Every time I am here I'm so surprised that theres not a bigger sleection of retil options like in other major international Airports. It's surprising for guests (because boredom shopping is a thing) and fro a sales stand point. I feel like HJIA is really missing out. read more

I enjoy everything about the international terminal and delta. Even though this is one of the busiest airports in the US, it feels much more organized in comparison to other airports, and especially in comparison to the domestic terminal here. I'm sure there are logistical reasons for that but from a passenger's perspective, it is a bonus, and a reason to avoid "the other side" when possible lol. No complaints to speak of. Just make sure you arrive early to give yourself time to figure things out. Airport customer service is still pretty unreliable. Sometimes they can help but a lot of times they cannot or will not with an expensive admin fee. Plan ahead, arrive at least an hour earlier than you think you need to. Safe travels read more

Pretty nice airport, especially since they added the international terminal a few years ago. It really helps a lot when taking a flight overseas. Last year, I had to fly to Europe via New York and use the domestic terminal. The process was so slow. After you pass the security control, you really get your daily exercise waking to the departure gate. If you have time to eat, there are plenty of food vendors to choose from and a duty-free shop to visit. Staff is friendly even at the security point. The only big complaint was when driving towards the terminal, all the flags outside the airport were torn and ragged looking. You would think that they could afford to replace the flags. This TSA deserves 10 points. After I came to the airport, I realized that I had left my insulin home 35 miles from the airport. Since we were really early, my husband was able to meet my daughter halfway and deliver my insulin to me at the airport. Needless to say, I was worried that due to security, I wouldn't be able to make it on time to my flight. But there are human angels working here. One person in charge told me to go to the wheel chair line. I did, and when I explained to the young man in charge of the line the situation he did let me ahead of others. This is the South, people are so nice. Thank you all so much. This is the best airport in the world. read more

The airport is always overcrowded. Gates are always full for incoming flights causing them to wait as much as 1.5 hours to get a gate to park at. Baggage takes forever to get to baggage claim. Plane trains overcrowded. Customer service always terrible. read more

I come to this terminal whenever flying international out of Atlanta. It has pro's and cons. Pros: The lines are typically shorter than the domestic building, its a smaller building so its less chaotic, there are less security lines so not as much confusion, you still have access to the plane train so you can always go thru security here then go back to domestic if needed. Cons: They do not have a Clear line so if the lines are long you don't get those benefits, they dont always have enough TSA in this building so it can get chaotic on a busy day, It's not accessible via Marta. My biggest tip is look online at the estimated time to get through security prior to getting to the airport. This way you can determine if its quicker to go to the international building or the domestic building for security. read more

Having global entry is a wonderful perk as it allows you to skip the long line when entering Atlanta from another country. The international side of Hartsfield Jackson Airport is much easier to navigate than the domestic side. Parking is much easier as well as long as it's not a busy travel day. I have driven around the international side for almost an hour before because the parking deck filled up, but it was still an easier task than going to and parking on the domestic side. I recommend getting to the airport more than two hours early if you are traveling internationally if you need to park. If you are just dropping someone off, then you will have no challenges getting to the areas for drop offs. The international side allows you to get in and out easily. Before you know it, you are back on your way home after dropping someone off. read more

It's such a treat to do international travel from this airport. Not to be mistaken with the domestic airport (you don't want to go to the wrong airport). They've really improved the efficiencies. This is the worst airport I have ever in my entire life had the displeasure of departing from. My Delta flight was to take off at 9:30 AM but due to electrical problems. My flight got postponed till 10 AM. Then it got postponed until 11 AM. Then it got postponed until 1 PM. We did receive food vouchers so that wasn't too bad. Then it got postponed until 3 PM and finally it was postponed until 7:30 PM. My questions were why didn't they just give us another plane. They stated that they had to get the plane part from Minneapolis. Don't they have plane parts in Atlanta? Due to the fact that my flight was so delayed, I was unable to pick up my dog from his doggy hotel until this morning. I will be reimbursed from Delta Airlines for that faux pas. I cannot stand this airport and I really have a problem with Delta Airlines. read more

