. I understood. I kept my membership. Today I woke up congested and coughing with my eyes swollen, not something I figured they would want me to subject their esthetician to. They called and informed me I'd be charged again- no sympathy what-so-ever. Support local small salons, they're cheaper anyways. This place is a joke, the McDonalds of massage places. I was a bit hesitant to try Massage Envy but this place exceeded my expectations. Trinity and (I'm not sure of the other lady's name at the front desk) were very pleasant and welcoming. My masseuse was Wesley, he was amazing. He made me feel super comfortable and knew exactly how to find the right spots to focus on. He made sure pressure was right and was not awkward with conversation. During the massage I would've preferred the lights to be dimmer but I completely forgot to ask. Once the massage was over I expected to be bombarded with membership convo but Trinity was very respectful in her approach. There was a female employee there who came across unwelcoming but luckily I had very minimal interaction with her so that did not have much effect on my experience. Overall I would definitely consider booking again and would encourage anyone looking for a customized massage to give this place a try. read more

This place us run very badly..I had a gift certificate for $75 of which I used $50. the extra $25 was to be used in the future with free 30 massage they gave me but when I went to book not only had they no record of me but refused to honor both the $25 and the massage certificate...I wont be using them again and neither will my other family members that go there quite often. read more

Totally loved both massage therapists I had, but the management policies are not in your favor or even fair. During the pandemic they continued to charge for massages while closed for service. They said they cleared it with every member, but I never received any communication that offered a choice about not charging my card. I had to cancel my membership due to leaving the area with over 3 hours of charged massages left on my account. I was able to book 1 of those hours after cancelling, but when I tried to book the next time, they would not schedule the massage without a credit card. They give you limited amount of time to use your left over hours, by the way. The desk staff nor the manager were willing to discuss the fact that they had paid hours they could deduct for a no show, but could only parrot the company line that the system can't schedule an appointment without a credit card number. However, I received a text confirming and then cancelling the appointment while on the phone withthem. read more

Awesome experience! Every time I have visited a Massage Envy, it's great. This may be my favorite one thus far, though. It's very clean, modern, and well kept. There were little details that made the difference: like mouthwash in the bathroom, nicer tables than what I remember from any other Massage Envy visit, hands down the friendliest staff (on the phone and in person), complimentary bottled water (even room temperature available which I like best), etc. My massage therapist was awesome as well. She used a lot of techniques that incorporated stretching and massaging, which makes the world of a difference. She was able to read my body pressure wise: never had to ask for more or less pressure on any part of my body. She was very knowledgeable about the jaw as well: which is always a major plus for me with my jaw issues. Probably the best massage I've ever had really. I went here yesterday to redeem a gift card I had gotten for Christmas. I called about an hour beforehand and made an appointment for 1pm. They had advised me to arrive a little early to fill out a bit of paperwork, which I did, and had the paperwork completed in less than five minutes. I don't remember the name of the masseuse that I had, she was a younger girl with glasses, but she did a great job. Good pressure, payed good attention to trouble spots in my shoulders and she wasn't super talkative, which can be distracting. Overall, good experience =) read more

I have been going to this place for over 4 years and I love it. up until now I'd never had a problem. I am currently 34 wks pregnant therefor I have to get a prenatal certified therapist. I went yesterday and my therapists name was Jason. It began great. Due to my baby bump you have to lay on your side. Halfway through he had me lay on my back. The first thing my OB told me is that once I start showing laying on my back is a no no. It blocks breathing and blood flow to the baby. And I told the therapist that It is very uncomfortable for me. He gave me a wedge to lay underneath the upper portion of my back which did not help much at all. Ever since I left the appointment my right lower abdominal has been aching and hurting so bad. It's the next day and it is still hurting. That portion of my body was not massages but I feel like it came from laying on my back so long. I e have about 3 prior prenatal massages there and I haven't been asked to lay on my back. It was so uncomfortable laying there and I've had an extremely easy pregnancy and this is the most discomfort I've experienced thus far. I hope it didn't cause any serious issues. I will continue to go but I will request the therapist I've had in the past. read more

While the massage at Massage Envy - Clearwater, was decent. I signed up for a contract because I figured it would benefit the young lady that was soliciting me (working as a marketing coordinator for a resort company, I understand this). I had the membership for 5-6 months, in which during that time period I did not utilize, so I decided to cancel because I was going to be traveling for work. Upon cancellation, I paid the $60+ membership fee for each month, and accrued "credits" to come in and receive a massage. Upon trying to redeem the credits (that are still useable up to 60 days after cancellation), I was told that my significant other and I could not utilize those credits together, as since they are in my name, I cannot transfer them a credit due to me cancelling. INITIALLY, upon signing up for the membership, I was told I would be able to transfer credits for others to use, if I was unable to use them. They never stating the cancelling would not allow me to transfer those. I am not going to use 5-6 credits on my own within a 60 day period, and that was never disclosed. The customer service on this has honestly been poor, and I would not recommend this to any friends. Nor will I be returning, I only canceled due to travel purposes, and intended resubbing once I got settled back down, but if this is the way members are handled, no longer will I recommend this business to friends, family, or even my clientele at my resort properties. read more

