Otherwise this station is kept pretty clean. When the weather is bad or raining you need to be aware there are no real places to go for shelter. You wanna dress appropriately for it. Also within walking distances to this station are The Varsity and Mary Mac's Tea Room. This station is average, regarding maintenance. It's a smaller station that's easy to get into and out of, with multiple entrances and exits. One entrance/exit is at North Avenue. Another entrance/exit is at an office building, near an indoor, two-level shopping center. There isn't a dedicated parking lot for MARTA. MARTA train riders have to use stairs, elevator or escalators to go down one level to get to the loading area. MARTA bus riders stay at the street level to get to the bus loading area. Concrete benches against the walls are available for train riders to sit on while waiting for their trains. Whenever it's hot inside the station, MARTA employees place large fans in place and turn them on to move the the air. This doesn't really help unless you're standing right in front of the fan (this comes from personal experience). Large colorful artwork hangs on the walls.

I currently live in Midtown and I pretty much walk everywhere I need to go but not everything is walking distance or it's just too cold. And on those days, I take public transportation. I grew up here and so I understand that Atlanta is not a huge public transportation city. I always had a car and drove, mainly because the public transportation doesn't go to enough places. I also feel that the stations are not monitored and guarded well enough, so I have time there is a worry of safety. On this particular day, I was just trying to go down the street to Ponce city market. It was about a six minute bus drive from the bus stop that I walked to. Unfortunately, there are literally no signs on the bus stop. All it says is MARTA in big capital letters. You don't see the bus number, you don't see the direction the bus is going. Nothing. (It isn't like this in Dallas!) So of course I got on the wrong bus and ended up being 30 minutes late to where I had to go. S E R V I C E The bus driver was really kind and we had a good laugh about me going the wrong way and overall he made me feel comfortable. A M B I E N C E Personally, within the last couple of years, I have gotten used to taking public transportation in different cities during different hours. Generally, I feel safe. I have never felt unsafe being on the MARTA in Atlanta. But I also don't take it that often. I do feel overall the MARTA could be more clean and the routes should be expanded. P R I C E This is my biggest gripe! You have to pay every time you change your mode of transportation. So when you go from train to bus, you have to pay again. If you go from bus to bus, you have to pay again. So if you have to take multiple modes of transportation you could end up paying Four times for a ticket just for one way. They should be time boxed. Tickets should be per a time limit with unlimited swipes. For example, and Dallas, tickets have a two or three hour time window or an all day ticket. In which you can ride as many trains in as many buses as you wish within the time window that you paid for. Often times, it doesn't just take one train or bus to get where you wanna go. Especially in Atlanta where the routes of MARTA are not well connected. They do have a monthly pass. They also have discounts for students, disabled persons and senior citizens. R A T I N G Three Stars off. Because of the price, disjointed routes and lack of info on bus signs .

If you're going to the airport it's about a 37 min ride on the average. There are close to 1800 parking spaces available here so you shouldn't have any problems finding parking. It's free if it's less than 24 hrs. If its over 24 hrs then its $8 per day-including your first day. If you're going to China Town Square or any of the nearby Asian restaurants then this is your stop. Right about now Chamblee is my favorite Marta station. Why? Because I travel to Doraville every day…read morebut I have the option of using this station to go where I need to without all the foolishness from Doraville Station. Basically I catch an Uber from this station to work. Its hassle free and I swear the passengers that use this location are way different. I don't experience the craziness. This location has more than one entrance though. There is Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Peachtree Road and then there is New Peachtree Road. Use this exit to catch Uber, Lyft or Taxis. This is also the side with Kiss and Ride and also some buses. The Xpress Bus is located onnthe Peachtree Road side. Most people going tobthe Walmart nearby use the Chamblee Dunwoody side. I just like this station eay more than others. The elevator and escalator are almost never out of order. Lots of steps however.

While we were visiting the Georgia aquarium, we decided to take Marta to the airport. It took us a few minutes to figure out how to get a ticket. Then, a guy who was there cleaning the station asked us where we were heading. Who would imagine the station worker gives us false information? We ran to catch a train heading the wrong way! Luckily, I noticed that and got off the train. An elevator is a home for homeless people and inside the train smells like pot. Even with downtown traffic, you are safer and better off taking Uber.

