Last time I went massage envy was 2009 and once. I received a gift card for Christmas and now that it is 2024/25 maybe just maybe they have improved..........NOPE. Cancelled my membership due to lack of customer service and quality therapists. They need to prioritize in multitasking around picking up phone calls and helping other clients in house. There was a recent incident in which told me I just needed to cancel. I had tried calling (no exaggeration) generally every couple of hours one day to try and get in touch with them about canceling an appointment due to an abrupt scheduling conflict on my end and could not get in touch with someone. Kept getting voicemails, so left them a a couple of voicemails but never received a phone call back. Finally went in after waiting a week for a return phone call, and actually asked about their phone system. Was told everything was working fine, and so I asked if I could go ahead and call them while we were right in front of each other in person, just in case they weren't aware that the phone system was not working to give them the benefit of the doubt. They needed to know if so. Then, which I proceeded to do, my call came through! So it just proved that they chose to not pick up. Even if they were busy, just to answer the call and ask the customer to be put on hold for a few seconds while they're finishing up whatever they're doing would have been very helpful, kind and professional from a business perspective. I really like this massage envy!! Super friendly staff both front desk and service staff. I got a facial one day with Mia, she was soo good! I got a facial exactly how I want it and right amount of everything, pressure, cleaning, massage and so on. If I could give less then 1 star I would. I'm furious. Not the therapists they really do a good job and I know what I'm talking about. I'm a retired massage therapist and I like What they do. Well, it depends on who you go to see. But I have a different issue. The whole administration side! They should be ashamed on what they do. Especially the manager who is not even talking to me and not calling back or anything. My request to cancel my membership immediately is being ignored and I have more then enough reasons to not set foot in this franchise anymore. I went to the Cedar Park location because I received a $200 gift card from my daughter. The front desk person Omar was seemed to be very nice and didn't push a membership at all. But he told me about how different the member benefits are now (I was a member for a long time years back at exact this location. In fact I had 4 memberships because I received multiple massages per month and facials.) I was very happy with my 90 minutes with Reesa and noticed that I missed my regular massages. Omar was setting up my membership and when asked if I could cancel anytime, he assured me that it is possible. He charged me the member price and I had enough on my gift card left for another 1 hour massage which I booked at home from my computer. He said the gift card balance is on my account and it would be used for the next massage. I was a bit confused why it didn't show me member prices when I booked the second massage at home. But thought it probably overlapped with set up of my account. 2 weeks later my massage was confirmed and I went in. At the front desk I was asked to set up my account again and I was startled to see old information from me on the tablet. I was told that Omar probably made a mistake because he was new. I changed the old information thou I was not happy to see all my personal data from years ago still stored at Massage Envy even I cancelled my membership (even payment information). The massage was just decent that Lissa gave me. I paid the tip in cash and left. At home the next day I wanted to set up my next appointments and I still saw non-member prices. I still booked 3 massages, noticed one date was wrong, tried to cancel the wrong one but had no option to do so online. Added the right date one and called Cedar Park. The front desk was not able to find my booked appointments. They told me I might have to contact guest relations. I emailed guest relations and somehow all was messed up. My new account and my old account. There was a back and forth until service desk at Massage Envy.com cleared out all my account data for the member account online and told me to set up a new online account. I tried and wasn't able because the system didn't send the code I needed to verify my account. Again back and forth via email. Service desk was telling me that it must be on my end that it didn't work. At that point I was done! I called Cedar Park location and told the front desk that I want to cancel immediately because i can't trust Massage Envy with my personal data anymore. She told me that she couldn't make this decision because it was over the 10 day period to cancel. And that the manager would get back to me. I already send 3 email to the location because the manager is not getting back to me. The person on the front desk told me that my data is only available to the Cedar Park location. Untrue. When you go to the corporate website you can request that your data is not being sold to others! BEWARE. If you don't do that they can sell your information. There is also an option that you can have all your data deleted. If they don't have access how can they offer these options? Also, if you go to another location they can get access to your data too. It is all lies. First all the lies from Omar about the cancelation and that my remaining gift card balance would be honored the next time. Well, they didn't. They charged me the full 1 hour, even I had more than $70 remaining. Than the lies about my data from the front desk and the not taking responsibility of the manager. All on top of the incapability of corporate to straighten out my accounts and have me set up a correct new account. They dared to tell me to get a new email to set up a new account. Really? I wish I could contact the owner to let them know what lying and betraying is going on in their franchise. I disputed the charges with my bank and I am thinking about taking legal steps. If you want your data to be secure, including your payment information, stay away. If you want to be respected and not lied to, stay away. They did not cancel my membership. They must be very desperate. But I get why... read more

