It was cheaper for us (myself & the cubs) to get the family platter instead of individual meals. Let me tell you something!! It did NOT disappoint!! Food was prepared fresh and very flavorful & plentiful. We decided on the Big Bang with a medium spice level. Our server was very nice and friendly and didn't mind answering a few questions and making sure our food was to our liking. Per usual, the hubby ordered a shrimp and fish platter which was also a nice portion. This is a great restaurant, so much so I have recommended it to several people!

You can usually seat yourself, and the staff greets you promptly. They offer a full bar, house-brewed tea, rotating desserts, lunch and dinner options, and TVs with closed captioning so you can catch a game or trivia. Their seafood selection is excellent, with oysters and other items served fried, steamed, blackened, grilled, and more. They list the origin of their shrimp, clams, and oysters on the wall, and the chalkboard specials change depending on where the oysters were sourced that day. The "Greggah" lobster roll was perfection--a generous portion of chilled lobster in their signature sauce on a top-cut, buttery soft bun. The slaw served with it was creamy, cold, fresh, slightly sweet, and had the right tang. The sausage and potatoes side was one of the best staples from this restaurant group. A later snack of fried clam strips and fried oysters showed the same quality. Everything was freshly breaded, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. It came with hush puppies, coleslaw, and a house-made tartar sauce that was spot-on. Another visit included a house salad with homemade ranch and the double-decker crab cake sandwich--two fresh, in-house-made crab cakes stacked together with coleslaw on the side. It was outstanding. Consistently fresh seafood, friendly service, clean atmosphere, and reliable quality make this Shuckin' Shack location a solid choice whether you're in town briefly or a regular local.

I do think the just boil it up and then season it after the fact. I found myself de-shelling them all first and adding Old Bay to them before eating them. The oysters were pretty good. Not top of the line but definitely passing and delicious. The corn on was NOT dry but also was not seasoned at all, nothing a little salt and melted butter couldn't fix. The drinks, on the other hand, were strong and super tasty. Definitely "bar" is their strong suit. This we understood because it was really a busy day. Because the cloth napkins smelled like rancid oil, we just asked for paper napkins. This took ~30 minutes before we got some. We also asked for some condiment. Since no one was checking on our table, we had to stand up and approach one of the staff to follow up on this, not once but twice but some vinegar never came.
