In dining service was quick and friendly. Chicken bbq was good and tender, dark meat. Pasta salad wasn't great. Mac and cheese was boxed creamy stuff. Banana pudding was very good! And made every morning. Overall for me it was a 2.5.

Bill Ellis. IYKYK The atmosphere isn't even close. It's very much like a standard fast food outlet, but who comes here for atmosphere? The fried chicken is the star. Fresh, crispy, and delicious, this chicken might even rival Parker's. My only complaint is that I don't think I've ever seen such small chicken parts. The bbq is pretty good, not the best but very far from the worst. Sides are the usual choices. Slaw and boiled potatoes are standard, stew was damn good, yams taste like dessert which is exactly as it should be, and collards left something to be desired. You get a choice between hush puppies and ENC corn sticks, which I appreciate as I've never cared for corn sticks, but the puppies would have been a lot better if they were fresher. I brought home a container of chicken pastry so we'll see how that goes. Next time - and there will be a next time - I'm getting the fried liver and gizzards. Any place that serves fried livers owns a piece of my heart (probably the part that the cardiologist tends to). The parking lot is small but there's overflow parking adjacent. Service is modified table service, order at the counter and your food is brought to your table. Remember two things: Fried chicken Brunswick stew

    Banana Pudding

I was recommended this place based on my love for Bill Ellis food. This place was opened by his son, so you know the food is going to be about the same - right? First off, the location is a bit hard to navigate as the there is very little parking, the line is around the building, and you have to make sure you are going to right direction to enter. I was there during a busy timeframe - so that was a little overwhelming to deal with for a first time. However, I give it to them they have a system in place where you the staff is friendly and get you in and out as fast as possible. Within the drive-thru (how I ordered) they came to the car took the order via a pad, you drive up to another window and pay, then you go to the last window to get your food. A rule of thumb, if you forget something - THEY WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO ADD IT ON. I saw this message all over the building. They stated it causes issues, which I can understand. So, keep that in mind. If you want something additional get back in line or walk in and order it. For the amount of food we got, the pricing was very good! However, I do have some elements of what we got that I wouldn't go back for and there are somethings I would! What would I go back for? The chicken - juicy and fresh! The chew bread - amazingly good - want some now. The liver - cooked good, made to order with great flavor (need to ask for additional gravy next time). The banana pudding - very very very rich, but good. What I wouldn't go back for? Yams - where is the seasoning? Green beans - where is the seasoning? Slaw - celery seeds - yuck! Mac and cheese - not horrible but nah you can keep it. The location inside looked to be clean and well lit. We might go back to try some of the other items on the menu. Not something I would run back - just a if I am in the area and have a taste for (fill in the blank) I will stop here.

I've eaten here plenty of times. Customer service is always excellent. This time, my food wasn't as good. The chicken & dumplings weren't good. I had to add seasoning salt. The sweet potatoes were okay. I think they switched cooks. Very disappointed. And I drove 53 miles. I should have ordered the fried chicken. Drive thru is always long BUT it moves fast. The inside does as well.

Great NC BBQ. They have a great drive thru. Prices are amazing. Great menu and lots to choose from. Come here and try them out.

You walk in and the young HS or College Busboys/waiters are lined up waiting to assist. It has to be one of the most nostalgic things gs I've seen in a long time. The sweet tea is southern pucker sweet & perfect!! There's malt vinegar on the table for collards, and the NC vinegar based BBQ sauce was very good. However, the chopped pork BBQ did t really need any help, it was just as good on its own and not mushy. I even enjoyed the yellow coleslaw, it's a mustard & vinegar base and tasty. The Brunswick stew could have been heat hotter, but it had a decent taste with plenty of meat & veggies. I would definitely drive out of my way again to share Parker's with my 15yr old who missed this road trip.

Crowded at lunch time but we quickly got a table. The crowd was diverse, tending to be a bit older. 2.Pitcher of tea delivered quickly and left on table. 3 The food: chopped barbecue served eastern NC style. Very good with lots of vinegar to add on the table; epic corn sticks and slightly sweetened hush puppies for the table; green beans served southern style just like grandma made them; mustard Cole slaw, a bit too sweet but yummy and Mac and cheese. We inhaled it. 4. Great prices ; $10 for a plate. 5. And key to a great bbq restaurant: the ribbons of the champion hogs they, ah, bought for dinner. Not oversized portions, which is great. Clean and a great small town stop.

The owners are both Cancer Survivors and local clergy. When it comes to a nice southern meal on a Sunday you can bet that they will get the job done. They have TURKEY BBQ, let's me honey we all need to eat a little bit healthier. This restaurant gives you the chance to eat good and live longer. My only complaint is that sometimes items will run out. In time I believe they will have a system to eke it's that or the communist will come in and support stronger so they that will have to urgency to cook more. Atmosphere : Jazz Music, Praise and Worship, Holiday tunes galore. This place is a nice, chill low key, quite place to enjoy your meal without the burden of being overcrowded or uncomfortable. Adding a little more color and personality on the inside and outside will make this place a staple and will show the to compete with the bbq giants of Eastern NC. Service : When they first opened I will admit the wait time to actually have your food was not impressive. Since then, they have a new system and have been getting orders out in a hurry. They are always attentive to FREE refills and depending on how nice you smile they might even throw in a couple of extra hushpuppies. The best service in Wilson County by far. There team makes you feel right at home Cleanliness : The restaurant is the cleanest in the 252 when compared to other bbq spots. Last I checked they were at 98. There are two big name bbq spots in Wilson and neither of them have above and 88 score so let that sink in. All in all if you love to support local and starter business then throw your support behind this one! Mcdonald and Bojangles have had enough of your dollars now it's time to invest back into the community! EAT AT BOOGIES

All of the entrees were great. My favorite had to be the fresh cut and fried potato slices- whatever you order, don't miss those! It's a banquet hall and catering business but it does a very brisk brunch business and there were three groups there who were celebrating special occasions, so it can accommodate groups of various sizes pretty easily.