Making flying (kinda) smooth again! I'm a frequent traveler so airport vibes are extremely important to me. Unless you're one of those crazies who desire the rush of getting to the airport only 1 hour or so in advance, (stay far away from me! lol), it may also be important to you. The International Terminal is in its own little world compared to the main terminal and seemingly miles away for my impatient self, but you can hop right on the plane train here or even utilize one of the shuttle buses - love it! On my recent trip to Belize, I was bummed to realize that I couldn't just skip the counter as my passport and vaccination card needed to be reviewed and we weren't as early to the airport as I usually shoot for. Lucky us, the International Terminal lines for our flight were SO quick! We were in and out of the line in less than 10 minutes and onto security. I love that in this terminal, ATL really considered the fact that there are probably thousands of passengers going through daily and why would you only offer 1-2 static lines that keep us all stuck together like sardines for 20min+? (*Cough Cough* Main Domestic Terminal) There were multiple lanes stemming from the main lane and the officers were making it their point to keep us moving - we love to see it!! The shops and restaurants are not as plentiful as the domestic terminal, of course, but they will do!! So ready for my next international trip! read more

Terminal F gets an F for 21st century travel. Lots of seating with no electrical connections! Tragic fail. Good lord people. Food is great but the gates are absurdly crowded even tho it's a relatively new terminal. And there's precious little power for people to charge to. Heck even the Dayton Ohio airport has charging at the seats! So much for the busiest airport in the world actually carrying about travelers. Clueless comes to mind. We arrived 2.5 hours early for our international flight. The security lines were relatively short, maybe 10 minutes. The walk to our gate, F10, took another 1 minute. I have never had such a speedy passage to my gate in my entire Atlanta airport experience spanning since 1992. Kudos to the airport! Plenty of food options and spacious seating, although it does not seem like enough seats for an international flight, but maybe they wanted lots of room for people to stand or lie on the floor. It is very clean and spacious. I highly recommend international security and the F terminal. read more

I have to agree with the comments of some of my fellow Yelpers. With all the money spent, how could the Maynard H. Jackson International Terminal end up with a second rate décor looking akin to that of a Regal Cinema, but that's what seems to have happened. It's also the terminal most lacking in restaurants and concessions, however Jekyll Island Seafood is somewhat of a bright light amongst airport restaurants. Being designated as Terminal (or sometimes as Concourse) F, it's the most out of the way one and a rather distant underground sub ride if you are switching from Terminals A or B. It's nearly a 10 minute commute. It also seems that the ramp walks from the terminal to the airplane are much longer. Matter of fact when I was the only person on one of them, it got spooky. On the other hand if you are going to pick a terminal to enter the airport through, this is the one as it is the least crowded and having the shortest of TSA and other lines. read more

The restaurant selection is slim and if you're traveling during the early morning hours the only restaurants that are open is Starbucks (which is all most ppl need) and The Pecan Bistro. The Pecan Bistro has a nice menu selection, however all the items on the menu was not available when I was there. The check-in line and TSA was a breeze. Not as busy as the domestic side. read more

Arrived from Equito at 600am. Custom staff were nice. I was impressed with how streamlined the process it. I checked in initially at Global Entry which gave me a receipt to see an attendant. The attendant asked me if I havevto declare anything. I told her I have 2 wine bottles. I was let through with out hassle. Consistency is needed. I arrived at Maynard Jackson on two separate occasions in 2018--July and December. My July arrival was perfection. I was literally stunned at how perfect and organized everything flowed. I was greeted by several staffers who asked "How was your flight?" There was someone throughout to guide me each step of the way. I was told which carousel to retrieve my luggage. I wished I could have recorded my arrival, because it's the most spectacular experience I have ever had at any airport. And as an American returning to the US from being overseas, it's the first impression of the US--a welcome home. ATL has been the busiest airport in the world for many years, so an International arrival is an opportunity to make a very big statement. People traveling all over the world have this excellent experience of arriving in the US. Very impressive, and I was very proud of ATL. Now, in December, my arrival could not have been more frustrating and was infinitely far from perfection. Everything was disorganized. Some staffers were yelling in very loud voices, but the yelling seemed to be more aggressive than for the sake of volume. Trying to find out information? You will be cut off immediately. So, I just followed the line, went to the carousel, waited for luggage that never came. Several of those on my flight had the same issue, and after asking several staff people close by, we all became very frustrated we were not getting any answers. So, I finally left the baggage claim area and asked a Delta red coat for help. She said we went to the wrong baggage claim, and needed to ride the tram to another terminal. But her tone was more as if it were our fault. If there are about a dozen people who having the same issue, obviously something was missing in communication for us all. Blame should not have been placed on us. We just should have been helped. So, off we went to the domestic terminal, but my bag was not there, so I ended up requesting my bag be delivered. I don't know how to reconcile my two very different experiences. I just hope more people experience the perfection I did earlier in the year, than the madness I endured during my second visit. read more

