This we understood because it was really a busy day. Because the cloth napkins smelled like rancid oil, we just asked for paper napkins. This took ~30 minutes before we got some. We also asked for some condiment. Since no one was checking on our table, we had to stand up and approach one of the staff to follow up on this, not once but twice but some vinegar never came. However, when we picked up our order (it wasn't ready on time), it was wrong, awful quality and ended up being inedible. The pulled pork lacked flavor, the portions of the sides was small and the Brunswick Stew was nasty. And I love Brunswick Stew. The pecan pie was some kind of gross blob of gel that tastes nothing like pecan pie. I'm so utterly disappointed. For context, we'd been traveling all day and just wanted some comfort food in our bellies and rest up for the rest of our trip. Such a bummer.

If you are on the go, their takeout service is super fast and convenient. But if you can stay a while and eat in, you will get attentive service from the paper-hatted waiters. My usual go-to is the Large combination with Eastern Carolina barbecue, barbecue potatoes, and Brunswick stew. You also have to get the corn sticks and hushpuppies! That Carolina barbecue and coleslaw combo is something I will never get tired of, and my wife says their coleslaw is the absolute best. As for the fried chicken, it can occasionally be a hit or miss on whether it is dry, but overall the meal is amazing. Don't forget the sweet tea that hits just right!
