This stop is the 4th on the Gold line. It's one of Marta's better stations. (you know you're hitting a better part of town when the waiting platforms have walls and roofs) Lenox station is on the gold line. From here to the airport is about 30 min. for most weekdays. Lennox is a pretty simple station. One of the few I've seen without a wall sculpture directly carved in the wall. And it's pretty dull if you ask me. Not like arts center transit station for instance. No public pianos either. Being in the high class zone that it is, it's a pretty dissapointing station to be honest. read more

Lenox station is the fastest and easiest way to get to Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza if riding MARTA, though Buckhead station works as well. Despite the affluent neighborhood, this particular MARTA stop has a surprising number of panhandlers. There have been so many that MARTA posted a sign that said: "No, they can't spare a dollar. Don't beg on MARTA." One thing about Lenox station that most people don't know about or have ever noticed is there is a time capsule sitting beneath the waiting platform. There's an engraving on the floor denoting its placement. The time capsule was put there in 1984 and is to be opened in 2033. Items inside include Delta flight attendant uniforms, Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Hawks memorabilia, a Cabbage Patch doll, ads from Rich's department store, art, and more. Like MARTA's other train stations, Lenox station is drab and barren. While the station is relatively "clean," the signs and equipment are not in good condition. The elevator and escalators are commonly down for maintenance. Many signs, advertisements, etc. have been scratched and/or defaced. On weekdays, trains stop by mostly on 10-15-minute intervals. On weekends, it's 20-minute intervals. Once on a southbound train, it takes about 30 minutes to reach the airport, MARTA's southern terminus. There's an antiquated electronic display with ETAs of upcoming trains. There's both free short-term and paid long-term parking at this station. The free surface lot and paid parking garage can be accessed at the north entrance near Resurgens Plaza via E Paces Ferry Rd. Note: The Lenox and Buckhead stations are on different lines (gold and red, respectively). If you want to go from one to the other, you'll have to switch one stop south at Lindbergh Center. read more

Marta's Lenox Station is in a supreme area of Buckhead. It is located across the street from Lenox Mall, Houston's Restaurant and easily accessible to Phipps Plaza Shopping Mall. The Atlanta Marriott Buckhead Hotel is adjacent to Lenox Mall and directly across the street from the train station. This station has heavy foot traffic from Doraville and from the Airport area. People flock to these two malls and this area in general. The station itself is kind of drab and dark in my opinion but hey it works for those that have to use it frequently. read more

We enjoy taking MARTA into town vs. driving, hunting for parking, then paying for parking and ultimately trying to remember where you parked. We had lunch at the mall and decided to drive around the corner and take Marta. We were unable to locate the free commuter parking lot and ended up in a pay-to-park lot. I thought I would only pay $3 but the clerk said it was $5 when it was time to exit the garage. read more

Long-term parking available. Off East Paces Ferry. Can take an elevator and escalator right from parking to the garage. Right now it's $5 per day. Great deal. You can go to the airport with many days of parking and $6 round trip train tickets. Convenient and cheap way to go. When waiting for the train, wait towards the middle not the side because the train might not stop in front of you f you're on the end. Be blessed!! read more

As far as MARTA stations go, you can't expect too much luxury... however, basic lighting and ventilation are really important no matter where the station is! Although I am not a daily user, I've spent many an-hour waiting for the train here, and I have never once felt even remotely comfortable. The almost non-existent lighting makes for a wonderful dramatic setting, but when I'm alone at 11:00 at night, I don't appreciate it one bit. What does exist is dim and the fixture are few and far between. There is no art, no design, and nothing interesting to distract from waiting like some of the other stations. If I have to wait... in the dark... without any visual stimuli... I'd at least like to know how long until my train arrives. But NO WAY, JOSE! Despite it's ritzy location, this MARTA station does not even have an "Upcoming Train" screen. (or they do, but it is always off or broken) read more

This is one of the better MARTA stations in that it doesn't stink like cigarette smokes. Trains come pretty frequently. The stop is across the street from the Lenox Mall, which is super-convenient. Area is pretty safe. read more
