I think with all massage places it depends on who you get. If you have someone here you like, great! If you're going on a whim last minute I highly don't recommend. To start: This was our second time here. First time my massage was okay and my husband's was terrible. Cut to 8 months later we couldn't remember if we liked this place so we went again. Within 2 minutes of the massage I remembered and knew right away i had the masseuse my husband got last time just based on his description of how it went. To summarize how this one went everything I asked not to have massages was. I always say no legs and have never not had them try to massage my legs, so I wear leggings now...she still tried to lift them up. She massaged towards my spine which is a no no and caused pain the next day. When massaging my arms she kept placing my hand on her body...eww. At one point she like straddled my head to massage my lower back. And it ended with me saying don't touch my face I break out to her touching my face and then vigorously and painfully scratching my scalp back and forth for reasons unknown. Would you agree to give more tips. If you are not satisfied here, you can try other locations. If you are satisfied here and agree with more tips...the masseur is very tired after giving you a massage." Tip is a privilege not a right. Utterly disgusted after paying $88 for massage and too just 2 weeks prior...perhaps the therapist needs adequate rest and proper hygiene/lunch break if she's tired? SHOUTOUT HELEN Just got the massage of my life last night-- had just done a mix of long travel, injury recovery, and physically intense performance. I asked for a therapeutic massage--Helen agreed, though within the first couple minutes I had to ask her to up the intensity. English isn't her first language, so she confirmed "Deeper?" and I said yes. Things definitely got a bit better, but I knew that I would need more pressure. I briefly considered asking for a bigger/stronger masseuse (Helen is a petite senior), but I gave benefit of the doubt and simply asked again to go harder. At this point she was like "Ohhhh you really mean it" and WHAM we went into high gear. The kind of massage where it was painful--I was panting and sweating like a proper workout--but so restorative and exactly what I needed. They do a great job with reflexology and stress management. Also obeyed all Covid protocols. NOT FOR ME 1. There are no doors on each "room " . They aren't really rooms because the " walls " don't reach the ceiling, instead of a door there is a curtain . 2. They do attempt to be quiet but, you hear everything. I heard a woman moaning, a man walk in flick his flip flops off , unzip his pants and put down his glasses. I also heard when people checked out. 3. I undressed with only my underwear and got under the towel. Initially I had a woman with very frail hands basically just push down on me through the towel. I asked a couple times if she was going to remove the towel. I don't think she spoke English. 4. I'd had enough she was just pushing on my body over a towel , I couldn't feel anything so I said I wanted to end the " massage " , it was pointless 5 . Another woman came in ask me if I wanted to use oil on my skin massage. I said yes and was willing to give her a try. I HAD ORDERED A 60 MINUTE DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE in the first place. 6. Her name was daisy , she did a fine job with lots of pressure. 7 . I stayed on my stomach the whole time. She did back arms , legs and some scalp, no front at all which is unusual to me I WON'T GO BACK I've had a lot of massages and I don't consider pressing on your back through a towel a massage The atmosphere was less than desirable Lastly From the swap from the First Lady to the second The male employee threw the curtain back she whipped off my towel naked body exposed with a g string on as they discussed what I wanted It didn't bother me but Was unprofessional and I could see a lot of people being uncomfortable I have no idea how some places get good reviews It makes me question people's taste or the validity of these review services read more

This rating reflects a combination of things, as I had a very confusing visit to Tao Massage Spa. To be fair, some of the issues were culturally inspired, and I take responsibility for my side of that. I called to make an appointment, and explained I wanted my neck and shoulders massages, especially. I was told "1/2 hour feet and 1/2 hour body". Since that seemed my only option, I accepted it. When I arrived, I saw a huge sign on the window announcing a "special" with neck and shoulder massage and reflexology. I asked for that (my first mistake). This turned out to be a quick massage sitting on a stool where one cannot relax for even a second as a massage therapist is pushing and you are trying to stay upright on the stool. I mentioned that this wasn't very comfortable and was offered the original combo, which I accepted. Here's where it got really irritating. The male masseuse decided he didn't want to do the massage, and the woman had to lie and tell me another client was booked in my place ( this was 5 minutes after the start of my one hour massage time - both options were one hour). To her credit, she did offer me a free 15 minute chair massage. One of their massage therapists came in and was sent home while I was in the chair. Then the woman who was working on me again lied, telling me they had booked a client for my second half hour. I attempted to pay her something for the "free massage" but she would not take the money. These are my suggestions: make sure you know what all of the massage options are before booking; do not request the "special" as it is not special, it's just "cheap" and "uncomfortable"; don't get a chair massage as the chair is very uncomfortable. My suggestion for this business is to stop trying to bring in customers with weird, uncomfortable offerings. They do not reflect well on your business. Also, if someone calls for a neck and shoulder massage, offer a half hour table massage for this purpose. read more

Short story: Daisy did great. I'll look forward to having her work in me again. I drove into pinellas county for a meeting, with a little bit of time to spare in the evening. If you want late night, spur of the moment, you are pretty much locked into an Asian massage. Sometimes they are great, sometimes they are stinkers. So yelp helps. This location was one of the few that was listed on Yelp, but it only had one review and the punctuation was sketchy. I had some qualms but I figured I could always walk out. The location is in an old strip mall, but don't let that deter you. Inside, it's clean and simple, exactly what you expect from an Asian esthetic. I appreciated that Daisy's English was almost perfect. She didn't try to up sell me while I was on the table (like so many Asian places do). She concentrated on exactly the areas I asked, was responsive to my sensitive spots and when she was done, I had less pain than I had had all day. Truthfully I was sorry the place closed at 9, because I would have been happy to extend my time on the table. I thought all in all, it was a great value. read more

Very relaxing environment and the massage therapist was very efficient. 10/10 experience I will be back.