Update: heard from the manager. Manager (Trinity) offered me the same thing the last lady (Natalie) offered - poor communication obviously. Wanted me to come in at 2:30 which I am unable to do (that is why I booked for 12:30). Told her I was unable to come in then and she said "okay I'm sorry, I hope you can still have a good day." Looks like that was the end of that. ‍ I do have to say Natalie was the only helpful employee I spoke to. Not that she resolved anything but she did at least seem to care. Made an appointment today after not sleeping for 3 days from a sore neck. Person on the phone was very friendly and helpful but when I showed up early for my appointment they said "actually the person you booked with isn't available." I booked 2 hours earlier! They just didn't know!? Also she made up some nonsense about seeing my number and "them" calling me but of course there are no missed calls or voicemails on my phone. * 5 minutes later * Actually just received a phone call from massage envy asking where I was for my massage! Apparently the front desk woman had NO idea what was going on and turned me away from a massage that could actually have happened! What in the world... worst service ever. Offered to go back for the massage and was told they are worried she won't have enough time at this point to give me a full massage so I should rebook. I let them know I will not be spending any money at their location and if the manager would like to make it better she can give me a call. We'll see if I hear from her. Unbelievable! read more

My massage therapist was CC and she was incredible. The best I've ever had. She has hands of an angel. My husband had Benita and she was fantastic as well. Very personable. BE AWARE!!! If I could give a zero review I would due to poor customer service!!! My last visit was in February and during check out, I asked the gal that checked me out when my contract was up as I did not want to renew. She told me April. I told her I did not want to continue my membership and she said she would take it off of auto renew. I left there thinking it was taken care of and my membership would be cancelled after April. Today I check my account and another payment was taken out. I called to question this and was told I never filled out the cancellation form. I explained that I told the gal at my last visit I did not want to renew and she made no mention of this form. She told me there was nothing she can do because I never filled this form out. I asked to speak to a manager. Again the manager Amy tells me I never filled out the cancellation form- I explained that there was never any mention of this form when I was in in February. She told me that the employees are trained to have this form filled out. I questioned as to why I never had mention of this form and is not my fault it wasn't filled out. She kept telling me over and over that she can either email it to me or I can pick it up. I explained to her that she can email it but this doesn't solve the issue as in February I asked to not renew. She said there was nothing she can do without the form- this was very upsetting to me as I explained once again that if her employees were trained to have this form filled out- WHY was it not brought before me In February. She just kept telling it must've been a misunderstanding. How clear is "I don't want to renew."???? And the fact that the gal told me she took me off of auto renew.....pretty clear as to what I said if her response was- I will take you off of auto renew! If there was a "misunderstanding" she should've asked more questions as to my intent to renew my membership!!! Excuses by management to not resolve a customer service issue when the EMPLOYEE was wrong not the customer and the customer has to pay in the end!!!! Terrible way to deal with this problem!!! Poor management with dealing with customer service- there is always something you can do for a paying customer!!!!!! Especially when it was a result of a poorly trained employee which reflects on the manager and company!! Oh and they make sure to put it all back on you stating this was all explained to you about the cancellation form when you signed up--sure then it should've been explained to the employee when I said I didn't want to renew!!!!!!! read more

I had my 1st all body massage here. I don't think I will ever have another. Unless the masseuse comes recommended. The older woman that did my massage talked alot. Not about anything not related but the questions or statements were unnecessary. I understand that the "whether the pressure was ok" question is important but basically the session should be quiet. I wasn't able to fully relax and let go. Questions like whether I understood or if something that was just said makes sense were too much. The place was nice so were the people. Alot of the massage therapist were older that was odd to me. The massage was good because like she said I slept like a baby that night. read more

Terrible customer service. Was quoted TWICE on the phone when inquiring the price of a facial if I booked today and was told $50, so I booked for that day. Arrived before my appt, was checked into appt, and then told I would be charged the full price of $90 instead of the $50 I was quoted. When I asked why I was being charged $40 more than the price I was quoted on the phone, they told me they could not answer my question because their boss wasn't there...so I then asked okay, well if my appt wasn't until the late evening time, why I was not informed over the course of the entire day before my appt, that my service would actually be $90. They did not have an answer for this, either. Instead, they waited until I arrived for my appt to inform me of this upcharge (one that I knew they were already scared to tell me about because the first receptionist I spoke to - though very nice - was shaking with nerves when giving me this news), when the cancellation fee was at it's highest. When I asked to cancel this appt because I was not paying $40 more than the original quoted price, they told me it would be $45 to cancel the appt (and that $45 was apparently "discounted for my inconvenience"). So then I asked to confirm that they are 1) asking me to pay $40 more than the original $50 quoted price, or 2) I can pay $45 to cancel the appt, which is $5 less than the original quote...they told me yes, this is correct - they then offered to sign me up for their membership which would cost me $65/mo, and they would give me the facial at $50 today...UM WHAT? WOW. I'm in disbelief at how TERRIBLE the customer service is here. I've worked in hospitality for many years and have never seen this much disregard to a customer before. Thought I'd give this place a try, despite the negative reviews...maybe a review on customer care would be beneficial to the business.