Delta Experience: Last time at this airport I flew Domestic, this time International & I give a hand clap for the amazing vision into fruition. Not just due to seeing it for the first time as I'm five years behind, yet the parts of this open, bright & innovative space I did get to encounter, gets another hand clap & shout out to Mayor Kasim Reed. Since coming in through Concourse F, the quick tidbits of the 40 gates & then some: *Signage everywhere imaginable to easy the navigational aspect *Separate levels for arrivals and departures *Eight security checkpoint lanes for International departing passengers *Five security recheck lanes for Domestic connecting passengers I do ponder the inquiry, how come no one from my down South circle told me about the seven minute commute between the International & Domestic terminals? I thought I was getting a surprise tour on I-75 with this unexpected joy ride. Since the International Terminal has a separate entrance from the Domestic Terminal (if driving, it's accessible from I-75, exit 239), shuttle service is provided. One set of shuttles connects you to the Domestic Terminal, its Parking Facilities & MARTA, Atlanta's train service. Also from the Domestic Terminal there are various shuttles readily available to take you to your designated hotel. With the exception of the Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway, you have to take the Sky Train which is less than a two minute ride. The other set of shuttles provides direct service between the International Terminal & the Rental Car Center. Speaking of Mayors, how fitting to name the International Terminal after the late & great Maynard Holbrook Jackson, Jr. Now I need to experience departing from the International Terminal to see how user friendly that process ends up being. read more

Yelp Challenge 2016: 85/116. Apparently I have been spending some time in airports recently... Let me begin by staying that my home airport is LAX- which is woefully behind the times. Just about any airport is better than LAX and Atlanta is one of my favorites to fly in and out of. That doesn't mean it's perfect, but it's way better than LAX... I took a trip that had me landing in the Delta domestic terminal and flying out of international and then back again. My immediate first impression with the Atlanta airport was, "Wow!" I loved, loved, loved the the PLANE TRAIN- which efficiently shuttled me from the furthest domestic terminal A to the international terminal F. Why can't LAX have one of these? I felt like the only kid who didn't get a bike on Christmas morning. I didn't have problems with security going out since I have Global Entry with TSA PreCheck. I can keep my shoes on! Coming back was a bit of a letdown though. After clearing immigration (easy with Global Entry) and customs, I got stuck in the huge and disorganized regular TSA line since TSA Pre-Check didn't open up until 6:30 am (I arrived prior to). That sucked and took time away from exploring the many shopping and dining options available. Speaking of shopping and dining...the Plane Train shows you what's available in each terminal as you approach. And within each terminal there are banners that are color-coded for shopping venues and dining venues. There's a beautiful chandelier in one of the Delta terminals and cool internationally decorated Christmas trees. Shout out to Draga B. in Delta Special Services who helped me out with a problem. Despite the TSA pre-check snafu, I'd still choose to fly in and out of Atlanta on my next international flight that requires a connection. read more

So glad they opened up a seperate place for international flights. I gotta give it to this city we have got the most efficient airport in the country and maybe in the world. We may not be the prettiest or most entertaining but we get the job done. As quickly and painless as we can. This is what I think of the International Terminal. It's super efficient. Even when it's peak time or the weather has gone crazy. This place is prepared and ready to react. You can't say that about every city's airport but you can about ours....There are hiccups here and there. That's to be expected. The newer international terminal is great but TSA precheck closes at 5:30pm. Why? There are a number of evening flights. Priority gets you through but not your family (even if they have precheck but not status). Though this is the international terminal - most flights still go out of E gates ... depending on time/day just gonl through domestic - you'll have to do a passport check at the boarding door anyway. The sky club is nice with its patio - much better than e gates. Lost a star because the morning flight to Toronto is brutal with everyone waiting like cattle to be fed when the security lines open. It'd be easier to open one early. read more

