Requested estimates from a few different paving companies to extend the driveway and repave the +20 year old driveway. A Plus Paving was immediately responsive, coming out that Sunday (4/12) to give me an estimate. He was super detailed in explaining what his team would do and when he'd be able to come out to do the job. He also provided a written estimate detailing work to be done, which was useful for comparative purposes. Had to wait days to get an estimate from the other paving companies and not all provided written estimates, even upon request. After having all estimates and knowing that A Plus Paving was the company that I wanted to work with, I called to see if he'd work with me on the price and we agreed on a price. I was very happy with the price. A Plus Paving came out yesterday (4/29), aligned with the time he stated when he gave me the estimate. We recently had a depression form in our private paved roadway. Small job, typically nobody's interested but Richard came right over, gave us a quote on the spot. We knew it was a fill in job, being so small but Richard kept in contact and he and his crew showed up pretty soon thereafter. The crew was knowledgeable, every one had their specific job to do and before you knew it the old asphalt was cut and removed. There was a depression in the gravel but the guys quickly leveled it off, compacted it and the new paving went in. They had to hand form a section of asphalt curb and it looks factory made. The whole job, from start to finish went better than I ever anticipated. I was really nervous about getting this done right but Richard, his son and the whole crew made it happen, I will definitely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone who has a paving job, large or small to use them. read more

NEW UPDATE /OCTOBER 12 Since my previous review on 10/8, A Plus Paving sent their crew to correct the problems with the landscaping and the filling in of the needed asphalt. The crew did an effective fix by backfilling both sides of the driveway with good loam and thoroughly raking it into the lawn. Their cleanup was neat and thorough. We got three quotes for resurfacing our driveway. A Plus came in under budget which made us think how the other companies were totally going to screw us. You don't have to take my word for it. Before you use this company please email me and I will allow you to come to my house and look at the garbage work this company did to my driveway. Resurfaced a portion and added new section. It is uneven cracking, sinking and crumbling, and all that started within the first three months. Its only getting worse and las been little over a year. These people repeatedly lied to my wife and I with promises to come and fix the driveway. We had received 2 Quotes from another paving contractors who wanted to remove our solid 4 inch base and charge us 3 times the Amount which was not needed., and Richard recommended to resurface it since was a clean straight driveway with some cracks nothing major. A worker from A Plus Paving came to my door and said that they were doing a job for a neighbor and had some left over asphalt and would give me a great deal on repaving my driveway. They left a mess along the edges of my driveway and I have called them asking to fix the mess that they made and nobody calls me back. A Plus Paving is aptly named. After getting a few estimates we chose A Plus Paving to repave our long driveway which, after many years, was in very poor condition. Their response was prompt, they were receptive to our questions and the paving took only one day. We had a beautifully repaved driveway. A state inspector, due to the angle of runoff at the driveway/state road, found that it did not meet the standards set. We called A Plus Paving. We received an immediate call back and were reassured they would be back the next day. Good to their word, they returned and repaved the end as required in a curve where water/ice may accumulate. My driveway was very old and a distraction which made the grounds of my house look run down. It had pot holes and a steep uneven slope at the entry from the street. The previous owner established an exit over the lawn which created an exit out to the adjoining street. The house is on a corner lot. A Plus Paving of Salem did a driveway for a close and trusted friend who gave a high recommendation for the company. I contacted Rich who came to the house to provide a free estimate. I explained I wanted the slope corrected, the entire driveway to be level and the turnout to the adjoining street to be paved. Our driveway was paved last year and I gave it a year to settle before judging the finished product. We have loose gravel, cracking, and the edging is breaking away in a few spots. The joints where it meets parts of the old driveway are a nightmare and uneven. The slopes are angled incorrectly and drainage has been affected. I attempted to communicate with customer service but never heard back from them. I will say they did not conduct the sub-grade structure but apparently had no problem with working on top of it. Add insult to the matter they used a video of our driveway being completed on their website as proof of their work. I wanted to make sure I wasn't being over critical of the driveway as a whole so I had an engineer assess and evaluate the work. He stated the asphalt part of the driveway was done poorly and needed to be fixed I also supplied a case of beverages for the workers and they thanked me by strewing the empty bottles all over my property. I used A plus paving in April of 2014 and have never been so disappointed in the work that was performed. they did not do anything they said they were going to do. I showed them where i wanted the pavement and they dumped a load of rough stone and stone dust telling me this was better then pavement, and dumped it in the wrong place covering my existing pavement that i wanted. when i showed them the walkway they covered and wanted it off, they used a bobcat trying to get it up but destroyed the walkway. there is more, but i am going to stop here and hope no one else gets taken the way we were. I realize we are just an elderly couple but we did think they were a reputable company when we hired them. be on guard when you deal with this company. read more
