I walk into the shop, take a pair of shorts out of my backpack, and show whom I believe is the proprietor the broken zipper. He says yes, he can fix it, and then asks as clear as day, "10 dollars ok?" I said that works for me. He proceeded to write up a ticket and asked me how soon I needed the job done. I said no rush. He then asked, 'Is Friday the 30th ok?' (11 days away). I also said that's fine. Next, he says 'That's 30 dollars,' but quickly corrected himself (realizing that 30 was the date he just mentioned), and now asked for $20. I said, 'But sir, you just told me the price was $10.' He became visibly angry, and said I was the one who made a mistake. While I attempted to talk, he repeatedly said "Bye" to me, so I left with my shorts. Here's the thing: I'm now Googling how much alteration shops charge to fix zippers on pants (which I assume is the same as shorts). What's coming up is anything from $10 - $25 dollars. So, I'm not complaining about the price of $20 -- I guess that's pretty standard -- I'm venting about how this gentleman made a mistake, blamed me, and angrily told me to go. Yady is nothing short of a miracle worker with alterations! My wedding dress had been with (who I…read morethought was) a very reputable tailor for over two months after taking my measurements. When I finally picked it up, it fit me very poorly. I was totally panicking and unsure of what to do with less than a month until the big day. I took it to Yady as a last resort, knowing she most likely wouldn't be able to fit me in. She totally could have turned me away seeing as it's basically the height of wedding season and I was giving her three weeks. Not only did she accommodate me, she was so friendly and reassuring about it, AND she finished the dress in 2 weeks so that we had a few buffer days to make final tweaks and get the dress perfect. Yadi did not owe me that kind of service whatsoever! I was blown away at her customer service. This was a tall order for a last minute request- NOT a simple hem job. The top of my dress basically had to be completely reconstructed. She totally saved my dress and restored my excitement about the wedding in general. Her prices were also very fair for what she had to do on the timeline at hand. I couldn't recommend her enough!

I don't take my clothes to Heidi and I'm thankful I didn't trust her with my wedding dress after seeing what she did to the flower girl dress. We gave her a silk, J. Crew Collection dress that was too big overall for my niece. Heidi pinned the dress and I told her that we especially wanted the waist nipped in, but still wanted the skirt to be full. She also had to take the bodice in and "lift" the arm holes. The job would cost $50, which seemed a little high for a child's dress, but I realized that a job for a wedding sometimes gets a mark up. The dress we got back looked like almost nothing was done to it. The tulle petticoat, which had been fine, we now uneven and showing below the hem of the dress in certain areas. My little niece looked so sad in the dress. The alterations had taken so long that we didn't have time to order another dress and have it altered again, so we made an emergency dash to a David's Bridal and got her a dress that fit, but was nowhere near as special as the J. Crew Collection dress could have been. I was so disappointed with the work Heidi did. I will never take anything to her shop.

I read the relatively positive reviews on Google and decided on Heidi's. The day I went in a man was waiting impatiently to pick up an item. He said this was his third time coming to pick up a jacket for his wife, this should have been my warning sign. I was honest with who I assume is the owner that this was short notice (I dropped my dress off May 17) and we went over the minor changes that needed to be done- hemming the bottom was the main item- and she said it should be ready after any final details on June 14. I went in on June 14th and she said it wasn't done. I reminded her of the deadline, she said she would call me that week. The shop never called, so I called several times on Friday but finally left a message. I gave them all of the following week to call and notify me of progress, anything to soothe my nerves. Upon calling today, and reminding them I gave them a drop dead date of June 28th, the owner said the tailoring wasn't done but she would see what she could do. Upon rereading Google reviews I have a feeling I will be overcharged due to the fact I'm "rushing" my order. I'm not exactly sure how they handle orders but I have gotten the impression they knowingly taken on more than it appears can be handled. Not to mention the several times I went in for fittings, the woman would be on the phone without acknowledging you were there and wouldn't cut her the calls to some reasonable length. I most definitely would not recommend this place.

I've been bringing my dress clothes for dry cleaning to Skyline Cleaners at Barracks Road for years…read morenow. I have only ever had a good experience here. The rates are fair, the clothes come out great, and they have never been late fulfilling my orders. Also the people I interact with there are always really nice and helpful. I really like their system where everything is linked to my phone number, even my preferences regarding how starched I want my shirts. I highly recommend bringing your dry cleaning to this establishment. PS. I saw another reviewer posted that dry cleaning chemicals can cause bipolar. As a scientist I found this claim dubious, and looking closely at that reviewers remarks, the article they link is an an almost decade old news article regarding leeching of certain dry cleaning chemicals into the drinking water of certain denizens in the Cape Cod region. Rest assured Skyline cleaners uses industry standard dry cleaning chemicals and practices. For your child to somehow develop bipolar they would have to actually drink water with the chemicals leeched into it, not wear a very nicely cleaned and pressed suit jacket...

She managed to add a couple of inches to the waist and added some room to the jacket in a way that is essentially undetectable. I had a men's sport coat that needed an alteration. I explained what I needed. I asked very specifically if it could be fixed as I desired. They responded, yes. and asked me to pay $85 upfront, which I did. The sport coat was not fixed, and then they gave me various explanations as to why when I asked them to try again. Please do not go there.