A couple of weeks ago I took my first international trip out of the Atlanta airport so I got to experience the international terminal. It still baffles me that there are so many awesome direct flights out of Atlanta. A few weeks ago I got to fly to Peru for the first time. You can probably get to the international terminal from the other terminals. Once you check in, you take the train and it will get you over there. However you can also be dropped off over there as well and I think that might be easier especially if you're checking in luggage. Most of the international flights out of Atlanta are offered through Delta and its partners (I believe AeroMexico also operates direct flights to Mexico). Even though this is an international airport and there are a lot of flights offered through here, I felt that the lobby is not very big. Once you pass through security, the terminal area seemed a little outdated and unliked the other big city airports, there weren't as many good shops or restaurants on the inside. Perhaps they are working on updating that terminal? Overall though I had a great experience flying through here. The waiting area on the terminals had limited seating but they had a lot of areas where you can plug in your electronics. I also like the security check points better than I do any other airport. Even though they are usually stupidly busy, they are efficient and get people through pretty quickly (despite the fact that there are people that go through security as if they have never flown before....). read more

Love this terminal. It's a hidden gem of the airport for so many reasons. 1. It's the only terminal that still allows curbside uber pickup 2. Security lines are under 10 minutes 98% of the time 3. You can use the plane train to get to any terminal in the airport after entering through international 4. They have great stores and tasty easy food no matter what time your flight is. The staff is also extra friendly, although it should be noted the staff through the entire airport is delightful. Tip: When flying into Atlanta, you can exit the airport through international terminal no matter what gate you flew into and have your uber pick you up curbside. Just use the plane train to get to F terminal. This only works of you did not check bags domestically*** read more

Wow, I didn't even know ATL has its own International Airport that's 15 minutes away from the domestic Airport. That shows how much I travel out of the country. One of the reasons why I never traveled internationally is because I didn't want to go through the hassle of international travel. Well, I think this new-ish airport helps that. If you screw up and accidentally go to the domestic one, there is a shuttle you can take. It's near where the other shuttles are located. This airport is spacious. When I went, there weren't that many people. It seemed less busy compared to the domestic one. In fact, the TSA Pre line was closed since the TSA line was short anyway. At the gates, there are a lot of seats with a ton of outlets for your phones. So waiting wasn't as bad. Because there were fewer people, it seemed like there were more seats as well. Arriving was a different story. I remember long ago, they used to divide up the custom lines by American citizens and Foreigners. Now everyone lumps into 2 lines: transfers and people staying in Atlanta. Since I live in Atlanta, I don't think I'll ever experience the transfer line. The line for people staying in Atlanta moved slow. I think they had more staff at the other line because there seemed to be more people transferring out. It makes sense. They need to catch their next flight so they should try to process them as fast as possible. Well the Atlanta line moved dirt slow. If they had one more person, it would've been great. Oh well, we can't have everything. At least the customs people were friendly. Also, long ago, we needed to get our bags from baggage claim and re check it in. Well, if you're staying in Atlanta, you don't need to do that. Just grab it and go. Also, when you exit, the shuttles are right outside. You don't have to walk a mile, like at the domestic airport, to get to your shuttles. I liked that. I like this new airport. I think this will help me not dread international travel out of Atlanta that much. Too bad it didn't help the domestic airport, since that airport is still super-busy. read more

While the rest of the passengers in ATL look for a gift shop to buy a magazine, wait in line in bathrooms, and eat fast food in areas where there are no tables to spare...i'll be here. In a sea of never-ending announcements, boarding calls, beeping people cars, and people trying to get me to sign up for a credit card...i'll still be here. Trying to find a seat at your gate? Leaning against the wall? Trying to drown out the screams of children and the yells of angry passengers? No more outlets to charge your electronics? I won't be dealing with any of that over here. Trying to get a boarding pass printed? How about those cars quadruple parked at the drop off zone? How's that line at security treating you? You won't find me there. Welcome to the international terminal at Delta, which looks nothing like what you think an airport is. Though I entered through the North Entrance, I could see right away that that was a mistake. As long as your don't need to check a bag and you have a boarding pass on your phone (or preprinted from home) -- you can start here and travel to any gate you need. There are no drop off lines, so few people going through security that I think the TSA people were falling asleep, and no annoying announcements to contend with. A calming orb of classy music takes over as you leisurely stroll through the stores (Kiehl's, DKNY, Coach? Yes.) and look for a place to eat. Spoiler alert - there are so many fancy choices your head will spin. Come hours early and bask in the comfort that is concourse F. I almost forgot I was even at an airport - until I got to Terminal C and got slapped in the face with everything representative of what one would conceive of as "normal" airport occurrences. read more

