This station is on the Gold Line. It's the 2nd stop if you're going southbound (downtown or airport). It's the 16th stop stop if you're going Northbound (Doraville). If you're going to the airport it's about a 37 min ride on the average. There are close to 1800 parking spaces available here so you shouldn't have any problems finding parking. It's free if it's less than 24 hrs. If its over 24 hrs then its $8 per day-including your first day. If you're going to China Town Square or any of the nearby Asian restaurants then this is your stop. This station is pretty good shape and I've not had any problems with people asking for change or giving me religious literature. Here are some general information about Marta that might be helpful. MARTA - Chamblee Station - Public Transportation Near Me - Chamblee, Georgia

Right about now Chamblee is my favorite Marta station. Why? Because I travel to Doraville every day but I have the option of using this station to go where I need to without all the foolishness from Doraville Station. Basically I catch an Uber from this station to work. Its hassle free and I swear the passengers that use this location are way different. I don't experience the craziness. This location has more than one entrance though. There is Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Peachtree Road and then there is New Peachtree Road. Use this exit to catch Uber, Lyft or Taxis. This is also the side with Kiss and Ride and also some buses. The Xpress Bus is located onnthe Peachtree Road side. Most people going tobthe Walmart nearby use the Chamblee Dunwoody side. I just like this station eay more than others. The elevator and escalator are almost never out of order. Lots of steps however. read more

Marta: Atlanta's transit system. Things to know: There are vending machines outside that sell breeze cards. These are what you use to get on and off the train. These machines take credit, debit, and cash. Trips are $2.50 each. Tap the card on the round symbol that says "tap here"to get through the turnstyle. Trains come on time. About every 15-20 minutes. Chamblee is a decent station. It is usually clean and has 2 benches. There is a police phone on the platform. The train takes you directly to the airport. Cons: These train lines are limited and do not run 24 hours. I believe they shut down around 2 am. It is annoying that we have to tap our breeze cards to EXIT the station. I prefer stations that don't require you to fish out your card to exit. Do not take the elevator, it smells like pee and can be dangerous if you get in there with the wrong person. Be careful, as Marta is known to host some wackadoodles. I have heard of robberies and other crimes. Also, there tends to be excessive pan handling depending on the station. As a general precaution, one should be careful when traveling alone regardless of where you are. Marta has their own officers who patrol the stations, known as the Marta police. I hardly see them around at this station. There is more Marta police presence at the Five Points station in my experience. Overall: It gets me to school and back. One extra star for being within walking distance. I have yet to smell anything malodorous or urine-like in the course of my time leaving from and coming to this station. I use my MARTA app to see when the train comes and I admit that it has been on time the various times that I've hopped on the train in the past half year or so. Never coming any later or earlier than a minute or two. Just don't be a lazy fool and try to roll in right when the train is scheduled to arrive. I always allow myself at least 6 minutes (yes, I have a problem with adhering to deadlines and am always finding the smallest window possible during which I have to turn something in or be present) to load up my Breeze card (machines have not given me any issues with taking my debit and credit cards) and walk in through the gate and up the escalator. If no one is in front of me, I like to race up this thing like a 5-year-old undisciplined child. I've never taken the elevator, either going up or down. Even when I have luggage (which is never more than a light carry-on, by the way). There are two ways to exit, one comes out onto New Peachtree Road and the other Peachtree Road (and yes, these are two different streets. Go on, make your Peachtree jokes). I believe the New Peachtree Road exit has a sign indicating that you are exiting through the "International District" gate and the Peachtree Road exit makes mention of "Antique Row." Don't take my word as law though, I may have switched the two or completely imagined the signs. (Take my word as law now, as I have confirmed this. Chamblee Station has been my most frequently-used station (since it's my closest one). I've found no fault in it, and the only thing I find funny about it is literally every time I come to the station to catch the next train, as I'm pulling into a parking spot, there's the train arriving! If one is traveling at peak times during the week, though, it shouldn't be a problem, as they're there about every ten minutes, and then generally every 15-20-ish minutes depending on the day. In mentioning the parking, the spaces are tight, so one probably should not commute with a Yukon or an Excursion (though it's stereotypically probable that people who would be driving such vehicles wouldn't care much about using public transportation). There is ample parking, though, with three lots on either side of the station. One cannot leave one's vehicle at the station overnight, though (or, one shouldn't; at the very least, there's a less-than-24-hours guideline). The station website (http://www.itsmarta.com/Chamblee.aspx) does say one can park there for $8 a day, but I've seen no evidence they've made the facility for it. Being a fairly-used station, there are a few MARTA buses that meet at the station: the 19, 33, 47, 103, 126 (my personal favorite, but my bias is I can about literally leave my doorstep, catch this bus, and take it to the station), and 132. Also, having stared 4/24/2017, Gwinnett County Transit routes 101, 102, and 103 have stops at Chamblee Station, which is wonderful for those who want Gwinnett County access. My favorite thing is having a basic, direct route to the airport, which takes about half an hour to reach, including station stops and pauses. The station may be lacking in some facilities (no long-term parking, no restrooms, and no RideStore), but it is a gateway to the wider MARTA and GCT network that really allows one -- especially with the challenges numbers of people have faced since the I-85 challenges arose -- to get where one might need to go without the hassle of heaps of traffic. read more

I'm a huge fan of this Marta station, though I may be a bit biased due to it being my local public transit gateway. As someone who prefers to keep to myself while utilizing public transportation, I find Chamblee Marta to be very favorable; as I'm rarely harassed by those asking for money or craving attention generally (singing loudly, blaring music, sobbing, and so on). Though these factors seem to fluctuate depending on which station you visit, I typically find the idle passengers visiting the station alongside me to be well-behaved and polite, which is outstanding. I've deducted one star due to the recent removal of several fare machines from the station, and the inconsistent behaviors of those that have been left; the likelihood of being able to use a credit or debit card to load trips onto your card seeming to change daily. However, with this being one of the less-popular Marta facilities, I ultimately understand the decision to relocate the machines elsewhere. read more

Marta on the go is kinda a neat app. 5:08 first train SB to the Airport, was quite accurate. Glad I made it smoothly arrived at 5:05 and caught the train. But the on platform time table, an old version LED screen, showed the next train is in 17min... so it is not trustworthy on site info. That means you need a smart phone to get right time schedule. (However, there's always vague voice broadcasting in the station notice you about delaying) In conclusion, best of luck to ride the Marta and def leave more extra time in case delay happens. read more

By far this is the beat way to go to the airport. Plenty of free parking and travel time is less than an hour. By and keep a breeze card and then reload it often. Machines take cash, coins and credit and debit cards. read more

Standard MARTA station. I wish that the station had some form of read out on when the next train was arriving on the bottom level so that you know whether you need to step it out or not. Most of the time it is clean and there are shields from the wind and elements up on the platform area. It is off the Gold Line which runs all the way to the airport, which is convienent and the reason I use this station so frequently. read more
