Our new driveway looks like crap!! Use anyone's else but these guys!! I had really hoped being an…read morein town company they could be trusted... but they can not!!! The driveway has humps and low spots all over... in the winter we have puddles that freeze and are a constant hazard. It looked like this 6 months after getting installed. I specifically requested and paid for additional thickness for the sub base to ensure this would not occur... and also asked for extra thick layer of asphalt. But looking at the pictures you can see that they did neither! I contacted the company multiple times over the past... each time they assured me someone would be by to take a look and fix the issues. But no one ever showed up... they just kept leading me on for years. Well, I am sick of trying to chase them down. I again do not suggest using this company! They do not stand behind their work! They do not seem to care about your contract for specs of the depth of sub base or top layer... and only do the job the cheapest way they can... which does not even last 6months! Wish I could give fewer stars!

One of the best in the business! We hired Ben to repair our stone foundation and stone wall at our…read morerental property on Wallis St. He was prompt, professional and takes pride in his work. We then hired him to install a brick patio at our home in Beverly as well. He arrived on time with his two sons. The boys were as professional as their dad. We have a few other projects we will have him come back to do. This is a gentleman of his word, which is a rare thing these days with most contractors. We highly recommend Ben for any of your masonry work.

I selected Ben The Mason to repair / rebuild the fire brick inside a fireplace and chose him…read morebecause of his experience. Inside the fireplace, grout had all but disappeared on the back / angled wall and several fire bricks were loose. Timeline of events: Sent an email to Ben with pictures and a description of the problem on a Friday at 3:12 PM. He called me at 5:15 PM that evening asking if he could visit to see the job and offer me an estimate, he came by at 5:44 PM, and after reviewing and carefully describing the work needed to repair, he offered his proposal which I accepted. AND the VERY NEXT DAY, a SATURDAY mind you, he and his son arrived at 8:00 AM and the job was completed by 3:00 PM. So literally WITHIN 24 HOURS Ben The Mason had responded to my request, came by to see the job, offered a quote, and did the repairs. The entire experience exceeded my expectations, and I am very impressed with the service and craftsmanship provided by Ben The Mason. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I wish I could recommend Edgar and Sons! He was a nice man!…read more However, after many follow up calls to the owner due to an incomplete job, I was told by his assistant that he was "too busy" to call me back. Ultimately, the job we agreed to with contract was not done to completion, in spite of the assistant's insistence that it was. The owner was not on the job EITHER day and this is important. While the crew came back to attempt to complete the original job ( we appreciated that!), the owner was not there. The result was that the job is currently STILL not what we agreed upon. The owner is not willing to return to finish it. Caveat emptor...just know that if the job is not done according to agreement, you will have trouble reaching the owner and it will not be made right. We really wanted to have a great experience!

I would highly recommend them and will use them again in the future!

He quickly gave us a very reasonable estimate and provided us with lots of info regarding our options and how we could customize it. He worked hard (in humid weather and rain!) and his crew was always polite. The end product is exactly what we wanted. In fact, better than what we expected because he added custom extras like a curved cut-out area where I could plant a garden. We're in love with our new patio. I would recommend him to anyone needing work done on their home and wanting a true professional with extremely reasonable rates.

Please do not hire this company. They start at a reasonable price then find all kinds of things…read morewrong and the price keep going up and up. They pressure you to sign a contract for the work and the work is subpar. It does not meet code or professional workmanship. They sat in my house for couple of hours until i signed despite the fact that i told them i had to check with my attorney and would let them know in the morning. They refused to leave. I should have called the police right then and there. I did contact the police later that week when i saw the results of the job. I also checked with city hall to see if they had pulled a permit as I was told by them that they had the inspector coming next week. This was after they finished the job and wanted payment. Lo and behold city hall said no permit was pulled and no inspection was ordered. Their names are Freddie and Matthew. The work was done by 2 gentlemen who do not speak English. I will be taking legal action on this matter to recoup what i paid since I have to have all the work completely redone and it has comprised the integrity of our 4 season room. I also just recently lost my husband and they preyed on that. Unfortunately, i was scammed. I repeat, do not use them.
