    Baked beans

Assuming New South BBQ has rebranded themselves to The Brisket Bar, this review is for the Brisket Bar. I had the fried chicken, green beans and baked beans. The baked beans were delicious! Bits of kielbasa and peppers, so flavorful! The fried chicken was not seasoned (I added salt) but cooked to crispy and juicy perfection. My husband had ribs and brisket and both were delicious. The hush puppies were very good. Others complained of the pricing (the meals were fairly priced) and the fact you were given plastic utensils (no problem for us). Our server, Chris was very attentive, efficient and polite. The atmosphere was basic. If I could make a few suggestions: A pat of butter served with the roll please No bbq sauce on the table, maybe ask your guests if they'd like some. We will definitely be back!

Great potential for this hole in the wall establishment. Very bare bones in all ways except pricing structure. Upon arriving there was one table of 4 people in the restaurant and no one else in sight. After washing my hands in their clean but tight restroom, a man was behind the bar and told me I could sit where I wanted. Another couple had come in while I seated myself. The man very loudly proclaimed his disbelief at the pricing on the menu. They proceeded to leave exclaiming their bewilderment of how a sandwich was $16. Initially, I laughed it off. Then I placed my order thinking it was a bit on the steep side, but surely they must have big portions. My enthusiasm was quickly quelled when I had a black takeout box placed in front of me on my table. Plastic utensils in plastic with one salt and one pepper to enjoy for my dine in experience. Ever the optimist, I decided to think of it as not having to worry about asking for a to go contain to pack up my leftovers. They just eliminated the need to do dishes for themselves. My sweet tea was in the size of a NYC small, again in a to go container. Oh did I mention the price tag for my brisket and BBQ combo meal with potato salad and baked beans with a cold dinner roll? $24 and the child size tea an additional $2.50. So a $35 meal with tax and tip The baked beans were the star of the meal! Best I have ever had! Hands down amazing! Potato salad tasted like the deli selection at Food Lion. Brisket was tender but nothing to write home about, and there was no Pulled Pork in my Brisket/Pulled Pork Combo! It was all fatty brisket with a twangy sauce that was ok. Thank heaven for the baked beans! It made the whole takeout styled meal in a dine in experience at least salvageable. I can see myself popping by to pick up a large baked bean in the future to add to a meal from somewhere else. However, I can say with 100% certainty today was the first and LAST time I will ever make New South BBQ my entire dining experience. They should have stayed as a food truck. Cause they still act like one. Again .... Great baked beans! Life changing! Every other part of the experience was sub par at best. Sad!

Server was very attentive and food was delicious! Would definitely come back to this establishment

Place is NOT open as told to us by locals after we made an hour + trip. Place should be removed if not open.

You walk in and the young HS or College Busboys/waiters are lined up waiting to assist. It has to be one of the most nostalgic things gs I've seen in a long time. The sweet tea is southern pucker sweet & perfect!! There's malt vinegar on the table for collards, and the NC vinegar based BBQ sauce was very good. However, the chopped pork BBQ did t really need any help, it was just as good on its own and not mushy. I even enjoyed the yellow coleslaw, it's a mustard & vinegar base and tasty. The Brunswick stew could have been heat hotter, but it had a decent taste with plenty of meat & veggies. I would definitely drive out of my way again to share Parker's with my 15yr old who missed this road trip.

What a great place for lunch if you happen to be in eastern NC. Cash only!!…read more 1. Friendly waiters in uniforms and paper hats greet you into a classic small town seating area. Crowded at lunch time but we quickly got a table. The crowd was diverse, tending to be a bit older. 2.Pitcher of tea delivered quickly and left on table. 3 The food: chopped barbecue served eastern NC style. Very good with lots of vinegar to add on the table; epic corn sticks and slightly sweetened hush puppies for the table; green beans served southern style just like grandma made them; mustard Cole slaw, a bit too sweet but yummy and Mac and cheese. We inhaled it. 4. Great prices ; $10 for a plate. 5. And key to a great bbq restaurant: the ribbons of the champion hogs they, ah, bought for dinner. Not oversized portions, which is great. Clean and a great small town stop.

DISCLAIMER : I literally helped build the place…read more Food: This is my go to every Sunday after church. One reason is because I truly believe in supporting local businesses. The owners are both Cancer Survivors and local clergy. When it comes to a nice southern meal on a Sunday you can bet that they will get the job done. They have TURKEY BBQ, let's me honey we all need to eat a little bit healthier. This restaurant gives you the chance to eat good and live longer. My only complaint is that sometimes items will run out. In time I believe they will have a system to eke it's that or the communist will come in and support stronger so they that will have to urgency to cook more. Atmosphere : Jazz Music, Praise and Worship, Holiday tunes galore. This place is a nice, chill low key, quite place to enjoy your meal without the burden of being overcrowded or uncomfortable. Adding a little more color and personality on the inside and outside will make this place a staple and will show the to compete with the bbq giants of Eastern NC. Service : When they first opened I will admit the wait time to actually have your food was not impressive. Since then, they have a new system and have been getting orders out in a hurry. They are always attentive to FREE refills and depending on how nice you smile they might even throw in a couple of extra hushpuppies. The best service in Wilson County by far. There team makes you feel right at home Cleanliness : The restaurant is the cleanest in the 252 when compared to other bbq spots. Last I checked they were at 98. There are two big name bbq spots in Wilson and neither of them have above and 88 score so let that sink in. All in all if you love to support local and starter business then throw your support behind this one! Mcdonald and Bojangles have had enough of your dollars now it's time to invest back into the community! EAT AT BOOGIES

Super friendly service and a warm inviting atmosphere with table linens and seating that is nicely spaced to afford you more intimacy than most places. We shared a couple of the starters: Philly egg rolls and the spinach dip with fresh made pita chips. Both were excellent. We also had the chicken wrap, shrimp wrap, Cobb salad, and the chicken salad. All of the entrees were great. My favorite had to be the fresh cut and fried potato slices- whatever you order, don't miss those! It's a banquet hall and catering business but it does a very brisk brunch business and there were three groups there who were celebrating special occasions, so it can accommodate groups of various sizes pretty easily.
