This particular store in North Huntingdon also has a Sephora and an Amazon returns center. When I shopped in this store, I liked the selection of merchandise, and I thought that the prices were low, such as $13 for a tank top, to moderate, such as $30 for a tank top and $42 for a sundress. I picked out a pair of Calvin Klein underwear that were on clearance and two dog toys that were on sale. I used the self-checkout. With tax and after redeeming $10 of Kohl's Cash, I paid only $23 for the entire purchase. These three items were a very high quality, and I feel happy that I got a very good deal on them.

Now, every time I go I feel like I'm in a seconds store that is just a chaotic, disorganized mess. They typically only have one set of registers open, so there are often lines. Signage in the store is often incorrect (sale prices listed for items that aren't on sale, items in the wrong place etc). There are price checkers throughout the store but those often aren't working either. Clothes seem to be haphazardly thrown together on racks. I want to be able to quickly find something in my size, not feel like I'm on a poorly mapped out treasure hunt. Prices seemed to have increased dramatically with a lower selection and lackluster service. They do occasionally have some good sales, but you really have to be diligent to see if what you think is on sale actually is on sale. It isn't the worst place to shop, but I wish they'd fix some of these issues and be more like it was before.

Why do I always find myself in a women's clothing store? How is this always possibly. Oh, it…read moremight be because I have sisters and friends and I just mindlessly follow when we are out. Obviously I did not buy anything while I was in here, but I did look around and take notice. Obviously you know that this is a women's clothing store. It is also a store that focuses on plus sizes. They carry all types of clothing that a lady might be looking for. I mean everything, even intimates. This place kind of reminded me of a mixture of Maurice's and Frederick's of Hollywood (is that even a business anymore?). It is great to see a business like this. One that is focused more on the clientele than it is on pushing out subpar items for purchase. Everything looked like it was quality made. The employees look as if they enjoy what they do as well.

I accepted the offer and was then expecting to receive a start date. When I didn't receive one, I had to reach out myself to ask about my start date. During that conversation, I was told that the Keyholder position was no longer what they intended to offer me and that I would instead be placed in a Sales Associate position. I was also told that the District Manager would reach out to me to explain the situation and why the position had changed. However, I never received a call or any further communication from the District Manager. This last-minute change felt misleading and unprofessional. I accepted an offer for a Keyholder position based on my experience and qualifications, only to have the position changed afterward without any clear explanation or follow-up. The lack of communication made the situation even more frustrating and gave me the impression that my experience and qualifications weren't being taken seriously. Transparency, consistency, and communication are important in any workplace, especially during the hiring process. Candidates deserve to know what position they are actually being hired for and should not have to repeatedly reach out for basic information after accepting an offer. I was genuinely interested in growing with Torrid, but this experience left me questioning how employees and potential employees are valued and communicated with. I hope Torrid takes this feedback seriously and improves its hiring practices to be more upfront, consistent, and respectful of candidates' time and experience.
