OMG soooooooo good! I had never been there before and am so glad I stopped in. I was taken care of by Lilly and she was delightful. Definitely an old School mom & pop Diner, but still worth a stop in! The inside reminded me of a diner I went to as a kid, metal interior. The food was spot on the strawberry French toast was delicious with rice crispy Crunch on the outside to give it a nice texture. It came with eggs and sausage Pattie's that were good too. The cinnamon roll pancakes came out as a castle that was super nice and they are moist on the inside from the whipped cream. We wanted breakfast (served all day) and didn't even look at the rest of the menu. However, we our neighbors' fresh fried okra arrived on their table we had to order some too. It was delish! We went back to try their AYCE ribs tonight. The service was just as amazing as our previous visit. I must say that while they weren't actually my kind of ribs (I like smoked ribs and their ribs seemed like they are cooked in a slow cooker) but they did not taste bad. They were VERY tender and you get about 6 decent sized ribs for your first plate. They were AYCE but none of us ordered any reorders because it was so much food. Pretty decent place for breakfast and lunch. Recently changed hands of ownership, but still consistently good. Can be a bit too noisy at times but hey, it's basically a diner. 3.5 Stars. We were in the area at lunchtime, and didn't have many options, so we decided to try Martha's. It's a diner-type place with an eclectic menu, decent food, and friendly, efficient service. We chose to order off the menu, although there was also a lunch buffet for $13. I went with the cheesesteak sandwich and their homemade onion rings. Food did take some time; I got the impression that the kitchen was backed up because all the servers were standing near the food window waiting on their orders. My sandwich was okay; the meat was a little chewy, but the bread was soft and fresh. The onion rings were great, if a little greasy. My friends' food took a little longer to come out. The tuna sub was packed with tuna and looked good, but the seafood lunch plate was a little skimpy and sad looking. Tables are packed very close together, plus if you are seated near the buffet, you might get a little warm. You pay at the little booth next to the front door. Plenty of parking was available next to and in front of the restaurant. I'd like to return for breakfast, because at a place like this I'm sure it would shine. read more

This was our second visit to Martha's. This time we got breakfast on a Sunday morning. This low-key home cookin restaurant was packed and it's worth the wait. We got here closer to 11 am on Sunday. People were waiting outside and the parking lot required some creativity. It was make your own space at this point. We got our name on the list and waited out front with everyone else. At least 45 minutes. At one point, we were told they stopped bringing in people so the kitchen could catch up on orders. Finally, we were seated. The place had quieted down a bit now. Our next dilemma was, breakfast or lunch? It's now past noon. Everyone stuck with breakfast on this trip. Our server was around quickly and got us drinks. She was friendly, kind and welcoming just like our server from last time. For breakfast, I ordered the Hillbilly benedict. My wife ordered the cinnamon roll pancakes. Also ordered at the table was the meat lovers skillet. The food took a little while but wasn't too bad. By the time it arrived, we were good and hungry. My Hillbilly benedict was fantastic. A huge serving of soft, buttery biscuits, covered in a savory, peppery, sausage gravy. Layered in between was two sausage patties. This covered my love of benedicts and my love of biscuits and gravy. Adorned over the top were scrambled eggs. On the side, home fries. Everything was perfect. The home fries were real chunks of crispy potatoes. Seasoned well and soft on the inside. I'd order this again if I didn't want to try other things on the menu. My wife ordered the Cinnamon roll pancakes. These had a great presentation. They were cut and rolled up like cinnamon rolls. Drizzled with a sweet glaze and popped with cinnamon flavor. These were excellent. On the side, my wife also had eggs, bacon, and potatoes. Everything cooked well. Hot, fresh, and top quality. Our family at the other end of the table had the task of tackling the meat lover's skillets. This huge pile of meat and potatoes looked like a dream and lives up to its name. They did good work and had plenty left over for a meal the next day. You cannot go wrong with Martha's. Their service is great. The food is comforting, delectable, and ample. I can completely understand people waiting outside to get a table and it's well worth it. I'd wait again too. Check this place out but you'll be in line behind me. read more

Thank goodness for Yelp, without it we would have never found Martha's Family Restaurant. After a great weekend in Tampa my husband and I were driving home and wanted to stop for breakfast. Martha's was a great find. The staff was friendly and very efficient. The menu offered several great options and the daily specials were outstanding. Good flavored, seasoned, well-cooked & tasty food. Seating available per customer choice is plentiful and comfortable, dependent on arrival time. Arrived approximately 1130a, it appears to be a local favorite as parking and seating filled up within a short time. Intended goal was supposed to be catfish but after discussion with Alicia, selected the Thursday Special "Alice springs chicken" as it is not always offered. Good choice. Chicken is cooked and well seasoned, smothered beneath a flavorful combination of Monterey jack cheese, bacon, mushrooms & honey mustard dressing which worked well, complemented the dish. For the two sides, in addition to the freshly made salad, selected corn chowder soup (delicious), mashed potatoes with gravy. Potatoes were real potatoes - small potato chunks still intact and beneath the gravy was flavorful. Portion-wise, the meal is presented for hearty appetites. As Alicia explained "this is what they do." I had to get half of the meal to go. Wasn't a problem though, some customers did the same (i.e., provided to go containers, whatever they ordered). Martha's customers filed in steadily, no one had to wait for seating but suspect it can change. Other than the menu, refreshments & refills and the service was provided in good time. Hot food arrived comfortably warm. Support staff is helpful and work as a team. This was a good trip and well worth cost for the meal. Location is on south side of Hwy 92 west of Parsons Ave. Based on this experience, expect a second visit is necessary to sample the catfish filet. read more

The service was friendly and casual. We felt very welcomed. The catfish was delicious both in the platter and the sandwich. It had excellent fresh flavor and crunch. Additionally, the fresh, crispy veggies added the perfect complement to the soft bread and crisp-coated fish. We do recommended stopping for a home-cooking experience. Prices are fair, too. The only thing I would recommend is to make sure you allow time to dine. The service was slow due to understaffing problems. This may be resolved in the near future, so I would not let it affect my rating. (We waited 35 minutes for food.) read more

Ended up in Tampa with my best friend. We were staying nearby for a concert. I ended up finding this place and tried it out. I am glad I did, because it is one of the best breakfast places. It might look like a dive, but it is a wholesome small breakfast place. The food is freshly made and delicious. The energy of this place is very family friendly. The service was great. I ordered the grill catfish sandwich with a side of onion rings and sweet tea. My friend ordered the pumpkin spice french toast platter with egg, bacon, and hash. I loved the catfish. It was grilled to perfection. I also liked the onion rings. My friend enjoyed her pumpkin spice french toast, she said it was just the "right amount of sweetness." The place was a decent place for breakfast around this area. The French toast came with a twist as they include Pops cereal with their batter. If gives it a nice crunch. I actually thought the outside (corners of the toast) of the French toast was better than the inside cheese filled portion. I don't typically leave reviews for places that I didn't actually dine-in at (the only reason for 4 stars is because I haven't been to this restaurant physically), but we ordered breakfast from Martha's for our office, went and picked it up and everyone was so satisfied and happy with the quality and quantity of food, that I had to leave a review. The food comes in normal to-go containers, it isn't fancy or thoughtfully plated - but the food and sheer amount of food was incredible. I don't think anyone cared about the presentation when the food was that delicious! If you're looking for a hearty breakfast and don't want to go to a place that might skimp on the amount of food, this is it!
