Two words: blown away! We're always on the hunt for good Thai food and this place has to be the best we've had in the last year. We got the chicken satay, which came with a yummy peanut sauce, cucumber and onion sauce, and pieces of toast! For entrees we split the eggplant tofu basil (which comes with a side of rice), and chicken pad see ew. The flavors were all bomb and tasted so fresh! Great! We grabbed some take out from Marwin and had the Pad Thai and Ginger Sauce with Shrimp. Having spent a lot of time in Thailand I consider myself pretty well versed in Thai food and this was great! No complaints on any of the items we got and service between ordering and pickup was extremely quick. The restaurant is very small but seemed like a great place for a casual bite. Old, gross, oily Got takeout (lunch) about a week ago. One order was vegan and the other was vegetarian. Upon picking up the food, we asked to ensure that the vegan contained no fish sauce or oyster sauce. The guy there was so annoyed and irked that we could have the audacity to ask that and he said "we don't use that here" (I call BS - so a Thai restaurant does not use fish sauce nor oyster sauce). Seriously dude? I'd say he would have a leg to stand on if the food was any good. It tasted old/semi-spoiled, like a sour taste to the tofu and rice, and noodles, and some was a bit slimy. We were starving but after a couple of bites we had to discard the food. Shame on them! Avoid at all cost. How freaking hard can it be to follow heath protocols. I bet $10 they are on their way to a B or "pending " grade from the health department. read more

I always order the same thing at this restaurant for takeout - green curry with duck. I always order the duck on the side because if you don't, it comes in the sauce and it all soggy and gross. I have been a regular customer for years and tonight, after a really bad day, I forgot to ask for the duck on the side. I asked them to remake it and they refused. I got home, disappointed, and had to fish out the duck, which was all soggy and gross out of the sauce and put it in the oven to try to revive it. It is a huge disappointment that being a regular customer for years and ordering the same thing, that they could not remake it. AS a catering manager, I would always put the customer first. Clearly they don't care about their regular customers. If you order anything that says crispy for takeout or delivery, make sure to ask for whatever is supposed to be crispy on the side, otherwise it will be soggy. The restaurant os too small to eat there will tons of delivery people coming through so it is not enjoyable to eat there. The food is decent if you order it right. If the service was better and they offered to help me I would have given more stars. read more

Stopped by Marwin Thai for lunch and it was so good! Per other people's recs, we got the curry puffs to start and they were delicious. The pastry was so flaky and crispy and the filling was bursting with flavor. I got a small Tom Kha soup with chicken and it was a bowl of creamy, coconuty and savory goodness. My partner got the fried chicken curry and the portion was huge and flavoring was really good as well! Everything was so flavorful. Service was fast and attentive. It's a fairly small space so get there early! There was a few people who they couldn't seat because it was already full. That said, I'd highly recommend coming here if you're in the area! read more

Came here for lunch with a friend on a week day. Small & cosy place serving good, Thai food. Servings are big, they dont skimp on the meat either. tasted fresh & bursting with flavor. This restaurant is a bit tight in the seating, and you can't host a large group here, or rather I don't advise it. It's more for small parties - 4 people or less. It was quite interesting how there was only one person who was serving, bussing, answering the phones, etc.... I give her mad props. She had a cap on that said, "Call me baby!". That was quite hilarious. I was wondering why ppl were calling her baby. On to the food items that were ordered, the duck wraps, which sounded unique and tasted it too. It supposedly had the chefs sauce in it, but I needed hot sauce with it as well. The pan seared roti wrapping was a good touch. I also got the seafood noodle dish. Marwin Thai is a nice little restaurant in midtown east. The Roti Masamman is good, but you only get 4 pieces of a flat Roti bread for a whole cup of curry (we asked for extra bread). I ordered the Papaya Pad Thai with chicken - really interesting that they use papaya instead of noodles, I have never seen a restaurant do this before (and a great low-carb option). My friend got the beef stew, which comes with rice on the side. Seating inside the restaurant is a bit small but cozy, about 5 tables or so. We ordered the Thai iced tea, Thai iced coffee, and lychee lemonade. I had the lychee lemonade and it was refreshing, more hints of lemonade than lychee. Our order of the creamy Tom yum soup came in and it was the bet Tom yum soup I've ever had. It had shrimp, mussels, and other seafood in an aromatic soup which was absolutely delicious! We also ordered the noble duck curry which came with white rice and we ordered vegetable basil rice also. The basil rice was very delicious and the duck I would say was pretty good. It looked beautiful and the curry was tasty. It was interesting how they incorporated lychee. The duck was cooked well, but perhaps I'm not the biggest fan or duck so I can't say too much but it was a tasty dish. This place is a 5 for hospitality, soup, and ambiance. The sauce they were in was so rich and flavorful. 10/10 Roadside noodle: we loved all the individual elements of this dish, which to our surprise was a soup. However the broth was a little too sweet. That took away only slightly from the perfectly seared pork belly. 9/10 Mango sticky rice: 9/10. I take advantage of this whenever a place has it. Mango was so fresh and perfectly ripe. The Calamari could've been a little more crisp. My entrée of choice was pretty basic, I went for their Classic Pad Thai and I added shrimp. My dish was what I expected for Pad Thai. My friend ordered the Papaya Pad Thai and she felt it was way on the sweet. I wasn't a huge fan of the mojito, it was a little artificial imo, almost perfume like. I'm glad there are more thai places opening up in the area but I am very disappointed in this as an option. We ordered Minced Chicken Basil and Papaya salad via seamless and noted "thai spicy" on the notes. - The basil chicken was promising with a well fried runny egg on top. However, after a few bites looking for some heat, I found absolutely none. - The papaya salad did have some heat, but definitely not what I would consider spicy. It was also... bitter in a way that just didn't taste right. I called in to ask if they maybe missed the note but they stated that "thai spicy" here means for a "western palate" and I need to put the words "extra spicy" in the future. I'd rather just choose another option, even if it means going a bit north. The prices here are also higher than others in the area so definitely not worth it. read more
