Excel paving went above and beyond my expectations! They were punctual. Actually asked if it was ok to arrive a day early... I was shocked As I expect anything involving construction to run late But Mr Scott Milbury took the initiative to move the process right along There was plenty of help so everything went quick and smooth Barry Milbury gave me a fair price and he was great to deal with It was also nice to see the owners on the job site working with the staff The final coat was laid as soon as time allowed it to be done When I asked for a walkway to the garage no questions asked the job got done Excel is a great company to deal with and they do great work at a fair price There should be no other company worth considering as far as paving goes in my opinion read more

Our new driveway looks like crap!! Use anyone's else but these guys!! I had really hoped being an in town company they could be trusted... but they can not!!! The driveway has humps and low spots all over... in the winter we have puddles that freeze and are a constant hazard. It looked like this 6 months after getting installed. I specifically requested and paid for additional thickness for the sub base to ensure this would not occur... and also asked for extra thick layer of asphalt. But looking at the pictures you can see that they did neither! I contacted the company multiple times over the past... each time they assured me someone would be by to take a look and fix the issues. But no one ever showed up... they just kept leading me on for years. Well, I am sick of trying to chase them down. I again do not suggest using this company! They do not stand behind their work! They do not seem to care about your contract for specs of the depth of sub base or top layer... and only do the job the cheapest way they can... which does not even last 6months! Wish I could give fewer stars! read more

**This rating is on customer service alone, not any work they did for me.** As I cannot speak to their work, I will say that I'm quite displeased with the lack of customer service. I originally called and left a message and someone got back to me right away--3 hours later. He told me he would do a drive-by the following day to see what needed to be done and then email me a quote. I've reached out via text three times as a reminder. I've gotten "I'll check" or "I'll do it soon" 3 times now. Needless to say, I am not thrilled. read more

I dealt with Scott Milbury when he came out to look at my driveway. Told him everything I need and he was extremely knowledgeable with everything. The excel crew showed up leveled and pack a large area of center of my driveway extremely quick. Scott had his crew go above and beyond the spec of the job to have the driveway come out perfect. Without me asking to extend the width of the driveway he marked it out and check to make sure it was good. I highly recommend this company, my driveway came out better than I pictured it. The original spec was just the middle of the driveway, Scott came up with a fair price and idea to overlay over the driveway to have one finished product instead of two sections. I'm happy I chose this company. The crew was extremely fun to watch and see how fast they did my driveway. Excel finished my large driveway in one day. read more

My experience with Excel Paving is not a good one. They had promised that they would properly grade our new driveway, and it was only when they were finished that they informed us they could not grade the driveway as promised. This leaves us with large pools of water when it rains, and many hazardous ice patches all through the winter. Barry then offered a no-charge seal coating as a way of making good on the broken promise. After two years, many calls and emails, and more promises, we still have no seal coating, but a lot of driveway puddles and ice patches. Unfortunately, Barry and company decided it was just easier to leave us as disappointed customers than to honor their commitment. I would be very careful engaging them for any work you may have. read more

Excel did my driveway 15 years ago on a new construction garage. First rainstorms new garage flooded. I called The owner Barry back to look at it, He came out and apologized he said thought it was an easy grade and just did it by eye. He sent someone out to dig up part of the driveway and redo it. Needless to say it looks like hell and still floods. Long story short ended up in small claims court and won. Barry never paid nor did he fix the driveway. Still 15 years later I get to enjoy water in my garage when it rains! Excel likes quantity not quality. read more

Scott, Barry and the entire team at Excel we're a pleasure to work with in competition of our driveway. Fast and quality work from start to finish. And a very friendly crew. I was referred to by two other customers and we will certainly be recommending them to anyone we come across that needs paving done. read more

Just completed paving my driveway in Danvers, MA and it looks great! Barry and Leah were great to work with, rainy weather made scheduling difficult but they were in contact with me on a regular basis for planning purposes. Showed up exactly on the time we planned and job was done on time and on budget, would definitely recommend! read more

Excel resurfaced our driveway last year. At first it seemed like a good job. However, the top layer has deteriorated in several spots up to 1/4" deep. It is not in an area where we turn around and is not due to the light scuffling that can occur on hot days when you turn your wheels without moving. I called them and they said they would stop by and look at it. After several weeks I called them 3 times and left messages without a return call. On the 4th call the owner answered and said he would come by at 10 am. I waited but he never showed. I called again and he said he would be by at 2 pm. He did not show. I called again and he said he would come the next day. He never showed up. This company does not stand by their work and are unprofessional. Once they have your money you have no leverage. read more

I had Excel pave my driveway this summer. Pricing was fair, service was excellent with high quality results. Would use them again.

We recommend using Excel for your paving project without reservation. Excel excavated and repaved our 350' driveway that was in extremely poor condition in 2 days. We selected Excel on the recommendation of a relative who was pleased with the commercial parking lot installed for his restaurant. The owner Barry and his employees were exceptionally professional. They began on the day promised and completed as scheduled. Barry returned calls in a reasonable amount of time previous to beginning the work and immediately when work began. During the process the crew was careful to make sure rock and asphalt did not stray from the driveway's footprint, they employed safety equipment, parked their equipment in a way that caused minimum disruption to neighbors, and were amazing quiet given the heavy equipment used. The charge was competitive with the 3 bids we received. Barry, the owner, was present on the 2nd day when the driveway was completed to direct the crew and make a final inspection. We have had a significant amount of work done on our property including a septic leaching field, replacement of a retaining wall, removal of multiple large trees and we are "picky"customers. Excel stands out above other contractors for their care in cleanup, ability to avoid disturbing the landscape, use of safety equipment and techniques to protect their employees, and attention to creating an esthetically pleasing result. read more