Achy joints and a sore back brought me here. I received a gift card from my daughter and decided to use it. As soon as I entered the waiting room, I felt immediately relaxed. The soft music and lighting contributed to the tranquil environment. I completed paperwork which emphasized bodily areas that needed work and was greeted by Randy, my massage therapist. We discussed my paperwork, and I was escorted to a room. He thoroughly explained procedure and asked questions. After our discussion, within 2 minutes the massage began. It was amazing. It was 50 minutes in duration and did wonders for my achy joints. After it was over, I was given water and received recommendations regarding future therapies. There was no hard sales pitch or pressure to sign up for a membership. Information was shared and I signed up. I'm looking forward to my next appointment with Randy and highly recommend him. read more

Had a massage with Candice- terrible massage- she spoke about all her issues throughout the entire 60 minutes. She started late- ended early, and only massaged two areas of my body while sitting on a chair. I couldn't wait for it to be over. I feel terrible even writing this. My boyfriend bought me a year memberships for this place- they only have a 5 week booking window, which is completely booked for any decent massage therapist they have- so you are forced to book with the ones that no one wants. It's a terrible system that will eventually drive their business into the ground. You will have a handful of people that believe this business is great and everyone else will see it as awful. Might want to really look in to how this place is being managed. Meanwhile, I will be going to a different massage envy that does not treat new customers poorly. read more

She listens well to what I need and can feel muscles on my body that need special attention due to knots and tension. She works through them and I feel great afterwards! This location gets a 1 star because you can't ever get anyone to answer the phone. My husband goes to this location and sometimes I have to make appointments for him or rearrange them for him. It's terribly annoying to call over and over again and never get anyone to answer. It seems no matter what time I call, it rings forever without anyone picking up or they pick up and I sit on hold for 10+ minutes. Get more front desk staff or something to help with incoming calls. I refuse to go to this location because of the headache of trying to get an appointment. 1 star for pure aggravation. read more

I recently moved to Lago from Houston and have been a long time member of Massage Envy. I was very skeptical of this location due to the low rating on Yelp, but after being on my feet for two days, I was really ready for a massage. I called to make an appointment and it was quick and painless and the person on the phone was very pleasant. I requested a female therapist for my husband and didn't care who I was put with (I'm just not particular when it comes to male or female therapists). We were assigned Kristen and Randy. Again, due to the reviews, I wasn't sure how good it would be, but we were both VERY happy with our 90 minute massages! Randy's pressure was just what I wanted, a good mix of firmer pressure where I needed it and then just relaxing. My husband, who usually says, "it was just ok", said it was one of the better ones he's ever had. So whatever the reasons for the previous bad reviews (seemed to be mostly about the front desk staff?) they seem to be remedied. The staff was friendly and the massages were great! Have gone here twice. Changed masseuses to see if it could get better. Definitely happy with my second trip. Facilities are clean. Front desk team courteous. They do push you to get signed up for one of their programs so that you'll return. Even after already bejng set up for one they continue to ask about other options to add--it's a bit like being mobbed at a resort for a time share. I'd prefer this didn't happen. I've been putting off going to a Massage Envy because I assume that they are more focused on business and money than on health and wellness considering they have a bajillion locations. Sure, they have awesome convenient hours and there's one located down the road from you. And you. Yep, you, too. But $78 for a one-hour massage that doesn't even last a full 60 minutes? Ouch! Maybe I'm a little out of touch with the massage world and that's an average price, who knows. Fortunately, I was able to get the $49 introductory special. Anyone who has never been to Massage Envy can get it! Just make sure you mention it over the phone when you make your appointment - they don't let just anyone give you a massage for that price. I was paired with Camilla, a massage therapist who is very new to the field, but was eager to make sure that my birthday massage was the best. They were running late and she took me in about 15 minutes after my appointment time, but made sure that I received my full... 45 minutes? I don't even know. Regardless, I walked away feeling relaxed, and the migraine I'd had for almost 48 hours before had finally disappeared, something that no amount of Excedrin or Aleve had been able to accomplish. Of course my late appointment meant that everyone had gone home except for one woman who, I felt, was peeved at having to stay late. That is just my impression, though, but I hope Camilla didn't get an ear-full for helping make my birthday awesome. I may go again, but I'll have to either save my pennies or ask for gift certificates for birthdays and holidays. read more