What a massive place. A train takes you between terminals. If you are having a layover here make sure it's no less than 45 minutes because you might be reliving that scene from Home Alone with a mad dash through the airport. This was my first transfer here. Coming from Charlottesville VA en route to NYC Go figure right? What pained me most was right as I was boarding the lady behind me starts slurping on her Jamba Juice! What?!?!?!? Don't fail life like me. Terminal T has a Jamba Juice!!! the sole purpose of this review is so that others don't make my mistake. Never again Atlanta. Never again. read more

Keep in mind that the luggage carts, although FREE, does not have dedicated docks and very few so give yourself some time to walk around and look for them. I remember when I asked an airport agent where to find a luggage cart, she gave me a look and said "hum, well good luck finding one cuz they free but uhm, theres only very few and we aint go no place to put them... they just around somewhere" sigh** However!!! this is a definite upgrade from the old airport... what a brilliant idea to finally separate the domestic from the international terminals of ATL airport. It is less congested for drop off and pick up vehicles, check in and out is a breeze, and the place is spacious and clean! one of the top 5 best airports we have ever been. read more

Nice terminal....Very airy and full of glass, it makes the entire concourse feel more welcoming than the other traditional ATL concourses. Some nice restaurants that are not available elsewhere at ATL like Pei Wei and the Varsity. Concourse F is the International Terminal for all arrivals outside the USA and Canada. If you are picking someone up, please remember that this one is in a different location than the Baggage Claim for domestic flights.. Overall a nice small terminal. read more

CONCOURSE F is for only international flights. It is located in a brand new airport recently built. It is also known as the Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal. (Read below) I have been here numerous amount of times to pick up and drop off folks. It's definitely in an awkward location, but the plus side is LESS traffic. The road entering has many poles with international flags waving gracefully. It's also surrounded by Delta's warehouse/cargo buildings on both sides. Interior and exterior of the airport is beautiful-- modern architecture. Very clean. I like the night sky blue neon lights that runs along the ceiling inside. Parking is a multi-level deck-- reminds me of SFO's airport. Clean and spacious. read more

The new international terminal is great - tall-ceilinged expanses with a mezzanine food court (accessible by escalators). This is a great addition to Hartsfield-Jackson. I like that it's accessible directly from the interstates - you don't have to go through the regular terminals for trips out of the country (they are connected via the underground tram is you're coming in from another US state). I do wish there were a few more food options. I tried Ecco for lunch - good but a bit expensive, especially after factoring in all the taxes (seems like there were 3 or more). read more

If you want to get through the airport fast I suggest this terminal. I use the international terminal even when i'm traveling domestic because theres never really a long line. If your TSA pre-check you have a even better advantage because the line usually doesn't have more than 1-2 people in it. The lines in the main airport can make you really mad if your having a bad day. Anyway inside of Maynard its beautiful! Even the drive up looks so modern and clean and once inside its the same. Beautiful, modern, clean, and huge! Once past security theres lots of restaurants and stores to shop in while you wait to board your plane. This terminal is my fav when traveling because I'm usually the late person arriving at the airport 45 prior to departure. Don't judge me lol read more

The new international terminal that was completed in the spring of 2012 is impressive. It's large, spacious and, airy and instead of giving you that hectic, rushed, I'm-totally-going-to-miss-my-flight feeling that the main terminal gives, it's relaxed, elegant and calm there. I love it and wish I had more chances to fly internationally just to be there. Lines to check in are nonexistent, security is an easy stroll, and it really doesn't feel like an airport, more like a grand resort somewhere with fine shopping, dining, and of course Starbucks. My most recent flight on Delta (which was not international) had me sitting in the International terminal to board my plane (which had come from France), so I got reacquainted while I waited. The main area is large and open with a scattering of artfully arranged chairs (with outlets located conveniently nearby) for travelers to sprawl on, and a giant glass art installation hovers above everything oozing ambiance. Around the edges of the main area are upscale duty free shops and other bastions of designer shopping and eating (ie there's no Popeye's or Subway to be seen). And like I said before, you don't see the panic and chaos that characterize the main terminal - it's as if Xanax is being pumped in through the air vents. This is not to say there's no sense of urgency or purpose, but it's controlled and more refined. I really like the new international terminal, now I need to find a reason to be there more often. read more
