I finally tried Maya's Latin Kitchen and it absolutely lived up to the hype. I ordered the birria…read moretacos, birria quesadilla, and birria empanadas, along with their fresh guac and homemade chips -- every single thing was packed with flavor and tasted fresh and homemade. To top it off, I tried the churros (and they give you plenty!) plus the churro cheesecake. Let's just say... it was so good I drove there thinking it was a dine-in restaurant, only to find out it's takeout only -- and honestly, it was still 100% worth the trip. Probably the best Latin food in the area, hands down. The portions, flavor, and quality were all amazing. Definitely will be a frequent dasher .

He was listing for key items on the menu but didnt understand anything else. So I called back twice. No answer. I decided to call from my other phone and someone immediately picked up. I asked if there was someone available who spoke English so I could place my order, I then started speaking Spanish and I was hung up on again. I called back 8 times and no one answered. I would never spend my money at a restaurant that gets upset with me because they dont speak English. I live out of the country and have to speak a foreign language everyday, so I was willing to speak Spanish to try to communicate. But hanging up on me and then refusing to answer is absolutely unacceptable for any reason. A restaurant should be welcoming business and being accommodating to guests to help them place their order. Whoever answer the phone was very rude. I hope it wasn't the owner because that is NOT how businesses should be ran. A complete disappointment of an establishment. Ill take my $200 order to another restaurant that respects people, especially ones who dont speak Spanish right away.

Di Gennaro was about 10 minutes from me and the photos looked great so I decided to try. I will definitely be returning! The customer service was great and the food tasted amazing. The ham & cheese bread roll was so good I almost went back to get a few more. The strawberry pastry was also amazing. Very affordable as well! I've found my new favorite bakery!

I ordered a variety box of: +a Vigilante - with cream, guava, and coconut +a beef empanada +a chicken empanada +a ham, cheese, and pineapple pastry +a Square with sliced green apples I did order a Guava croissant, but didn't receive it in the box; not sure if they charged me for it, since I didn't ask for one (user error!). I also noticed that we didn't receive any sauces (ie, chimichurri) for the empanadas. Not sure if I caught them off-guard or something! The pastries themselves tasted fresh and not too sweet, and I feel like the best time to go is when they're open first thing in the morning; I also feel that their items do sell out quickly. Staff were super friendly, welcoming, and kind. There were plenty of seating inside, and ample parking in this strip plaza lot. +missing items T___T +friendly service! +plenty of parking

The pulled pork had no flavor at all until you added the hot sauce that was on the table. If you don't want hot sauce, you just get to eat plain white bread pulled pork. (The hot sauce was maybe the best thing on the table besides the black beans...) Every single damn dish was covered in chopped sweet peppers; completely unnecessary and what are they trying to hide? Couldn't even taste the empanadillas because they had so much crema all over them...that should be on the side so we could actually taste the food . The steak was OK (not Cuban in any recognizable way) but the very smallest portion possible....for a "special" that we paid extra for, we expected it to be special in some way. And the platanos...THE PLATANOS...super over-fried and dry as a bone with no flavor, no salt, no nothing. We left a huge dish of them on the table. The key lime tart barely had any lime flavor. The flan was lumpy! The "tres leches" cake is just plain yellow sheet cake with simple marshmallow frosting. WTAF We drove an hour each way and promised guests great Cuban food, only to be disappointed and, frankly, super embarrassed.

Free off street parking is plentiful. There is good signage. It's now a take out only establishment since Covid. Two table are available for outdoor seating. Most customers took their orders and walked away. I visited them on a Sunday afternoon just after St. John's let out. It's just one block away and the church Patrick Henry gave a speech. There were a lot of church goers enjoying the business. Proper has a menu in the window to guide customers on choices of savory, or sweet. I wanted one of each. The man at the window was great in providing recommendations. I ordered the steak and cheese as well as the Banoffee. The preparation is already done and the man with assistant moved quickly to complete my order. I enjoyed my treats at their outdoor table and also enjoyed conversation with locals. I started with the steak & cheese which was loaded with meat and cheese. DELICIOUS! Then onto the Banoffee which smelled heavenly of cocoa. Another home run! I love bananas and if you do too this will be enjoyable. So glad I found them open on my visit. There hours are very good, but I have missed them in the Summer before on vacation. Just go, no brainer.