A little history...I love spas! I used to travel worldwide for work. In each place I would try to find the best local spa and check it out during my visit. So it took a while for me to try Massage Envy, but I've been going here for over a year now...and even joined their monthly membership. My massage therapist and the facilities get different reviews. Massage Envy is NOT a spa...you can hear people in the hallway when you're trying to relax. The waiting area is ok, but doesn't exactly set the mood of tranquility. But it's clean so that's always good. For a spa rating, eh (2 star for a spa guru)...don't come here for a "spa day." Save your money and go somewhere nicer. However.... I go back about once a month because I found Laura (5 star) and she's great. My back needs all kinds of work. Laura does therapeutic work on me (lots of trigger point)...I leave there feeling beat up, but after a session with her I can function for a few weeks. She's why I'm a regular. read more

I have been utilizing this location for therapeutic massage for over 2 years now and have been very pleased with all my interactions with the staff. The main reason I have kept my membership is because Theresa is by far one of the best deep tissue massage therapists I have ever encountered. She books pretty far out, but is certainly worth the wait. Even with my hectic schedule, I have been able to book with her 1 to 2 times a month on a pretty consistent schedule. My husband has been a member of Massage Envy for many years and was happy with the service for a while. Lately, they have cancelled our appointments at the last minute, leaving us without any services. I feel this is disrespectful to clients and because this is not in any way our fault, there should have been some recompense for this shoddy practice. Our schedules are very tight and it is not easy to make new appointments when Massage Envy decides to 'close down because of an emergency' or 'the massage therapist is unable to show up'. We will be discontinuing our membership which causes us to lose 12 hours of time that have been accrued. Too bad they don't appreciate their customers. I came in for leg pain that I had been experiencing for a week with no relief. I had hoped that I would get some relief from a massage that my wife surprised me with. In the questionnaire on the iPad, I made notes about the leg pain, and even discussed it with Jay, the masseuse, and was excited that I might get some relief. I had entered the room with Jay at 7:03, the clock on the wall was an hour fast (by the way), we talked till 7:07, I was undressed and lying down at 7:08, and he came in at 7:13. I know all of this because I kept checking the time. I was in a lot of pain, and kept rubbing my own hips and thighs for relief while waiting for him. I would assume he began at about 7:15, and when I got up from the massage, the clock read "9:03" but keep in mind that it was an hour fast, and it was actually 8:03. During the consultation, I told him why I was there, that I had been in tears from pain on Sunday, and that my doctor is trying to figure out where this pain is coming from. Jay mentioned that some of his clients, his daughter, and even he were experiencing pain, too, and that it was just from the weather. He said he would take about a month for my body to acclimate. I realize that Jay is experienced in his field (he mentioned that he had been doing this for 25 years), but I felt dismissed and invalidated in my pain by his comments. I just wanted a good massage on my legs for relief. He even made a mention that this weather has been unexpected because we have had "sh***y" weather the past few years. On his way out the door, I asked if he would still massage my neck area, as that's where I hold stress, and it causes headaches. My thought was that, if I'm getting a massage, then I may as well ask. He said he could do that, too, after mentioning that he would mostly be working on my legs. He had told me, "I may start on your legs...I may END on your legs!" My impression was that the majority of the time would be spent on my legs, and then a couple minutes on my neck/back area. It was the exact opposite. He spent (estimation) about 35 minutes on my back/neck, 10 minutes on my right leg, and about 5 minutes on my left (which is the one that causes me the most pain). He didn't even have time to flip me over. I was on my stomach the whole time. I would have said something, except that, while massaging my shoulders, he mentioned something about, "...Still gotta do the legs." That communicated to me that he was still going to make time for my legs. This is now my second experience with Massage Envy. My last experience was with another masseuse at another location a few years ago, and I thought I would give M.E. another chance; maybe I had a rare bad experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case. In both situations, I filled out a questionnaire about where I experience pain, and need relief, and still the masseuse seemed to ignore those notes; they both seemed to simply do what they wanted with little regard to my need. I have had much better experiences at other massage businesses, and will not be returning to Massage Envy. read more

Purchased by a short, large purchasing agent? Or they got a massive deal on furniture built with the wrong legs? Their massage isn't even an hour of service. It's 50 minutes. Massage envy opted to raise their member's rates from $39-60 without notification. Instead of raising the cost slowly, it's a 50% increase in price. You are going to lose business or your therapist's (who you say this increase was to benefit) will get reduced tips. So I hope, corporate America, you truly are passing on this $20 a month price increase to the ones who are working for it. My employer deferred raises this year. This place is the epitome of take your money & run. Once they get you to sign a contract you will never hear from, or speak to them again. I got an email saying I have 2 massages to use. You know why that is? Because I can't reach anyone to make an appointment. Tried online. I think that's a dummy set up because no one ever responds. Tried to call. It rings, then you hear their hours, then it rings, and you hear what is supposed to sound like the OGM on an answering machine but actually sounds like a person answered and is trying to sound like an answering Machine.