Civic Center Station - MARTA is located where Peachtree St NW is over I75/I85…read more Train riders can enter this station from either side of Peachtree St NW, then read the signs in the station that direct riders which direction the trains go, and use either the elevator or escalator to go down to the appropriate loading area. The only times that I've gotten off of the train at this station was so that I could walk to either the Georgia Aquarium or World of Coca Cola, and the only time I've gotten on the train at this station was because I had returned from the Georgia Aquarium or World of Coca Cola. Every time I've been in this station, there have hardly been any other people around, including law enforcement, so I'm actually a lot more cautious, alert and aware of my surroundings when I'm in this area.

This tour takes you to a lot of places in Midtown that I would've never seen before but now I want to experience these places as well. I've never been to Piedmont Park and I will be going back to visit. But the tour guy was amazing. He knew a lot on the tour and I will say he knew all of our names. It's hard to learn one person's name, but having to learn that seven people that were on the tour and being correct every time it was impressive. They give you a helmet and teach you from the beginning how to ride, slow down, come to fast stop so you are comfortable before you even start the tour. I absolutely enjoyed every moment of it. I highly recommend you take this tour if you're ever in Atlanta.

This is my first and only negative review. It takes a lot for me to do this. We had a very…read moredisappointing experience with this company. Our group of four booked a Segway tour weeks in advance and arrived as scheduled, only to be told upon arrival that the tour could not proceed because their tour guide was unavailable that day. We were informed that they had attempted to notify us the day prior, while we were in transit, but no meaningful effort was made to ensure we actually received that message. A voicemail was left while in transit that only gave the name of the person to call back. We did respond message the company back but no message of details was sent to us. There was no information given us that the tour had been cancelled and there was no effort by the company to call us back this morning to indicate the tour was canceled. Instead this company allowed us to show up. When we showed up this morning, the office was dead quiet. The one staff easily could've contacted us before we arrived, to have allowed us to make alternate plans. As a result, we showed up expecting a confirmed booking. While an apology and refund were offered, that is the minimum one would expect in this situation. There was no attempt to find a replacement guide or propose an alternative solution, despite the significant inconvenience caused. What was most concerning, however, was how the situation was handled. As we calmly discussed next steps among ourselves, we were unexpectedly told that we were making the staff member, Sammi, "uncomfortable". Despite the fact that even though we were highly disappointed we remained polite and measured. We were then asked to leave, and the door was locked behind us, which felt offensive as well as entirely unwarranted given our demeanor. She should've called us that morning and if anything that would possibly be why she was uncomfortable because of her own mistake. Our disappointment was warranted and we were not in any way aggressive, moreover never have any of us been called that. It's preposterous that her mistake, resulting in our disappointment and regrouping could be attributed with making her uncomfortable. She could have a higher tolerance for customers and customer service vs blaming validly disappointed customers for frustration which she caused. We are reasonable, respectful customers and simply expected clear communication and a basic level of customer service. Unfortunately, neither was demonstrated here. I would not recommend relying on this business if your plans depend on them.

Visiting Atlanta? Don't want to drive?…read more MARTA is an easy way to visit the Martin Luther King, Jr., National Historic Site. From the station to the park is an easy 10 minute walk. Although MARTA is not as extensive as other urban cities like Boston, NYC or Chicago, it is easy to use and very affordable. A one way breeze pass is just $2.50 per trip with four transfers allowed in a 3 hour window. A day pass costs $9 or a $14 or $16 for a 2 or 3 day pass. Double check the schedule as there are limited hours on some lines during the weekend. Definitely schedule a visit to the MLK NHS on a trip to Atlanta and don't miss the Fire House. Note: Entry to buildings is still affected by COVID closures.

The platform is an island, so both eastbound and westbound trains stop in the middle and there is a single set of escalators and stairs to descend to the street/ticketing level. Ticket vending machines and turnstiles are there. At street level, they have a handful of free parking spaces. It's a very short walk from here to Sister Louisa's but it's on a busy street and you have to cross. It does not look like it's the best neighborhood, but like any big city, be aware of your surroundings.
