This is an email I sent to customer support: "We recently purchased an area rug for $249.99 that was advertised as 8ft x 10ft. I have attached a photo that we took when were deciding on which rug to buy which shows this. When we got it home and unpacked it there was a label attached that told us the rug's actual size was 7ft 10in x 8ft 11in. I have attached a photo of this label as well. We are extremely disappointed to have paid $250 for a product that is not at all what we expected. We had measured our living room and wanted an 8ft x 10ft rug for the space. We still really like the rug and do not wish to return it, but are not at all pleased with this case of false advertising. We felt it important to bring this matter to your attention and hope you will consider making some changes in your stores to avoid any more upset customers. As it is, we are not sure we can trust At Home for any future purchases and would advise others of the same." The response I got was: "Hi Stewart, Thanks for contacting us! Our rug sizes are approximate measurements and actual rug sizes may vary depending on the country of origin and the manufacturing technique. If the rug you purchased isn't quite the right size, you're welcome to return it. Here's a link to our return policy: https://help.athome.com/hc/en-us/articles/203774695-What-is-your-return-policy- Please provide a copy of your receipt to better assist you. Thank you so much. Best, Tina At Home Customer Care" So they not only make no apologies for the false advertising (or read the emails customers send them properly), but instead defend it. So I figured I needed to let people know about this, and warn you that, like us, you'd be well advised to avoid At Home.

Athome is one of the best stores I know, and love shopping here, HOWEVER today a LEAD called ANGIE,…read morewas super RUDE to me, at first she didn't want to tell me her name, then she started throwing the F word around MULTIPLE TIMES as if I was in the ghettoest store ever. I went thinking they closed at 11, and in reality they closed at 10, she came to me as I was already walking up to the front and started harassing me that THEY were CLOSED. I said okay, and kept on walking so then she said you have 3 minutes, so I looked at my phone and said actually it's 4 minutes to 10, and she said with her back towards me because she was leaving " you're not gonna dictate at what time the store closes" which I never said anything regarding at what time they close. Something so simple yet she made it a HUGE deal, and put words in my mouth. I told her she shouldn't be doing customer service with that attitude and she told me because of people like me it was that she hated it. Anyways it's just so sad to see such an amazing store with horrible employees.

Bait and Switch I reached out to BBQ Rescue to have my Weber…read moreIgniter replaced. Being a fairly capable person, I diagnosed the problem after ruling out everything else. They sent an email estimate before evaluating my grill. $125. I thought it was unusual to receive an estimate sight unseen. I agreed to this amount and was led to believe that after doing their own assessment, they would fix the issue (replace the igniter). No. The $125 is just the "House Call" during which they diagnosed that I need a new igniter. Of course they don't bring parts and don't come prepared to do the work. They offer to return with parts and perform a 3 hour surgery. It's not like an igniter kit is so rare! I almost never submit reviews. But my experience was not positive at all. It's a shame BBQ Rescue had to go to such lengths to avoid my business, waste my time, and take my money.

Steve and his team replaced our tired old gas log fireplace with a new, beautiful, full-enclosure gas fireplace. From the beginning of the project until the end, Steve and his team were friendly, courteous, prompt to reply, and genuinely took pride in their work. Steve made sure that at the end of the project, he was there to ensure that the inspection passed without any issues. He also made sure that we, as the customers, had an opportunity to ask any questions we had about the operation of the fireplace insert. Steve and his team also refreshed our 20+ year old gas lantern in the front yard, replacing the old mantle system with a beautiful gas flame and refinishing it from top to bottom. We could not recommend Steve the Fireplace Guy more highly. You will not regret selecting Steve over the competition.

They are professional, punctual, knowledgeable and do good quality work. I very much respect the…read moretechnician, but the problem appears to lie with the company's practices and fees. The main problem and downside is that they are very expensive and overcharge. Despite the Yelp page saying that the company provides a "free estimate", I was quoted $49 for the technician to travel. In addition, if I had not chosen to go ahead with the repair, the company would have charged me an additional $150 diagnostic fee. Essentially, despite the yelp profile stating a "free estimate", it will cost you closer to $200 to get a quote. I see this as false advertisement. In addition, when the technician concluded that the problem was the capacitor, I received a final quote of $600. When I googled the price of the same capacitor online, the price range was in between 75$ - 150$. Essentially, they are charging a premium of at least $450 per replacement for a single part (capacitor). Despite their professionalism and quality work, I do not recommend this company for the reasons stated above. If price is not a concern for you, and you would rather pay twice the market value for a job then you should definitely choose them. EDIT: I actually googled the price of a capacitor and offered to buy my own. I was told that by the technician that if I purchased my own capacitor that the company would not install it. In conclusion, they did not address any of my concerns. Unfortunately, after reading the other bad reviews, there seems to be a consistent pattern of discrepancies between what they tell customers and what they instruct technicians to say on site. Making an honest living is so much more rewarding than making it dishonest living.

I couldn't be happier with my large roof mounted residential solar array installed by Gettysburg…read moreStove and Solar. Their lead techs and installers, Bill and Tory, were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Jessica, my contact person, was always quick to get back to me with any questions I had. Their quoted price was comparable to the lowest prices quoted on residential solar installations per watt or kWh anywhere in the US according to my research online. Gettysburg Solar allowed me to do my own research and choose the exact brand and model of both solar panels and inverters that I wanted. This was after providing me their quote. They put no restrictions on my panel and inverter choices. I went with very well regarded panels and top of the line inverters. This did not affect my quoted price! My inverters (Sunny Boy 6.0) have a unique feature that allows a 110v AC outlet to be wired directly from each inverter. This outlet can be used to power lights, charge phones, run computers, etc during a power outage. In my arrangement, each inverters AC outlet can provide up to 2000 watts of power when the sun is shining and the grid is down. Adding these additional outlets to each inverter (4 total) required quite a bit of additional work and materials. This wasn't something that was included in my original quote either, yet Gettysburg Solar happily installed these additional features at no extra cost. Bill and Tory made several additional trips to my house to make adjustments to the set-up of these outlets and to make sure everything was functioning as intended. These additional trips were all on their own accord, not at my prompting. All of the work performed was top notch and tidy. I've owned my own businesses for over 20 years, and I've hired many contractors for many projects. Only a few have come as close to delivering as positive of an experience that Gettysburg Stove and Solar delivered. At every turn, the entire crew from Gettysburg Solar would go the additional mile to deliver even more than they promised. I contracted this project late in the year 2017. To insure I would be able to apply for the 30% Federal tax credit on solar installations on my 2017 taxes, Gettysburg Solar said they were confident they could have the system installed and ready to go before December 31st, 2017. I was a bit skeptical given the holidays and unpredictable winter weather, but sure enough, the system was up and ready at the end of December. So if you are thinking solar, there has never been a better time and I highly recommend giving Gettysburg Stove and Solar a call.
